The next day, Calista woke up early in the morning feeling refreshed.
She got out of bed, fished a few silver coins beneath the pillow, and made her way to the cabinet while humming a happy tune.
In order to get to the town early, Calista, Susan and Frank were going to leave a bit earlier, and that prompted Calista to rise early as well.
As all the dishes had been prepared yesterday, Calista didn’t have much to do that morning except wash the dishes, feed the kitten, clean the house and get ready to leave.
All those chores were finished within an hour before she went to wash up. After a bath, she rummaged through her wardrobe and found a nice blue Boo tube dress which she paired up with a white blouse and added a jacket on top with a nice fur collar to keep all the warmth within her body.
She didn’t forget to pack several clothes that would last her at least five days, just in case the schedule changes, as well as the nightwear and other items.
After doing so, Calista went to her cabinet and picked up a half bottle of dicine and added it to the luggage. She picked several pouches and filled them with silver and copper coins.
Done with that, she took the stairs to the first floor and headed for the kitchen, where several baskets were aligned in an orderly manner.
She opened one basket and when she felt the nice heat rising to her face, a smile blossod on her face.
"I knew that having these talismans would co in need one day!" she smugly boasted as she thought of the talisman, she was resorted to using to keep the food warm.
Since she cooked dishes which tasted nicer when warm than cold, and the previous day before sale on top of that, Calista needed external help to keep the food warm.
Fortunately, she had stashed so of these talismans in her treasury before, otherwise she would have been forced to use that thing to keep the food fresh.
After making sure that all the food was still warm, Calista bundled all the baskets, keeping the talisman very close to the baskets before waiting patiently for Susan and her husband to arrive.
Thirty minutes later, Calista was seated in the oxcart with all the baskets huddled together and next to them was the fresh produce which the couple would be selling.
The sun hadn’t risen yet, so it was a bit dark. Nevertheless, it was the right ti for them to leave, as that would make them reach Silverbroke town before noon.
With everything ready, the three of them departed, leaving Cropville village behind.
On their way, the ladies chatted about this and that without any restraint just because Frank was there.
Calista’s dishes were quite warm, however, that didn’t raise any flags to the couple. After all, when had her food never been warm?
Around eleven, the group of three arrived in Silverbroke, settled in their usual place and waited for custors.
Sitting on a stool with several baskets in front of her, Calista was busy engaging in a conversation with her custors.
"You can go and take it. I am here and I will keep your share, don’t worry."
"You will do that?"
"Hehe, when have I ever lied?"
"Calista, give a plate? What do you have today?"
Calista greeted and chatted with her custors. As they all knew that she barely brought plates or al boxes to offer them, the custors always brought that whenever they were looking for her.
So, for those who carried their boxes, they managed to get the food in ti. And those who didn’t rush ho to get their containers.
Since she had prepared a lot, Calista had a great ti selling and at the sa ti advertising her restaurant.
"In the future, I might not be coming here frequently," she revealed as she served the last custor, selling everything out.
"Huh! Is sothing going on at ho?"
"Your husband doesn’t allow you!"
"Why won’t you be coming?"
Hearing different versions of why she mustn’t be coming, Calista nearly laughed, however, she held it in.
"No, no. it’s not like that. It’s just that recently I have been building a restaurant and it will be opening in July if everything goes well. So, I won’t have much ti to co here," she said in explanation.
Upon hearing that, the custors were finally enlightened.
"Oh! So, it’s like that? That’s good news. Congratulations."
"Congratulations on achieving such a feat."
"But Cali, isn’t your village a bit remote? Are you not worried about not getting custors?"
"Haha, it’s not a problem. It’s not like I was selling to earn a lot of money. You know that it takes four to five hours to reach here and the sa when returning. It’s becoming too risky, so I decided to do it at ho. Sooner or later, people would know the place and visit even if it’s not frequently!" with a chuckle, Calista explained.
Nodding their heads in understanding, so of the custors chipped in.
"If it’s like that, then we understand you. We don’t want any harm falling on you just because of us."
"Maybe this way, we can travel and see where you stay."
"Hehe, we have been too cooped up in town a lot."
"What a waste of money!"
Calista ignored all the sarcastic comnts and concentrated on those who wished her well. After advertising and promoting the restaurant which hadn’t opened yet, Calista finally beca free to resu with her other schedule.
The produce the couple brought managed to get finished around the sa ti as Calista’s food was sold out.
Frank drove Calista and Susan to the inn where he left for the village after they checked in.
Calista preferred to stay alone, so she had Susan stay in the neighboring room.
With accommodation settled, Calista was now left with procuring the items she needed, from food ingredients to other decorations.
With so much ti left before the day cos to an end, Calista wasn’t planning on sleeping in the room yet but going around and seeing what she could buy now.
This way, when Frank returns the next day, he would have sothing to return with, to the village. There was no way everything she wanted would fit the cart when they go back in a couple of days.
With that in mind, Calista prepared for a couple of busy hours ahead.
’It wasn’t easy to be a business lady,’ she lanted as she brought Susan to the market thirty minutes later.
