Chapter 290: What Happened Whilst I Was Away?

After spending the rest of that weekend in my inheritance, I finally left it with so imnse Progress to my [Enchanting] Skills. Not my [Forging] one’s though. I didn’t really feel like doing that.

I managed to get [Elegant Writing] up another level and found out that the difference between that and [Skilled Writing] was that the latter was about how quickly I did it, whilst the forr was about how well I wrote it.

I think the higher I get [Elegant Writing], the faster I can write runes in general in tandem with [Skilled Writing].

That wasn’t the only Skill that I levelled up though. I also levelled [Concentration] by one also. This Skill allowed

to focus more on the task at hand by blocking out other noises. And it’s not limited to just [Enchanting] also, I can use it in any activity that I want.

I think that and [Focused Mind] from my [Sub-Class] will work very well together.

Didn’t manage to get anything else up again though, which is unfortunate, but I’ll get there eventually.

And just before I left, I checked how much progress I had made.

And I was a little surprised. I’d made that much more progress in just two days?

I guess it kind of makes sense actually. I did move onto more complex things. Though I wouldn’t call this enchanting now that I’m thinking about it, it’s more like inscribing but whatever, it is what it is.

When I ca back to Krara city using the sa portal in the library, I left the academy and saw that it was past midday. I quickly found out that it was the last day of Ignorath week from a passing comnt.

With that in mind, I went and got so food and headed back to the orphanage at last. I didn’t sit down or lie on my bed because I knew that I would fall asleep pretty quickly because I haven’t slept on sothing like a soft mattress in a long while.

The reason I did this was because I wanted to figure out what to do with most of my stuff.

I had my money, a couple of spare maps, so weapons and resources for cultivating my power, the tools for my professions and now stacks upon stacks of paper.

Obviously I was going to sell the talismans and the arrays, but the question was how? People would be suspicious of where I got so many of these from if I just gave them all of them at once.

Which ant that I would have to sell them all off a small amount at a ti over a period of ti. But that would be too slow, so I have to think of another thod in the anti...

I can’t think of one. I suppose I can just slowly sell them off until I think of a better solution.

A couple of other things I have is the last potion that I have from that Lust dungeon, which is sothing that I have completely forgotten about despite it being on my hand the entire ti.

And the last few things include the weird sarcophagus I got from the treasury and Lilyvyn’s demon core. As well as sex toy’s but I haven’t had sex recently, nor have I been craving it either, which is a little weird but whatever.

Seeing that there was nothing else I could do with all my stuff, I shrugged and decided that I would return to my normal routine.

And that began by first going out to the dining hall and getting a proper al in . I’d only been snacking on so random things since I entered the inheritance, and I hadn’t had a proper al for like over half a week or so.

It was fairly early so I got a proper bath also after finishing because I did kind of sll after not washing for days on end.

When that was done, it was early enough for the much younger orphans to go to bed, and I went to sleep also as I wanted a proper night’s sleep in a soft and comfy place for once.

I got my satisfying sleep and woke up truly refreshed the next morning at around half nine where I then got up and went to go and have breakfast.

And when I got there, I t up with Ash and Asty after what felt like forever. We greeted each other and they asked

what I did.

I brushed it off and just said that I went sowhere to do so personal soul searching, though I could tell they didn’t buy it.

But being my friends, they understood that I had secrets, especially after I told them of just my demonic heritage.

I had lots of things I would rather have people not know about. And they thankfully understood that, for which I was eternally grateful for.

I then asked what they did but they didn’t say anything. They just looked at each other for a second before looking away blushing. I could see that their arms were suspiciously angled to the point where it was like they were holding hands or sothing.

I quickly realised what was going on and rested my head in my hands as I smirked at them, my ears wiggling in amusent knowing that they had gotten closer to one another.

They had beco very... Intimate with one another.

to intrude on their relationship now that it had ford. That would just create a wedge between them, and I didn’t want to ruin what they had.

Still, it was nice to know that love was blooming between them.

When I asked about David’s whereabouts, they said that he had unfortunately gone on a trip a couple of day’s ago with the rchant company he was both learning and working at.

I hope he’s safe. The company did hire two pretty decent adventurer teams as escorts, both groups at Gold rank, both of them having Platinum rank leaders, so they should be fine.

He apparently wanted to say goodbye to

but obviously I wasn’t here. I’ll have to apologise for that when he cos back.

In other news, apparently there had been reports of kidnappings happening within the northern and central areas of the city.

The city guard has been investigating it for the past week in secret so as to not alarm anyone, but now that it’s out in the air, they’re now doing their investigations openly, interrogating people on the street.

Ash said that if not for

telling them that I was going sowhere, they would’ve probably reported

missing yesterday.

We laughed it off, but I do believe those words. This does seem to be a serious thing as even after a week, they haven’t been able to find the perpetrator.

Weirdly enough, all the people that have gone missing have all been Naga’s. Which was strange, since this is the Naga kingdom.

Why would Naga’s of all races be going missing in this place?

Upon learning of this pattern, the Duchess declared that anyone who found out any information that might help would be rewarded.

So far, they had pieced together that all of the people had red scales, hair and were adept at fire magic, more than usual as well. They were also young and attractive.

Hearing this, I was a little irked, as I could’ve sworn that they were after . But who would be capable of that?

Certainly not my forr tutor, she had been dealt with apparently. And the Duchess’ nephew, although he had connections, wouldn’t be able to get away with this kind of thing under peoples noses like this.

It might be the organisation that Eric opposes, but I feel like that’s wrong as well. Why would they be after

anyways? As far as I’m aware, they likely don’t know anything about

except for the fact that I’m exceptionally strong and gifted at such a young age.

I can’t think of anyone else who would be doing this, nor can I think of why they would be doing this.

Regardless, there’s nothing I could do about this, nor did I want to involve myself with this. It seed more trouble than it was worth.

If I found sothing out, I would report it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to also actively investigate this matter myself or anything.

The rewards is probably only a monetary one anyways, so I wouldn’t need it. And even if there were other rewards, I doubt I’d need them for anything anyways.

Still, this was sothing I needed to look out for in case they really do try and kidnap . I doubt they’ll succeed given how much I have up my sleeve, but I still need to keep a lookout for such things just in case.

I also told Asty not to go anywhere alone because of this sa matter in case they try and take her also.

Ash was safe for obvious reasons, and I could take care of myself, but Asty was still a baby in our eyes because she had no experience.

She may have more proficiency in [Ice] magic, but that doesn’t an they won’t target her.

Both her and Ash told

that they were aware of this and were already doing such a thing together. That’s probably why they got so close in such a short amount of ti.
