Gabriel and gumi Kato arrived almost simultaneously, even bumping into each other at the entrance of the mansion.
When they first saw each other at the gate, both froze for a mont, wondering if they had co to the wrong place.
On one hand, Shin's new house was just too big. Such a massive estate clearly belonged to soone wealthy and influential, not a place a high school student like Shin could afford.
On the other hand, both of them noticed that the other was also heading toward this house—since Gabriel and gumi Kato didn't know each other, they subconsciously assud the other might actually be the owner of the house.
However, they were quickly proven wrong when soone ca out from inside to greet them.
"Welco. You must be Miss Gabriel and Miss gumi Kato, right?"
Tohru, dressed in a maid outfit, looked at Gabriel and gumi Kato with a forced smile—there was no doubt she thought these were just two more "howrecking cats" coming to steal Shin from her.
"I'm Tohru, the head maid of the Shin household."
She still had dragon horns on her head and a thick dragon tail behind her, retaining certain dragon-like features to make it clear she was a dragon maid.
Of course, she had used cognitive confusion magic, so normal people couldn't see her dragon horns and tail—they would just think she was an ordinary maid, albeit one with a more ample chest than most.
gumi Kato looked at Tohru in surprise. Part of it was because she hadn't expected Shin to have a maid, and such a beautiful one at that.
The other part was her shock that Tohru had even noticed her—for so reason, ever since she started interacting with Shin, more and more people seed to be noticing her.
Including Gabriel, whom she had just t at the door—Gabriel had clearly noticed her too.
Gabriel's reaction, however, was quite unique. She sized Tohru up from head to toe, then nodded seriously:
"Oh, oh, dragon horns and a dragon tail, very non-human-like. So Shin's into this kind of thing?"
Gabriel easily accepted the idea of a beautiful girl like Tohru living in Shin's house—after all, with Shin's good qualities, if he didn't have so girls around him, she'd start to suspect he might be gay.
"Eh?"
"Huh?"
Tohru and gumi Kato's voices rang out simultaneously as they both looked at Gabriel, their expressions differing.
Tohru's expression was full of seriousness and suspicion—she had clearly used cognitive confusion magic, which should have made it impossible for ordinary people to see her dragon horns and tail, so how could Gabriel see them?
gumi Kato, on the other hand, looked puzzled. Dragon horns and a dragon tail? She hadn't seen anything like that at all.
While Gabriel was off at Shin's house, Vignette had gone to Gabriel's workplace.
Angel Café—from the na of the shop alone, it seed like the perfect part-ti job for soone like Gabriel. Vignette couldn't help but wonder if Gabriel had chosen this place because of the na.
However, considering Gabriel only started working after becoming a complete MMO addict, Vignette figured it was probably just a coincidence.
Because Gabriel had sold the Apocalyptic Horn—a potentially world-ending artifact—to Shin for the price of a set of in-ga equipnt, Vignette now had to figure out a way to make enough money to buy it back from him.
Even though Vignette was a demon from Hell, her personality was much more suited to being an angel, so of course, she didn't want sothing that dangerous falling into anyone's hands.
Even though Shin didn't seem like a bad person, and humans couldn't even blow the Apocalyptic Horn, Vignette still needed to retrieve it.
But since the culprit in this situation was the MMO-addicted Gabriel, it should be Gabriel who took responsibility for earning the money.
Vignette had thought that after giving Gabriel a serious lecture, she'd at least temporarily reign in her gaming addiction and focus on working to make so money.
But when she arrived at Angel Café and asked the kind-hearted store manager, she was told, "Gabriel hasn't co in to work."
"GABRIEL—!!!"
Vignette angrily flung open the door to Gabriel's apartnt and stord inside.
She had a key to Gabriel's place—partly to help tidy up for her, but mostly to keep an eye on her when necessary.
Like now. Gabriel had sold such an important item, and yet she wasn't making any effort to earn money to buy it back. This made Vignette furious.
But after opening the door, Vignette froze—Gabriel wasn't even in her room.
It was Sunday, and there was no school. Gabriel usually holed up at ho gaming, but today she wasn't working or gaming at ho...
"Strange, where did Gabriel go?"
Vignette's first thought was, Could Gabriel have found a new part-ti job?
But then she reconsidered—knowing how lazy Gabriel was, the chance of her finding new work seed pretty slim.
However, Vignette soon found a clue—Gabriel's laptop was still on in her room.
The laptop screen was clearly displaying a ga.
Even though Gabriel had left ho, her in-ga character was still online—after all, Shin had splurged on a set of powerful equipnt for her. Wouldn't it be a waste not to leave it online for others to admire?
Gabriel's logic made perfect sense to MMO players, but because the ga was still running, Vignette could see the private ssages on the screen.
It turned out Gabriel had gone to Shin's house.
"GABRIEL… YOU!"
Vignette's face turned bright red with anger. Here she was, working so hard to scrape together money, while Gabriel wasn't even working—she had gone to play at Shin's house instead.
And judging by the chat tistamps, Gabriel had been there for half a day—it was already afternoon, and Gabriel had gone over in the morning.
Thinking about this, Vignette wanted to rush over to Shin's house and drag Gabriel out.
But then Vignette realized she didn't even know where Shin lived—he had sent the address to Gabriel's phone, and there was no specific address ntioned in the in-ga chat.
With no other option, Vignette pulled out her phone and found Shin's contact information.
To be honest, this was the first ti Vignette had ever ssaged a boy, so she was a little nervous typing it out. But soon enough, she hit send:
"Shin, where do you live? Can I co to your house?"
In Vignette's mind, she was obviously sending this ssage to track down Gabriel.
But if you looked at the ssage out of context... it sounded just a little bit ambiguous.
