Lady Thomas’s mind was full of such scary thoughts, and it scared her that she couldn’t do anything. If this ghost wanted her life and her family, they would all die and no one would even understand anything that happened after that.

From Calista’s ways of doing things, she could tell that she wanted her to suffer but didn’t want to take their lives. Which was better, as her children and acquaintances could find a ans to stop whatever was coming by any ans necessary.

Even if they got punished by the Royal guards, they wouldn’t all die. After all, they didn’t commit treason, so their cris wouldn’t be too heavy. However, this ghost, she wasn’t certain. It looked eerie, and she had a very bad feeling.

And her instincts were on point as she heard a voice ringing in her ears the very next second.

"Old lady, my child is very rciful, but I am not. Do you want to plead for your family?"

When Lady Thomas heard the first part, she shuddered and thought to herself that it was over for her.

If she had known that Calista had a powerful ghost mother like that, she wouldn’t have ssed with her before. Unfortunately, who could foresee the future? But then the next part was said, and a glimr of hope flickered in her eyes.

She looked hopefully at the ghost, but then she recalled how she was unable to make a sound earlier, and the light in her eyes dimd.

The ghost floated closer to her when she was doing that, and Lady Thomas’s hope completely shattered. Without the ability to plead her case, how could she defend herself and co out of this alive?

For the umpteenth ti in a few days, she felt how powerless and useless she was. And she didn’t like that feeling at all.

She felt degraded, looked down upon as if she was so ant, and that was not the person she knew. She hated and disliked this self so much. Tears started pouring out of her eyes and in a mont of anger, thought out loud, "I hate this! Why can’t I do anything?" her voice sounding out loud and that made her freeze as soon as she realized what was happening.

"This .... Am I .... I can speak?" she exclaid in shock as she continued hearing the voice she hadn’t heard in days.

Lady Thomas looked incredulously at the ghost with sparkling eyes and asked excitedly, "Was it you who brought back my voice? What do you want from ? As long as I can do it for my family, I will do anything!" vowing automatically.

She didn’t know for how long she could speak. Since the chance had been given to her, she decided to just speak her mind.

The ghost moved backwards a bit before coming to a halt and that made Lady Thomas look confusingly at the other, wondering what it was up to.

"What if I told you that I can give you a wonderful life? Sothing greater than this one, but you must sacrifice sothing. What would you choose?"

Lady Thomas, upon hearing that, frowned as her mind started working overti, thinking about the issue brought to her attention.

She was ambitious and would always be, otherwise, she wouldn’t have done all those things she had done before.

Nonetheless, she was curious about what kind of sacrifice she needed to make to get this kind of life. After all, if she wasn’t mistaken, her family’s outco was already determined by now.

"What do I need to sacrifice? Is it possible for you to tell ?" she asked humbly, looking forward to a reasonable response.

The black mass moved a bit to the front before stopping closer to Bertha and responded, "I can make everything go away. Let your family continue to prosper and everyone will forget that this ever happened. But to do so, you need to sacrifice yourself. Your life for your children!"

Lady Thomas’s eyes popped when she heard that, and her face literally twitched in disbelief.

To let her family, live in luxury and, like nothing happened, she needs to sacrifice herself. What kind of logic was that? Does that even make sense?

She was so angry when she thought about those selfish children of hers.

"Or you sacrifice them and you can live happily. However, for this choice, you also need to die. Only after death will you get the kind of life that you wish for," the mass of black continued to drop another bomb, ssing with Lady Thomas’s mind even further.

"You .... How could you suggest sothing like that? Aren’t you a bit too cruel?" she asked hatefully, her teeth clenched and eyes red, as she glared murderously at the ghost she couldn’t see the appearance of.

"I was never a good person. Besides, I am giving you a choice here. You have seen my child. Isn’t she alive and well?"

"You_"

"Anyway, you don’t have much of a choice. Either you pick the two or suffer the scorn and humiliation of what is coming!"

When she heard that, she couldn’t speak as she looked at the ghost with a conflicted gaze.

She didn’t want to die and hated being humiliated the most. It had been hectic in these past few days having anyone with a mouth speak nonsense about her family as they like. When she thought about how embarrassed they would be if they got arrested, she was even more unwilling to see that day descending on them.

However, to stop that, only two choices stood in front of her, and they were both ruthless.

"Haha, I never thought ..... sniff ... hahaha," she couldn’t help but burst into mocking laughter, tears streaming down her cheeks as she felt like a fool having nowhere to run.

What did this ghost expect her to choose?

Wasn’t every single choice, forcing her to death?

Unfortunately, the ghost didn’t seem to care at all.

"I don’t have much ti. I will give you up until dawn to get your response. Don’t tell your family about what happened. The mont you do, you will regret it. And once you have made your choice, think about in your heart and I will co to you," the mass of black said generously before floating towards the door and vanishing from her presence.
