Shouko saw Takeuchi-sensei helping Shouya, who still wasn't explaining, so she softly sighed and slowly began to explain what she knew:

"I'm not sure about the specifics. By the ti I reacted, I only heard Ueno's scream. I opened the toilet stall door and ca out to check, and I saw Shouya standing in front of a tightly closed stall door with a basin of water.

After that, Ueno walked out soaking wet."

Takeuchi-sensei looked at Ishida Shouya, who was leaning against him, in disbelief. Just as he was about to angrily question him, Miyamura Akira's calm voice interrupted:

"Shouko, there's a sun-protection jacket in my bag. Go get it for Ueno."

"Okay, okay. Don't peek, alright?" Shouko nodded, warned him softly, and ran off.

Akira looked at Shouya, whose head was tilted back to stop the bleeding. He rembered the guilty and flustered look on his face earlier—how could he not understand what this guy was trying to do?

But with Takeuchi-sensei here, if he acted, he would definitely get stopped. And technically, Shouya had splashed Ueno, not Shouko—so he had no excuse to hit him again. Still, that punch from earlier was definitely worth it.

After a while, Shouko returned with a light gray jacket and handed it to Ueno Naoka.

"Ueno, cover yourself a bit first."

After she slipped it on, Shouko gently helped her up. Realizing it was Akira's jacket, she added with a smile:

"But don't worry, I'm giving you this jacket."

Takeuchi-sensei, seeing that Shouya had recovered, stood up and snapped:

"Let's go, all of you—co to the office and call your parents."

He was done dealing with this. Let the parents handle it. The school had surveillance footage, and he was in class when it happened. Not his responsibility.

Akira looked at Shouya again, regretting slightly that he hadn't choked on his own nosebleed while tilting his head.

Shouya noticed Akira's glare and shot one right back. His cheek throbbed with pain. If that damn teacher hadn't been there, he would've taught Akira a lesson.

But Akira wasn't even looking at him anymore—he was checking whether Shouko had gotten splashed, hoping to find an excuse to beat him again.

"Akira, I didn't get wet. Don't worry," Shouko reassured him gently.

Naoka, watching from the side, saw Shouko's warm smile—and her chest filled with envy.

anwhile…

"Yaeko, I'll go to the school. Don't worry."

As soon as Miyamura Shizuka hung up with her brat, she imdiately called Nishimiya Yaeko at work.

"Okay, thank you," Yaeko replied, flustered.

"If you thank again, I'm going to get mad."

Yaeko chuckled softly. "Okay~"

"Shouko!"

Ten minutes later, Akira heard his mother's voice echo in the hallway before she even arrived.

Miyamura Shizuka rushed into the office, greeted Takeuchi-sensei, then made a beeline for Shouko, squatting down to check on her.

As for her own son—one glance was enough. He looked fine, so she completely ignored him.

"Auntie, I'm okay," Shouko said shyly as Shizuka checked her over, her cheeks red from embarrassnt under all the stares.

"As long as you're okay. That brat barely told anything on the phone—I was worried sick!"

Once satisfied, she turned and poked Akira hard in the forehead.

Then, she began surveying the rest of the room:

A bruised kid (yep, sa spiky-haired punk as last ti)

A red-eyed girl wearing… wait. That jacket!

Her son's jacket.

Wait—was this brat trying to go for both girls now? One Shouko wasn't enough, so now a left-and-right harem? Should she whip up so stir-fried pork with belt tonight? Or maybe the classic husband-and-wife tag-team beating?

Ueno Naoka caught the look from Shizuka and quickly explained tearfully:

"Auntie, Shouko just lent this to temporarily."

"Hehe… it's fine."

Shizuka smiled softly, reeling in her imagination.

"Miyamura-san, please take a seat."

"Of course."

This ti, Shizuka didn't stand on ceremony. She took Shouko by the hand and brought her to the black sofa, pulling her onto her lap.

"Oh, right—Shouko's parent isn't available right now. But I'm her godmother, so I'll represent her."

She turned and told Takeuchi-sensei.

He awkwardly nodded.

Five minutes later, Ishida Miyako entered. She greeted Takeuchi-sensei and nodded to Shizuka, then rushed to Shouya, squatting down beside him. Her eyes widened at the sight of the bruise on his cheek.

"Sensei, what—"

"Ishida-san, I know what you're about to ask. Please wait a mont.

"Takeuchi-sensei raised a hand to pause her.

"We'll go over everything once the last parent arrives."

Right then, Ueno's mother stepped into the room.

Naoka ran to her and hugged her tightly, tears rushing back all over again.

"It's okay, it's okay, Mama's here," her mother cooed gently.

Takeuchi-sensei cleared his throat and brought everyone's attention to him:

"Alright, now that everyone is here, let's go over what happened."

He quickly gave a summary of the situation and shared the surveillance footage.

Then he turned to Shouya.

"Ishida, explain why you went into the girls' restroom to throw water on Ueno."

Miyako's heart trembled. She hadn't wanted to believe it—but the footage was undeniable.

"Shouya, speak. Why would you do sothing like this?"

Shouya, feeling the judgntal stares—especially from Ueno's mother—gritted his teeth and pointed at Akira.

"I just don't like him.

So I wanted to ss with the deaf girl next to him.

Didn't expect there'd be two closed stalls. I splashed the wrong one."

His tone was so flat, so unapologetic, that the room went still.

Miyako's heart clenched in pain.

Then—SLAP!

Ueno's mother had rushed forward and smacked Shouya hard across the face.

Everyone froze.
