After agreeing, Calista watched the man as he released the horses before sitting under the tree shed to wait for the food.

When the dough raised, Calista returned to the kitchen where she directed on the side and watched as Susan cooked diligently, making her nod satisfactorily, loving how Susan was a fast learner.

With the dumplings cooking, the beans and beef stew were coming out nicely as well.

By the ti the dumplings were out of the cauldron, the beans and beef stew were done as well.

Not knowing how many people were at Lady Roberts’s house, the coachman nevertheless brought six al boxes, returning the two she gave them yesterday and wanting four servings.

Calista served the al boxes, added an extra dumpling in each box and gave the coachman a share as well. She didn’t know if he managed to eat the food yesterday, but as soone who had traveled all the way here to get food; she needed to show so consideration.

The coachman who then told her his na, Richard, accepted gratefully before paying the 6 silver coins, each serving apparently was priced at 1,5 coins, sothing that she didn’t do. She was thinking of making it cheaper, but Lady Roberts’s conscience was pretty pure.

And she didn’t dislike money, so she accepted it after giving a discount, of course.

With nearly six portions taken away, Calista was left with six portions at least. Three for them and the other three for custors, if they are any later.

The three of them waited patiently for any custors, but unfortunately, no one ca. That didn’t disappoint Calista, however, as she had earned money on the second day of opening, which was considered being too good.

At least until Lady Roberts got tired of her food, she would be earning a guaranteed 6 silver coins every six out of seven days. Who else in these parts of the village could achieve that?

When the day ended, Calista gave Susan three portions, Naomi two and herself one. And the day ca to an end just like that.

***

The next day, Calista sent Naomi to the river with the dirty laundry and gave Susan the ingredients for the day. With Lady Roberts being a daily custor now, they decided to open earlier.

With Lady Roberts supporting the restaurant, Richard started bringing in more orders, probably from other people, and business was getting good. Things were moving pretty well for her.

While the restaurant was on the right track, Susan returned to the projects which she had set aside when focusing on the restaurant.

The clinic’s furniture, the one she ordered, was finished and was getting installed already. In this week she opened the restaurant, and the factory got completed as well leaving the dormitory which was nearly done.

Talking about the clinic, because of what happened before, finding out that she was pregnant, Calista ended up not buying so of the dicines which she wanted. So, the clinic couldn’t be opened. And there was no one to serve patients again.

So, she needed to take another trip to Silverbroke town and see if she could find soone to help her with that as well.

As for the factory, it can only start operating when everything is in order. The machines and tools required to manufacture anything that she wanted were still not yet made.

That ant automatically the factory was in no way near to opening. Which was good as well. The thought of being stressed by too many things at once didn’t sit well with her at the mont.

Taking the factory issue aside, there was the issue of workshops and teaching the villagers. That was another project which was still in progress with only the building built but steps taken to teach the villagers none.

Fortunately, there was still ti, and no one was rushing her. She would take her ti and move at her own pace.

At least the restaurant was now boosted, with guaranteed inco coming in daily.

With a month gone after Orson left, and now Calista was certain that he wasn’t going to return to her for sure. She was calr than she was when she started insinuating about what Orson was trying to do.

One Sunday, a day off for everyone, Calista, who had listened to Ma Susan’s nagging about how good it was for pregnant won to exercise frequently, decided to take a walk.

Apart from going around the village, Calista didn’t go anywhere further than the restaurant recently. Even the river was a no-go area for the mont. Every ti she used to go there; she would end up in an altercation with soone.

Although things have changed, she didn’t dare try to test fate. She seed to have a fate which was destined to attract trouble. And she didn’t want any when carrying her little precious.

So, on this particular day, Calista decided to take a walk and what better place than one which was protected by her two sons?

The first is behind her house.

She left the house with a bottle of dicine and a bottle of water, just in case an ergency happened. On the other side, she could hear Whitey and Blackey owing and hissing, arguing about sothing silly again.

As she walked surrounded by the gift of nature, she couldn’t help but recall the old tis when life was very harsh on her.

Back then, she couldn’t even freely take a walk. Being found at a spot, whether at a right or wrong ti, she would be whipped.

She had to rise early, work hard like a donkey, eat leftovers and sotis none, and sleep late every day. It was simply too inhumane now that she thinks about it.

But on second thought, if she had not suffered so much like that back then, she wouldn’t have appreciated this life she has now.

The thought of working hard sent shivers down her spine. In this lifeti and next, she just wanted to do what she loved while doing the bare minimum. The work she had done in her first seventeen years was enough to distribute to a few generations of a household.

That’s how hard it was for slaves in this era she was living.

She was fortunate to have died back then and got a chance to transmigrate, though it was unfair for her to die.

Why did she even die back then?

And for what reason again?

She didn’t seem to recall anymore.

Fortunately, everything was well for her now.

Even if it wasn’t, it was going to be well.

After all, who was she?

"ow. ow. ow."

"Hiss. Hiss. Hiss."

Suddenly, as she cheered herself shalessly, Whitey and Blackey started owing and hissing defensively, spreading their arura around her, protecting her in her midst.

"What is happening?" she couldn’t help but ask dumbfoundedly, wondering why these two were acting suddenly like that.

However, when she saw that appearing, that wormhole with sparks and fire around it as if she was watching that crazy movie Doctor Strange, she once saw in that other world during her missions, unconsciously the fan that wasn’t on her ascend ago appeared in her hand.

"I won’t be tolerating any more drama. Co out and let’s see what you are!" she cursed with gritted teeth, her eyes glaring at the opening wormhole, sending god knows what.

Why was this happening to her again?
