With the heads back over the fire, the attention was then shifted to the beef that had now beco so tender that threads of it could be seen. It has beco so loose, and separated, very different from the usual beef chunks other people knew.

With the beef taken out of the cauldron, it was left aside to cool down, while all the remaining broth in the cauldron was taken out and scooped into a pot to be used later.

The cauldron was cleaned nicely before the pumpkin and sweet potatoes were placed in the cauldron together.

They could have been cooked separately, but with Calista and her unique recipes, she felt that the erging taste of the two would be fantastic. People in villages like hers were tired of eating these two, so letting them taste sothing different would arouse their taste buds and curiosity.

With this new dish over the fire, all the beef was taken outside where Calista once again proved to Susan that it was quite easy to co up with one thousand ways of eating sothing without getting bored with it.

Using the wooden mortar and pestle, Calista pounded a bit to show what she needed to be done before passing the pestle to Susan.

"Don’t pound it too much. I still need to know that it’s beef. Just pound it until it’s separate and looser than it is!" she instructed carefully as she looked at Susan.

Susan nodded as she recalled what Susan had just done.

Getting a handle on what was needed, she started pounding the at lightly with Calista watching over the side.

When the first round of at was done, Calista instructed the idle Naomi to scoop it out of the mortar into the wooden bowl. And that process repeated for a while and in an hour or so, all the at had been pounded and the bowl was full, making Calista feel satisfied.

The bowl was taken inside the kitchen where the two cauldrons currently in use were busy.

Getting back to the pig heads, when the three hours were up, they were removed from the cauldron. All the at, collagen material, and skin from the head were removed. Dice the mixture plus the at they removed before, which was a load of hard work to be done. However, it was enjoyable.

When that was done, the mixture was once again placed in a huge bowl similar in size to the one where the beef was placed.

The stock was removed from the cauldron before the cauldron was cleaned nicely.

The sweet potatoes and the pumpkins also were cooked to perfection. They were scooped into several containers. This marked the end of the cooking session for this day.

All bowls and containers were taken to Calista’s house and that day’s hard work also was finished.

Back at her house, Calista didn’t let Susan or her mother leave quickly. She was in the mood for cooking. Maybe she was affected by the sll of the at and felt like eating it while it was fresh.

Seeing her in such a great mood and knowing how great she was at cooking, the two won volunteered to help on the side.

Since all the at prepared on this day was suitable for stew, Calista didn’t feel like eating it. So, she took so fresh at recently added to the icehouse to prepare a sumptuous feast that night.

Recalling the leftovers in her house, there was a pot of rice she felt too lazy to finish, and that made it perfect for her to choose which recipe she wanted to cook; pork fried rice.

For this al, she picked pork tenderloin, salt, onions, carrots, peas, carrots, eggs and cooked rice. For other ingredients, she had Susan work on them such as onion powder and garlic powder since there was none.

As for soy sauce and black pepper, she didn’t have those, so she was going to make do with what she had.

The first thing to do when cooking the pork fried rice was to cook the pork, obviously. So as Calista prepared this al, both mother and daughter were looking carefully at every step that she was making so that in the future, they would prepare it at ho.

She first added a tablespoon of cooking oil to the wok, which had been placed over the fire for a while, and alongside the oil, she added the pork, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt to it.

The pork at this stage was already diced into reasonable sizes and not the sa size people cut when eating steaks or normal pork at tis.

This combination was cooked for seven minutes before being taken out of the wok and set aside.

The next thing to prepare was the vegetables. Using the sa wok, she added two more tablespoons of oil, onions, peas, and carrots. This combination would then be cooked until it was tender, and since Calista was cooking for the elders as well, she made sure that her vegetables were perfectly cooked.

Without scooping this mixture from the wok, Susan watched as Calista poured the beaten eggs, sothing that she also did when Calista was cooking the pork earlier. The eggs were scrambled using the wooden spatula, another strange cooking utensil in Calista’s house.

Once cooked, the eggs were mixed with the vegetable mix, and the aroma was simply too enticing.

However, she wasn’t done as Susan watched as the cooked rice which Calista had taken out earlier, probably from yesterday, was then added to the mixture. This new combination was then stirred and fried until it was all ward through and fully combined.

When that was done, the cooked pork was added back to the rice and vegetable mix and then stirred to combine it.

As there was no garnish, the al was completed. Very easy, simple and most importantly, very fast to make.

Susan and her mother, watching all that, looked dumbfoundedly at Calista.

"So, it’s done, just like that?" Susan still felt that she was dreaming.

How could it be so easy to make a dish like that?
