Chapter 196: A Kind Old Lady
I was shocked by how far I was able to cover before night fell. I don’t know how far I had actually gone as I had no way to tell. Either way, I knew that I’d be able to make it back to the desert so long as I wasn’t impeded too much on my way there.
When night fell, I realised that I had nowhere to stay, and it was getting kind of chilly now as well with the sun having set.
My body shivered slightly due to the chill if the night. I needed to find shelter and fast. I can’t rember the last ti I Had to sleep in such conditions.
If I was in the desert, the sand was soft enough to be a bed or just comfortable to lie on in general. It’s also surprisingly warm at night as well due to so magic crap that’s too high level for
to understand right now. I may be educated on how to survive, but that doesn’t an I know things like this.
But this place? These plains? It’s cold and hard, and the grass is really itchy on my skin. I don’t like it.
Still, there was nowhere else for
to go from here, so I either slept out in this field, or I kept on moving throughout the night. And while I could keep myself warm with my fire, I didn’t want to attract the attention of any unsavoury characters.
So, despite my better judgent, I kept on travelling through the grassy fields, occasionally spotting a tree here and there.

Several hours went by with no luck of finding any sort of shelter, not ever the tree’s were of any help, but finally, I saw sothing different off in the distance.
A hill.
And there was a light coming from behind it. The light was faint, but that ant that there was soone who was up at... I look up and see the positioning of the moon... At one in the morning? Maybe two?
Either way it was sothing, better than nothing, and I had no other choice as I was getting a bit tired by now. I could go long periods without eating, but not sleeping.
After a short trek up and over the hill, I ca across a huge wheat field. It seems that I’d accidentally stumbled upon a farm. And not too far off from the bas of this hill to the right, there was a small cabin with an old lady rocking in a rocking chair.
She was smiling at
calmly, which set off several of my nerves. Why was she so calm about seeing ?
"It’s alright deary, I won’t cause you any trouble. In fact, I’m willing to help you if you do little old
a favour." She asked in a sweet and kind elderly voice, laden with a lifeti of experience and wisdom.
Cautiously, I approached the porch to her little yet adorable cabin, that seed to have just about everything she needed.
"Co now, no need to be scared, I won’t bite. Take a seat, young one." She said, gesturing to a chaise that most definitely wasn’t there a mont ago. She chuckled at my reaction and spoke up once more, "No need to be so jumpy deary, I only an well for you. Besides, you look tired, I’m sure that you want so rest. Don’t worry, no harm will befall you with
here."
She was so comforting with her words, and she seed so genuine. I couldn’t detect any form of malice in her at all. I could just leave, it doesn’t look like she would try to stop . But I have a feeling that staying would be good for , so I slinked up onto the chaise, my tail obviously hanging a few tres off of the edge due to its length, but otherwise, it was really soft and comfortable.
It was so comfortable that I started to fall sleep then and there. I took one last glance at the old lady to see that she was just smiling at
with that sa caring and comforting smile as she quietly watched
drift off to sleep, gently rocking back and forth in her chair.
I closed my eyes soon after that and fell asleep into the realm of dreams.

When I woke up the next morning, I felt well rested and, happy? I can’t tell why, but I felt extrely happy for so reason.
"Ah, you’re awake now, and you seem to be in a good mood with that smile of yours, such a beautiful smile as well." The elderly lady greeted
awake and said sothing that shocked .
I was smiling? But... Why? My confusion caused my smile to fade.
"Aww, why’d you stop smiling? It truly was such a beautiful smile."
"S-Sorry, I just don’t know why I was smiling. I must’ve had a really happy dream. A sha I can’t rember it." I said with a hint of lancholy which was unbeknownst to .
The lady just continued smiling at
with the sa kindness as last night.
"A real sha that is... But at least you’re here to experience such things. Don’t dwell on the past too much if you’re not fond of it, strive forward to create mories that you’re proud and happy to have, okay?"
"Thank you... I don’t deserve such kindness..." I replied despondently.
"Oh don’t say such a thing dear, I’m sure that you’ll find it in the future, you just have to be patient." The old lady said in an effort to comfort , and it did a tiny bit, but not much overall.
"Now, with that out of the way, would you mind telling
your na?" She asked tranquilly.
"Oh, sorry."
"No need to apologise dear, just answer my question."
"Right, um... My na is Traytora." I introduced myself.
"Traytora...?" She ushered
to fill out my na further.
"T-Traytora Arizaraa."
"Hmm..." She didn’t seem to be entirely satisfied with that answer. "I know that you’re a demon born of great lineage. Don’t worry, I don’t intend to rat you out or anything, I just want to know for my own personal curiosity is all."
I tensed up upon hearing that she knew I was a demon, but when she said that she didn’t want to harm , I felt sowhat relaxed. I don’t know why, but I felt safe around this lady, which was suspicious on its own.
But I still told her my full na, "Traytora A-Asm-modeus Arizaraa."
Her eyes widened in disbelief as I dropped my father’s na.
"That’s... Quite the lineage you’ve got..." Was all she was able to say.
"Oh right, where are my manners." But she seed to get out of her shock and return the greeting, "My na is Kronia Vestra."
