'For sure, the basis is the rune. It holds the mana and determines the elent, maybe even the aspect. We already know that the form can be overlapped by us imaging a certain outco. Which would be imposing mageia over it. Chanting, we know it isn't common, but Itireae did it.'
'Which must an that it actually has certain uses.' Eldrian finished the sentence, this was news. As far as they knew chanting was only required to start the activation of a spell module. Most mages upon reading Tier 5 would be able to do so ntally, no longer needing to say the word aloud.
'But how would we use this?' Eldrian questioned next, if it was just envisioning the rune it would be easy. However, drawing a rune wasn't possible while in pitch combat.
'Always one to think of the use only when in a lee...' Two sighed, 'You really need to stop thinking like that. Just consider what you did in the siege using the cannonballs. If we can cast a spell of such impact reliably, without spirit magic and its costs and dangers. Why would we want to use it in lee?'
Eldrian turned red from embarrassnt, 'You're right. But are we sure it is safer than spirit magic?'
'It certainly should be. It does not rely on emotions, though I am certain we can add them if we want to be risky.'
'Besides, we already know that runes are one of the most stable types of magics. Heck, all crafts are far more stable than casting. The only things more stable are, no, I don't even think abilities are as stable as crafts.'
Solvi finally managed to overco the shock at the success, turning to Eldrian who was spacing out she sighed. Here she was trying to wrap her head around it and he was already analyzing it.
"What did you discover?" She asked, moving past her pride as soone who had stabilized her Tier 8 basis and now needed to solidify her growth.
In terms of Tier, she was now at the apex in most kingdoms. Yet, besides Eldrian she felt like she was just a normal person. His way of experinting and actually succeeding, be it through luck or talent. It was simply beyond the normal levels one could even expect of a genius.
The most shocking part was she didn't consider him a genius. Not in the conventional sense at least.
It didn't feel like he was making progress through knowledge, but rather through feel, through instinct. Like he was born for this.
Like a moth to fla, Eldrian was drawn to magic.
