Chapter 194: Dungeon Gone
(No POV)
The entire dungeon space started to tremble and the mountain that it was embedded in started to rumble.
The adventurers that were outside the mountain and in the mining tunnels themselves panicked and scrambled to run away. The vendors were the sa, packing their stuff as best they could before running away.
As for the guards, they were currently trying to calm everyone down, but when they saw more adventurers running out from the mining tunnel they gave up on their task and prioritised the protection of the people, helping out in packing the stuff of the vendors and helping people who had fallen down up.
The rumbling lasted for a couple more minutes before it stopped. Thankfully no one had been hurt aside from a few bruises and scratches here and there.
The guards were the first ones to go back and check things out. They returned to plateau and aside from being a bit ssy here and there, with so people’s stuff having been dropped on the ground.
And soon after confirming everything was okay, they were about to go back down the mountain path to let everyone know that it seed fine right now when they heard sothing from inside the mine tunnels.
The two guards looked at one another and had the sa thought, so they went up to the mines to receive what they assud would be the adventurers, but as they were running back, they saw that it was actually a rather tall snake lady, standing at around two tres tall, maybe a bit taller.
The guards were shocked as this was the last thing that they expected to see when they. They were expecting droves of adventurers, but not this.
When the serpentine fully erged from the cave, she covered her eyes from the sting of the sunlight.
They drew their weapons and one of them yelled, "Halt! Who are you? What are you doing here? Where did you co from? Wh-"
"Dude." The other one interrupted. "Let her answer you fucking questions before you ask more."
"R-Right, sorry." The guard that initially spoke up apologised before looking back at the serpentine. "Answer my questions now or else you’ll be in a lot of trouble."
(Traytora POV)
After hugging the two sister’s goodbye, the dungeon finally disappeared and teleported everyone outside and into the tunnel connecting to it.
When that happened, I was separated from the two of them as everyone was dumped outside randomly and sporadically, aning that nobody was next to soone they knew unless they were lucky.
As for , I was lucky enough to be relatively close to the way out of here. So I slinked my way through the crowd, trying my best not to draw peoples attention, which was actually pretty easy as everyone seed to be looking around for their mates.
And to make myself look less suspicious I also looked around as if I was trying to find soone but in reality I was just trying to escape the crowd.
"Ow!" I winced as soone accidentally stepped on the end of my tail without knowing, so I slipped it upwards causing whover it was to step on
to fall over. The people around him then went ahead and asked him what happened and if he needed help, which was good as that ant more people would distraction helping him and not paying attention to .
With this distraction, I was able to make my way out of the crowd and then able to slink away while no-one was looking. Thankfully the signs were still here so I could find follow them to get out of this place quickly enough.
And after so ti trekking through the tunnels, I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I smiled and sped up as I was getting a bit sick of this tunnel.
When I erged the sunlight blinded my eyes a little bit since I hadn’t been in its presence for a while so I shielded my eyes from it by raising my arm. I may have [Dark Vision] but that doesn’t an my eyes aren’t adjusted to act like everything is in direct sunlight.
"Halt!"
Then I heard soone shouting at . And looking through my squinting eyes, I would vaguely make out the silhouettes of two guards. One of them spewed several questions before getting shot down by his mate for being so hasty.
He apologised to his co-worker before addressing
again. "Answer my questions now or else you’ll be in a lot of trouble."
I figured it would be a bad idea to resist as that would cause trouble for , likely with
becoming a wanted person inside of this kingdom. So I just answered their questions to avoid trouble.
"My na is Traytora. I just ca from the location of the dungeon, which is gone now by the way."
"Gone? How?" The guard, who sounded male, but as my eyes adjusted to the sunlight, I could make out that he was indeed a human man. I didn’t want to assu anything until I could confirm.
Ignoring that fact, I answered his question, "Soone likely completed the dungeon and took the core out, causing everyone to be sent out of the dungeon."
"And why are you the only one that has co out since?" The man inquired.
"Because I went in alone to follow a pink sli. When they led
to where they wanted to, I did what they wanted
to do there and then just explored the rest of the dungeon, having so fun until it was cleared." I lied partially as what I said was technically the truth, I just left out so details.
"Wait a second..." The other guard who was also a male guard piped up. "I know you, you were in one of the reports of the previous guards posted here."
"Wait really? Which one?" His fellow guardsn asked.
"You would know that Derrik if you’d actually read the damn things."
"Oh I’m sorry Eric, but I’m not reading that textbook of a report." The man supposedly nad Derrik remarked back at his partner nad Eric with a sneer.
"Hah... This is why you’ll never get promoted Derrik." Eric sighed.
"Um... Can I go now?" I asked awkwardly as I didn’t want to stay here for too long lest the adventurers co out and figure out that I took the core or sothing.
"Oh, yeah, yeah that’s fine, you’re free to go." Eric said as he relaxed his stance and pulled his weapon back. "Oh, and could you tell everyone on your way down that the dungeons gone. You don’t have to explain, just say that I told you to say it and you should be able to get past easily enough."
"Sure." I nodded my head and slithered past them and began trekking down the mountain.
