Chapter 60: Family Reunion

I could tell everyone was confused and curious as to why I was holding hands with her. I just ignored them and walked over to my seat, dragging Traytora along with . Thankfully my brother did rember to get soone to get so proper seating for Traytora, and next to

thankfully enough. I don’t know what I’d do if she wasn’t sat next to .

We started to make our way into the hall and all eyes were on us, my parents, my aunts and uncles, my cousins and my grandparents and grand aunts and uncles.

Only the sounds on my trotting and Traytora’s scales scraping along the floor were heard as all eyes were on us. We travelled along the long rectangular table towards our seats, near the head of the table where the patriarch normally sits. As we reached our spots along the table I saw my grandfather, Tobreos, the current patriarch of the family and councilman, looking at

with an inquisitive gaze.

I sat down and Traytora nervously sat on the seat that was obviously for her, it was basically just another sofa just without a back on it, just the arm rests, and wide enough for two people to sit on. She of course took the whole thing as nobody else was going to sit there.

Once we sat down, grandfather spoke up.

"Well, I’d like to thank everyone here for being able to make it on such short notice." His slightly hoarse masculine voice hollered out. "And a big thanks to Lycerous’ and Kharinna’s twins for finding the fabled prophesised chosen one, whom I assu this young lass is next to you." He exclaid while looking at

and gesturing to Traytora.

I nodded, affirming his claim. There was a small round of applause as my brother and I were congratulated with this rit. Grandfather then raised his hand half a minute later so that he could speak again.

"I’ve also heard that you have sothing to announce to everyone Cythistia, care to share?"

I blushed slightly as I stood up. "I..." I found it incredibly difficult to speak the words that I wanted to say, it was as if sothing within

was preventing

from saying them. "I-I... I’m..." Oh goddess why am I struggling like this?

As if getting impatient with my stuttering grandfather snapped at

and shouted, "Speak up!"

"I’m pregnant!" I blurted out in a panic.

The whole room was dead silent, nobody said anything and I felt a slight pressure weigh down upon . Until...

"Wonderful!!! I’m going to be a grandfather!!" My father shouted out ecstatically. "Did you hear that Kharinna! We’re going to be grandparents!!" He kept on yelling out deafeningly in his deep and powerful voice.

"Yes, yes I heard you the first ti, no need to blow out everyone’s eardrums again." My mother replied in her much more calm and mature voice.

"Ahahaha..." My father laughed embarrassedly, causing everyone else to burst out laughing at him for reacting so boisterously as he usually does. Grandfather raised his hand again and everyone quietened down once more.

"So, my dear granddaughter, who’s the father of your child?" He inquired with a slightly heavier tone and squinted eyes. Clearly he figured out who it was. I wasn’t surprised as his age brought him imnse wisdom, plus he probably had his people inform him of certain events.

I took a deep breath again as everyone else looked at

with a curious gaze, but behind that I could feel at least half of them looking at

with a judging gaze, as if they would berate

if I said sothing that went against their wishes.

I turned towards the side, now looking at Traytora. I felt the gazes on

change, so to understanding, so to confusion and the rest a criticising one.

I leaned forwards and raised my hands and cupped her face, bringing mine closer and closer. I heard so people making a ruckus by shifting their silverware from slamming their hands on the table, and probably propelling themselves to stand up to shout out in opposition.

*Smooch*

I kissed Traytora who was blushing like a tomato. The room went silent again, but I didn’t care anymore strangely enough. It felt like I had gotten rid of a huge weight off of my back and that I had nothing to lose anymore, nothing except her, the cute little snake in front of . I smiled lightly at her.

"HOW DARE YOU-" An argunt imdiately began.

"SHUT UP YOU BRAINLESS MORON! YOU’RE ONLY JEALOUS BECAUSE YOU STILL HAVEN’T FOUND SOONE YET!" My father Yelled at one of my uncles.

"HEY! He’s still in his pri! he can still find love!" One of my cousins said.

"Oh please! Will you two just fuck already! We’re tired of watching you two act like it’s a secret." One of my other uncles interjected.

"Y-YOU!!" The uncle who tried to say sothing bad about

stamred, not knowing how to reply.

Several other mbers of my family then started shouting at each other and hurling insults and spilling one another’s dirty secrets and overall letting out all of their frustrations. It wasn’t even about

and Traytora at this point but the family itself and the grievances they had with each other.

"ENOUGH!" Grandfather bood, loud enough for it to echo throughout the room a few tis. "I hope you have all let out your pent-up frustrations now because we have other things to attend to, like actually having lunch."

Everyone quietened down grumbling but ultimately listened to his words and got ready to eat lunch, which just so happened to be being served to everyone right now. I think grandfather knew this would happen and prepared beforehand for it, telling the servants only to co in when he shouted as he did.

We got served a nice soft and juicy grilled bear steak covered in a sweet honey and rose wine sauce with a side of roasted potatoes that were perfectly crispy on the outside but perfectly soft and fluffy on the inside. Alongside that there were carrots, sprouts, parsnips, stuffing and many other foods that were available in the middle of the table.

I had to fight for so of them as they went very quickly with everyone else wanting them as well. I managed to fill my plate up and began digging in to my al when I noticed that Traytora wasn’t eating, then I noticed that she barely had anything on her plate at all. I put my knife down and gave her a brief nudge, shaking her out of her trance.

She then made a sad pouty face, tears threatening to burst out of her eyes. I could tell that she was just upset that she didn’t get anything she wanted and not because of trauma or anything.

"Pfft."

I heard soone on the opposite side of the table snorting and turned to look at them angrily.

She looked back and said, "Oh relax, I just find her expression too amusing not to laugh. OW!"

It was one of my cousins, who was instantly smacked on the back of the head by her father for being rude. She then returned back to eating only to see her plate missing basically everything on it.

She stared at it for a while before looking up at Traytora and seeing that she had stolen her plate and replaced it with her own.

"Pfft." I heard several snickers this ti as many people almost burst out laughing at the scene.

"HEY!" She shouted, grabbing the attention of the nearby family mbers. anwhile Traytora just smirked mockingly as if to say that she had won or sothing.

"Dad!" She cried out.

"You deserve it dear." Was all the man said to her.

The look of shock on her face as her own father betrayed her was priceless and many of us burst out laughing.
