Chapter 175: The Heart of the Dungeon

After several more hours of travelling, I was getting ntally exhausted. I pushed through the tiredness and trudged through. I may fall unconscious due to overexerting myself, but I trust that the slis are just testing

or sothing, and that they’ll carry

the rest of the way.

I passed out. I expected this and just as I thought, the slis carried

to safety. But I wasn’t exactly sure where we were at first glance. That glance also allowed

to count the slis up again to find ten of them here now.

Not surprised. What I was surprised about was the fact that we were currently sat atop a blood red piece of flesh in the middle of what could be considered an underground blood lake.

...

What now? What exactly am I supposed to do here? Swim out of this place? To where? It’s not exactly like the slis are in a particular hurry or anything so all I could do was wait.

So I laid down on the floor and waited. I got up so ti later as I felt sothing wet on my tail, and I realised that the blood was actually rising.

I theorised as to why this was happening and ca to the conclusion that maybe this was the heart filling up with blood that it would eventually be flushed out like the pumping of a heart.

Who knows how long that will take though? This little island here will probably have been sunk by then.

Eventually the blood rose to the top of the island as I suspected, and my tail even started to float because of this. I was about to get up when I heard a guttural sound coming from within the blood.

I felt the blood levels lowering rapidly as I sat up to see what was happening. I could see the walls and the ceiling all around

getting smaller and closing in on us. I guess that this is the heart pumping blood out of itself, though viewing it like this felt weird, not only because this isn’t how hearts actually work, but also because it was just really terrifying to witness.

I quickly noticed the slis hastily moving down the receding bank of the island and quickly followed.

At the bottom of the lake, when it finally emptied out, I found myself before a ritual platform. The slis got on it and waited for

to get on as well. I got on as well as I didn’t want to wait for the blood to fill up and then drain again as I had no idea how long that would take.

When I got onto the platform, nothing happened, but as soon as the blood filled back up enough to surround the base of this thing, which thankfully didn’t take too long, it activated and a blinding blood red light that quickly turned pure white overwheld my senses as I covered my eyes to shield them from the brightness.

When that brightness receded I found myself in another fleshy room, except this looked like a brain, with its pink wrinkly appearance.

I looked around and saw that I was now surrounded by eleven slis. Okay, but why? I don’t rember getting stuck or anything? Well, it’s not like I can do anything about this anyways.

Actually... Why are these guys even supposed here? I only needed one of them to take

here, I think... Eh, it’s whatever.

I looked around the place once again and saw that in the middle of this space, there was a statue of so serpent-like creature. Its form reminded

of Nachash. Its mouth was open and inside said mouth was a glowing pink orb, more than likely the dungeon’s core.

That wasn’t the only thing here though, as there were several other orbs of a foggy white colour dotted around the place and floating mysteriously in the air.

I move over to one and place my hand upon it. I get the feeling that I’ll be able to see into it if I just exert my will into it. So, I did that, and what I saw was witnessing an adventuring party fucking each other inside of a sealed chamber of so sort. It reminded

of the first trap I ca across in this place.

I went and checked another orb and found that it showed an empty room with three chests in it. I was about to stop watching when I saw a party co across the room and entered it. The entrance was closed off as soon as all of them entered.

’Hmm? Wait, I can interact with the dungeon. I could open the door for them to get out, I can even change the contents of the chest and even turn them into mimics!’

This discovery shocked

to my core, as it ant that I could control the dungeon from in here. If that was the case, then that ant that this was the master room! Then that ans...

I looked back over at the crystal in the statue in the middle of the room.

’That must be the dungeons core! But... Why am I here then?’

I slither over to the statue holding the core and give it another look. If this was the dungeon core, then why was I taken here? What’s the point of

being here? Am I supposed to take this for myself, or sothing else?

’Seriously, what is the point of

being here?’

I took another look around the room to see if there was anything else that I had missed, but it was just the pink fleshy surroundings encasing this room, the floating foggy white orbs, the slis and this statue.

That really was all that was in here. I couldn’t even see so kind of platform like the one that teleported

here to get out of this place. Which an that I had to use the dungeon core to do so.

I don’t know what will happen as I’ve never done this before, but here goes nothing.
