Chapter 114: Another Out of Body Experience
My mind awakened to find myself inside of a completely white space.
I knew what was going on right now, I’d done this too many tis at this point.
My soul had been pulled into a new spiritual plane of so kind.
I observed my surroundings and saw that as usual, it was so kind of infinite expanse of whiteness, although this one seed to have a floor for so odd reason.
I looked down and saw that I had a fleshy body, which ant that I wasn’t actually in so spiritual plane.
I looked around once more to see where I was and it was still just a white nothingness.
I tried to talk but as soon as it did it felt like my throat was going to tear. It would seem that this place is so sort of semi-plane, one that’s in between the physical and spiritual ones. At least that’s what I can speculate.
"Well well well! Isn’t this interesting? Soone actually managed to create a connection." A voice laced with layers upon layers of different intentions.
Since I couldn’t speak in whatever physical sense there was here, I tried to use my normal thod of communication, runes.
Except those didn’t work either.
"Hmm, you seem to not understand how to speak here. Do you even know where here is?" The voice laughed with a deep sneering insult.
I trembled at the remarks towards . It’s not like I ever wanted to be incapable of speaking.
The voice continued laughing, eventually turning into a sharp laughter, "Hahahahaha! Aha... ha... ahhh, Calm down, I’ll teach you how to speak here. It’s simple really, all you have to do is just impose your will and project your voice, simple as that."
I sighed and tried to do as he said.
’Wait, what should I even say? Who even is this man? Oh! I’ll just ask him that.’
I focused my mind and did as he said and asked, "Who are you?" And was shocked to see that it actually worked.
*CLAP* CLAP* CLAP*
"Well done, impressive I must say, people don’t usually succeed on their first try." The voice seed impressed. "I suppose as a reward, I’ll answer your question."
As soon as those words were spoken, the infinite white started to gain colour, slowly turning into a verdant forest garden, with vibrant green leaves and grass that swayed gently in so non-existent wind.
The trees were neatly planted in a row, creating a beautiful pathway to a clearing that was paved with a myriad of colourful flowers.
I slithered forward to the clearing, which now had a table and chairs with a tea set on it. The table and chairs were made of white swirling shaper with golden flowers dotted all over their supports.
In one of the chairs was a being made of light, which seed to just be a mask, as the closer I got to them and the table, the more the light faded and revealed the figure of a tall elven man.
He was calmly sipping on so tea as I approached.
"Take a seat." He gestured to the other chair.
I was rather sceptical about this whole situation for a number of reasons.
One of them being the way his voice changed whenever he spoke. The second being the plane itself, it was weird, it wasn’t like the real world or the spiritual plane, it was so strange combination of both that copied only certain aspects of both.
I cautiously sat down on the chair and looked at the man opposite .
"Oh relax a bit, it’s only us here."
"..."
"What? Sothing on my face?"
"I’m not buying it." I said emotionlessly.
*GAAASSSPP!!!*
He gasped eccentrically, and then his deanour changed to a serious one.
He clasped his hands together and placed his smiling head upon them. "You’re not easy to deceive. Though, that is to be expected of a demon."
"Who are you?" I repeated my question.
"Straight to the point, huh? Well to answer your question, I am Loki, God Chaos and Mischief."
I jumped out of my chair in shock, backing away from the evil god.
"Hahhh..." He sighed, lowering his head. "It’s always like this." He seed, sad?
"Listen, just because I’m a God of Chaos and Mischief, doesn’t an that I’m evil. Yes, I’m a conniving bastard, but that doesn’t make
inherently evil."
"Just because you say that doesn’t an I’ll trust you." I told him.
"And that’s fine, I’m not asking you to."
"So, what exactly do you want then? You wouldn’t have co here if you didn’t want anything."
"You’re correct, I do want sothing. But I won’t ask for a free lunch, so is there anything you want from ?" He asked coyly.
"What CAN you give ?" I asked back.
"Hmm, good question, indeed, what can I give you? Hmm..." He rubbed his chin while looking at the sky with his eyes closed. "Tell
sothing, do you know where exactly we are right now?"
"Uhh... So form of semi-spiritual plane?" I answered, slightly uncertain about my answer.
He chuckled, "You could say that. But no, fundantally, you are wrong, as where we are, is inside the Dungeon Core."
"W-What?" I stuttered, the shock of where we are not properly registering in my mind.
"Oh don’t look so shaken, if you think about it, this actually makes sense." Loki said with a carefree chuckle.
I looked at him in confusion.
"Well, go on, think about it, it does make sense." He encouraged.
I did as he asked, not because I wanted to, but because I was afraid of what would happen if I didn’t.
’Right, so this place is supposedly the Dungeon Core, and Loki is the God of Mischief, and one of the few old gods that weren’t sealed away. Obviously, I’m here because of this link that I’ve created, but what about him?’ I looked up at him, still smiling and drinking tea.
He waved at
without a care in the world, saying, "Take your ti."
I continued racking my brain as for possible reasons as to why he was here but it ca up empty.
*Sigh* "I give up."
"You give up?!?" He hollered. "I wasn’t expecting that."
"I know why I’m here, but I can’t understand why you would be here."
"Ahh, well, the reason I’m here is because I’m the God of Dungeons. You see, when these things were placed upon these lands as a curse, I thought, ’Ooh Chaos’ and took control of them, then one thing led to another and now I’m basically the god of all dungeons." He explained animatedly, before shrugging at the end.
"That doesn’t explain a lot." I said.
"It explain enough!" He yamred.
I was about to retort when I realised, he was right. He smirked at
with a sneer in his eyes. I wanted to lash out but managed to keep calm.
"So what can you give ?" I asked, reminding him of his earlier offer.
"Well, I am only capable of offering what this forr Dungeon Core is capable of." He explained.
"..." I thought silently for a mont, and then I ca up with a brilliant idea.
"I know what I want."
"Good!" He exclaid. "Then-"
I cut him off before he could say anything else, "But I want to know what you want first. Also, show
your real form."
His expression changed as his features started to be remoulded into a pale, slim and lanky figure with mismatched green leather robes edged in gold and a purple crystal spiked crown atop his head.
This was the true God of Mischief.
This was Loki.
