Chapter 132: Preperations
It was noon the day after the council eting and I was having lunch out with the guys from work, and they were asking how the eting went.
I completely forgot to ask them if they would mind making use of our services. Fuck.
"So, what are the plans fer this situation?" One of the female dwarves nad Loleare asked while taking a bite out of sothing called a club sandwich.
’Well, I’m going to be part of an elite team while others slowly exterminate their forces from the outside.’ I answered.
"Oh? And what does this elite team do eh?" Derik asked curiously whilst biting a chunk out of a chicken leg.
’Well the basic premise is...’ I then continued explaining that my team would basically just sneak into their central base of operations and strike them and do as much damage as possible before retreating.
"I see... Oh, did ye ask bout offerin our skills by the way?" Harmur asked.
I looked away in guilt and flat out just said, ’No. I forgot.’
"Ah, don’ worry bout it, is more a request on my part in the first place. I’m sure they’ll co te us regardless. They’ll need ta kit out their n." Said Harmur, unbothered by my forgetfulness.
I smiled, and reflected on my life while eating a kebab.
’I don’t deserve this.’ I though lancholically. I looked up at the cloudy sky, thinking back. ’I shouldn’t be here right now.’
I heard soone call out my na, "Traytora?"
"Hmm?" I looked to see who it was and saw Harmur looking at
with concern.
"I know that look yer makin, whateva yer thinkin, stop thinkin it, don’t look back on the past, focus on the future."
’Sorry.’
"Don’t be sorry lass, jus try ta think positive from now on, aye?"
"Mmm." I thanked him and went back to eating lunch.

Several days had passed since then and Harmur was indeed right, people ca representing the council and asked for a mass order of several things to be made in the next two weeks.
We had been hamring away at making these things like our lives depended on it, which they kind of did. I ended up getting relegated to the task of providing magical and enchanted fires to everyone. It was very tiring but I was able to help out a lot, giving
a sense of satisfaction like I’d never felt before.
I couldn’t quite describe how it felt, I just knew that it felt good, and I hoped to do more in the future.
I continued helping out in the workshop up until a couple of days before the extermination began. I was back at ho, resting up so that I could properly face this with my full focus.
Which is why I was currently sitting in the bath with Cythistia. She had gotten sick over the past week due to overworking her body and was resting beside .
Even if she wasn’t sick, she was still pregnant so both, her father and grandfather placed her under house arrest to forcefully stop her from working, otherwise she might overwork herself and have a miscarriage if that’s even possible.
"I’m sorry for worrying everyone, I just want to do my part in this to help is all." She apologised for causing the emotional wreck everyone had when she first got sick.
’You should know better than to endanger our child and yourself. Never do such a thing again.’ I admonished her.
She sighed, "I know. It’s just... I want to help, I’m not able to participate in the hunt because I’m pregnant, and I can’t help defend for the sa reason, but I don’t want to feel like dead weight. I-I just... I just want to help."
I comforted her by giving her a hug, which she gave back. We eventually pulled apart and got out of the bath. I scolded her again for not thinking about the consequences of her actions, but I was just glad to see her okay.
I then spent the rest of the day in bed cuddling Ayuri’s tail. What? It was comfy and relaxing, how was I not supposed to do this? It was bound to happen at so point anyways.
The next day I did pretty much the sa thing and just relaxed as much as possible so that I could be at my peak to kill demons.
Do I feel remorse at the thought of killing my kin? No. Absolutely not, they are not the sa as , they are inferior and frankly, should be eradicated even from hell itself. I’m not talking about all demons, just these rabid ones that are infesting the forest or ones very similar to them.

Today was the day that we would be going out and killing these vermin. Everyone was up and getting ready, putting their armour on and equipping their weapons and other utilities we might use during this excursion.
I had two daggers at each of my sides as well as a small satchel filled with three healing and three mana potions. I also wore so leather and chainmail armour as just so extra protection. I doubted that I would need it but they insisted that I wear it as you could never be too careful, hence they made everyone wear sothing for their own safety, which is fair.
Joining
on my team would be Dorrak. It was nice to et up with him again. We hadn’t spoken since the dungeon raid, and after that ordeal was over, he went straight back to goblin hunting. And when the sudden surge of demonic forces ca, he supposedly saved nurous amounts of people from the initial stampede that appeared when it happened.
Like everyone else, he was wearing so simple leather to add so extra layers of protection. Unfortunately, due to his large stature, he couldn’t wear any chainmail because we didn’t have any for his size.
Soon enough, everyone was ready to put the plan into action, with myself, Dorrak and a few other powerful people being led by the patriarch of the Darkhide himself.
Our group quickly and silently rushed out of the city after bidding everyone a farewell, fading into the trees, the city behind us growing smaller and hiding behind the trees bodies the further in we went.
Eventually we went so deep into the forest that we physically couldn’t see the city anymore and stopped there.
"Alright, this is where stealth becos crucial, so don’t make any noise and just follow my lead, and when the fight starts, that’s when we go in, understood?" The patriarch asked.
All of us nodded in response.
"Good, when we get in there, and I give the signal, I want all of you to cause as much destruction and devastation as you possibly can." He ordered, slowly creeping towards the demon’s base, waiting for the battle to begin.
