Chapter 244: Thief
Ashtraz was late for school the following morning as I suspected she might be, but she didn’t seem to care all that much.
Hell, she still slled like sex even after taking a bath, albeit a rather short one as she didn’t want to be too late.
Still, she took her toys with her in embarrassnt and didn’t say a work about last night, probably too shy to talk about it. I’m sure she’ll be back to normal in a couple of days.
As for , I cleaned up a little and gathered my things before leaving. I would’ve also drained the sheets of all that sen also, but I just didn’t feel like it.
I want to be lazy for one. I can have that right?
Anyways, I inford the person at the reception and she said it was no problem and that they’ve dealt with these kinds of issues before.
I tried to inform her that this might be more than they’re used to but she insisted that it was fine.
She even told
of a story where there was once a room covered from top to bottom before. It was even all over the bathroom. There was so much in fact that it was spilling out into the hallway even.
After hearing that, I knew that they would be fine considering we only soaked the bed, with our fluids dripping down onto the floor after.
After that I got so breakfast on my way back to the orphanage and I was lucky enough to catch David on the way back.
And to no one’s surprise, he asked about my whereabouts last night, "Hey! There you are. The fuck have you been? And do you know where Ash was also? I know she’s probably at school by now, but it’d be nice to know where she was if you know."
"Busy fucking Ash." I replied bluntly with an innocent smile.
"Right that’s- WAIT A SECOND! You WHAT?!" He burst out loud like a maniac.
"Pffttt!! AHahahahahaha!!!" I couldn’t help but laugh at his outburst.
"OI! What’s the big idea? You think I’m so sorta clown!" He berated in anger demanding answers, "And what the fuck do you an by you were fucking Ash?!?!"
I continued to laugh at him as he made a mockery of himself and a few minutes later he realised what he had done when he noticed the crowd gathered around us.
He then promptly started to run away shouting, "I WON’T FORGET THISSSSSSSS!!!!!" His figure vanishing into the crowd and off toward school if I imagine.
He’ll probably pester Ash about it at lunch I imagine. And knowing her, she’ll probably end up punching him before he reveals it.
She is still a child in that aspect.
I smiled as I watched him run away and returned to heading back to the orphanage myself.

When I got back and entered my room, I noticed sothing was off.
I just so happened to have changed the sheets the night before last, and I’ve co back and they look like they’ve been used almost.
Soone’s been prowling around in my room for so reason. For what reason specifically? I don’t know. But soone’s been going through my stuff.
I checked and everything seed to be here, albeit a little ssed up and out of place here and there.
But apart from that, nothing seed to have been stolen. And if that’s the case, then why sneak into my room when I’m not here and make a ss?
I decided to report this to the caretakers whereupon they then took this to the city guard to investigate.
Apparently, there hasn’t been a case of soone doing sothing like this for hundreds of years now, since nobody would dare to offend the Duchess like that. As doing so is equivalent to offending her.
Still, this was a big issue, as it ant that soone wanted sothing that I own. But who, and what did they want from ?
*Sigh* ’Why does this have to happen the week before the entrance exam? I wanted a week of fun and relaxation, then do a bit of last-minute studying at the start of next week.’
I was currently sulking as I road aimlessly throughout the city. I got a kebab as a snack because I wanted it, and fulfilling that desire would make
a bit happier.
And before I knew, I had accidentally wandered into the slums district. That’s right, the slums have a space in the city.
It was more or less used to contain those who sohow couldn’t keep up with the surprisingly stable tax rate. That, or they have a debt they need to pay or sothing similar.
I looked extrely out of place seeing how clean I was compared to everyone else, which ant that anyone who was desperate might try and rob .
And I could feel several of such eyes on . And there were two sets of eyes on
that had a more intense desire, as if they wanted to act upon it. Maybe one of those gazes was the one to break into my room. Or maybe it was both.
But aside from that, there was also many gazes thrown at
filled with lust. Which isn’t unexpected. Hell, I get them even on the main streets. I’ve even thrown a few of such gazes out there myself. No one’s bothered by such gazes.
As for those two intense gazes, I decided to wander around for a bit to see if they would get lost or not. And if they didn’t, I would ’accidentally’ find my way into a dead end.
Or if I just genuinely found my way there and they showed up.
Eventually though, after like half an hour of wandering, I noticed one of the gazes leaving , with the other staying.
So I decide that it was about ti to have them reveal themselves. aning that I was now in a dead-end alley.
And to nobody’s surprise, when I turned around, there was a mysterious figure at the entrance.
"Why are you following ?"
They stayed silent for a mont before ignoring my words and asked their own question. "Where is it?"
The voice sounded like a prepubescent boy, but their stature said otherwise.
"No idea what you’re talking about."
"Don’t lie to !" He shouted in rage as he swung his hands around in an equal amount of anger. "I know you have it!"
"Have what? And even if I do have it, why should I give it to you?"
They put their arms down as they trembled.
"If you won’t give it to ... THEN I’LL TAKE IT FROM YOU!!!" He shouted as he lunged at .
But the thing was, this was a rather long alleyway, so he had to make several lunges to even reach .
And by the ti he was in range to cast a spell, which was fireball, I just cast one back at him.
The two balls of molten flas clashed and mine won, engulfing his and continuing to travel towards the guy.
He didn’t seem to have expected that, as he barely managed to dodge it in ti, though his cloak and robes seed to have been fringed a little because of it.
He growled and yelled, "How do you know that spell??"
I looked at him like he was an idiot, because he was. [Fireball] is a literal necessity in the desert as it correlates to your survival. If you can’t cast it, then how can you signal for help?
"Are you serious?" I questioned with an actually desire to know if he was joking or not, because Everyone born in the desert is at least taught how to use that spell regardless for their affinity for [Fire] or not.
"Also, why are you attacking ? I still don’t know what you want or why you’re after ."
He continued to growl in frustration, not wanting to answer my question.
"... Fine, if you don’t want to answer , then I’ll just kill you so you never try and steal from
again."
He flinched upon hearing
say that, taking a few steps back for every inch I made towards him.
"Afraid are we? What ever happened to trying to steal from ? After all, you’re the one who went through my room, aren’t you? Just what exactly are you after?"
That seed to be his limits as I pushed him over the edge as he lunged at
once more with his palm open, ready to grasp
as it glowed blue and purple like the stars above. That glow emitted an Aura I was familiar with
So he must’ve been after the items I bought from the auction, but upon not finding them in my room, he resorted to this.
Well, as they say, fight fire with fire. And in this case, I’ll use his own elent against him. I may not be very experienced with [Space] magic, but I’m sure that this will help
get used to it a bit more.
Plus I want to see the what kind of face he’ll make when he sees
use it.
So, I used [Spatial Barrier] and created a wall made from the fabric of space itself, taking the ti to learn the intricacies of how it works.
My father always taught
to do so as it would help if I ever want to learn or for so reason lose access to my Soul Scroll.
And by doing this, I could not only learn how it works and then improve upon it, I could also cast it without using it like the rest of my Skills.
