Chapter 177: Touching Reunion
"D-D-Dad?" I muttered under my breath.
"Don’t worry sweety, it’s really , I’m here for you." He said calmy, arms still open wide.
I burst into tears and quickly slid over to him and jumped into his arms as he embraced
with a warm hug.
"There, there. It’s okay now, papa’s here for you." He consoled
with his gentle words and soothing fatherly voice.
I just hugged him and cried onto his shoulder unable to respond properly because of the sheer overwhelming emotions within . My father just let
cry all my emotions out onto his shoulder as he gently stroked his hands firmly on my back.
We stood there for a while, unmoving as we let our emotions out, our longing for one another finally satiated.
Eventually I sputtered the word, "I-I Missed y-you." My voice quivering as I finally spoke to my father again.
"I missed you too my sweet." He replied, his own voice shaking ever so slightly.
We then stood there for several more minutes in silence until father pulled away. I wasn’t satisfied with that and held my arms around him tighter.
"Can we... Can we just stay like this a bit longer?" I asked longingly, even though we’d just had a very long hug, I still wanted more.
"That’s fine, we can hug for as long as you like." Father said gently as he continued to hold
in his tender embrace.
Eventually I pulled out of the hug so that I could sit on father’s lap and lean onto his toned muscular chest. I felt safe in it, I felt that nothing would ever be able to hurt
in his arms. And... I missed his loving embrace.
"It’s good to finally see you again, Traytora. You have no idea how much I’ve missed you."
"Mm, I’m happy to see you again too. I’ve had so many sleepless nights just because I wanted to be with you... Why, just why did you have to leave ?" I was glad that he was here again, but the resentnt for him leaving , which I didn’t know I had until now, burst out as I lashed out at him.
He just sighed and pulled
in closer to him as he began to explain. "It’s not like I wanted to leave you, it’s just that my ti in the mortal realm had ended, but I’m sure you already knew that. Still, if I didn’t return, the gods would have gotten angry at
and waged a war over this matter. Tch, suck fickle beings they are. All I wanted was to spend more ti with you but nooo, they wanted
to go back to hell to ’maintain my duties’ what a load of bullshit! My presence isn’t needed to maintain any part of hell! They just wanted to get rid of
because they feared my presence in the mortal world!"
He went on an angry tirade about the forces against him. "They knew I wasn’t going to do anything unless provoked, but they were afraid regardless! I could’ve stayed for longer, but because of them, I was forced to return!"
He took a deep breath to calm down before continuing, "It’s not that I wanted to leave you when I did, as even without their interference, I would’ve had to return anyways as my existence here would have influenced the flow of the world and everyone in it. THAT should’ve been the ti for them to make
return, and by then, I would’ve taught you everything that you wanted and unlocked all of your latent powers and abilities."
"They were afraid of not just , but also you! And I fear that they conspired against
with Diablo now that I think about it. Damn bastards!" He sighed and finished speaking. "Anyways, the short answer is that I was forced against my will to by a bunch of cowardly bastards that were afraid of both of us, but mainly you reaching your full potential. Unfortunately for them, I’ve made sure to interfere and stop them from doing so, allowing you to grow as you have."
"Hoo... Sorry about the rant, I just needed to get that off of my chest." He apologised.
"... It’s okay dad, I’m not mad at you, I’m just angry that you had to leave."
"Well, I’m here now, even if our ti together in this mont is short, I want to make it count." He said with conviction.
" to. Is it okay if we just lay here like this for a while?" I asked as I felt comfortable in his lap.
He patted my head and chuckle and said, "Of course, you can stay like this as long as you want."
We then sat there in silence for a while before I asked, "So, I have several questions."
"Ask and ye shall receive."
"Well, firstly I wanted to ask why’re you doing this for ? I an, I know you want to support , but is there anything beyond that?"
"No, I just want to give this to you to show that I still care about you. I guess you could say that this is also to make Loki pay for his failure."
"Really? You’re not doing this to like, upset the gods or sothing?" I asked with scrutiny.
"Hmm... I guess that also, but it wasn’t the main reason, more of just a bonus thing that I get to do." Father answered calmly. "So, your other questions?"
"Mmm..." I took a mont to think, as I knew I couldn’t ask them all, so I had to choose certain ones before our ti was up. With that in mind I asked, "What’s with this Diablo guy?"
Fathers face imdiately turned dark. His brows were furrowed and his expression was grim. "Nothing to concern yourself with, okay?" He said in a serious tone, on that I had only ever heard him use once before. This tone ant that I shouldn’t pester him for more answers, despite the fact that I was curious, I figure that he would only do this for my own good.
"Okay..." With that, silence descended upon us once more, except this ti, it was a bit more unsettling than before because of the atmosphere.
I decided to break the silence by asking "When... When will you be able to co back? I miss you. I want to be able to hug you for real again."
Father sighed as his expression softened as he began to pat my head lovingly. "As much as I want to, I don’t know how long I have to be stuck here, as those bastards might not let
back up. I’ll say this though, I will co back soday, I just don’t know when, as technically I overstayed my welco last ti to be with you."
"As much as I want to go back, I would also need soone to perform the right ritual to summon . He~ It was honestly a fluke that I was even able to do so last ti and et your mother. I miss her."
"I miss her too. It’s been so long that I-I don’t even rember w-what she lo-oked like." I started to break down and cry again.
Father embraced
in another hug filled with his love. He then said, "If you want, I can give you a mory crystal. It will have all the mories that I have of her since the ti you were born, except maybe the sex if you don’t want to see that kind of things."
Through my sniffling voice, I managed to say, "I-I’d like th-that. Y-You can give it to Lily wh-when she g-gives you my- my lettter, s-so that sh-she can g-give it to
next ti we m-et."
"Mm, I’ll get that prepared for you then. Is there anything else you’d like to ask? Or do you just want to stay like this for now?"
"I-I just wanna stay like th-this for now."
And so that’s what we did. I rested in my father’s tender and loving embrace and soon fell asleep.
