Two days later, Calista snickered as she looked at the man who didn’t cease to amaze her. Just when she thought things were getting better despite the dark cloud looming over them, he just had to slap her in the face.

She looked at him with narrowed eyes and asked icily, "Are you sure that’s what you have decided?" as she caressed Whitey’s fur.

Orson sat across from her in the gazebo, a complicated emotion filling him, especially seeing how those beasts awoken so soon.

He felt as if he was sitting on pins as he could sense the murderous gaze fixated on him by Blackey, who was coiling around her wrist hidden in the dress’s sleeves.

Without seeing the monstrous snake, he could sense that his presence wasn’t welcod at all. It was only Calista who was holding these two back. He didn’t know how he offended them again, but whatever it was; he felt in danger.

Recalling what Shadow told him after his arrival, although he didn’t have enough evidence, he was walking on thin ice and the probability of falling into the icy water was very high.

He wasn’t certain of what was truly happening so far. He needed to investigate, and that could only be done when he left this place. As for rethinking about his relationship with her, that would be put aside.

If she is a foe, then things would get crazy. He would rather attack first than give her a chance. Calista was vengeful and soone who wouldn’t let things lie like that. He experienced it first-hand, so he knew.

So, if they were foes, the probability of losing was pretty high at the mont. There was too much at risk. He would rather send the kids off first and then settle the matter.

With that in mind, he ca to her to inform her that they were leaving that day and it seed to have not sunk well with her.

Calista scoffed as she looked at the man, who couldn’t hide and mask the unbearable stench of fear oozing from him.

With her two pets by her side, it was easier to sense or know what other people around her were feeling.

He was running from sothing, and if she wasn’t mistaken, it should be that. If it was really the case, then didn’t it an that he ....

The more she thought about it, the angrier she beca.

She looked at him with a sinister smile on her face and said, "Fine. Since that’s what you have chosen, then you can leave. Just don’t regret it!" before rising to her feet.

Orson watched her leaving the gazebo without turning back, and the sense of loss washed over him.

With each step she took, it was as if he was losing sothing and that didn’t make him feel good.

However, for the sake of what he considered important right now, he could only bear the pain in his heart. Until it was certain he would suffer a mont.

He didn’t want to regret it; he thought to himself as he rose to his feet.

anwhile, on Calista’s side, her eyes were red and the fury rising in her was simply too great. If she was a volcano, she was becoming too close to erupting. The kind that would last weeks and sweep over villages and kill everything on its way.

Her heart was unsettled, as the suspicion that rose in these few days was coming closer to being confird.

As she walked towards the house, she spotted Shadow, the person whose silhouette was becoming much clearer in her mind the more she thought of that night.

She might have not seen the face, but the appearance as well as that ring he had never taken off. She was becoming very sure and that wasn’t sothing that she wanted to know, especially at a ti when she was having issues with Orson.

Calista walked in the direction where Shadow was and the man didn’t bother to make way. He stood there like a boulder; his face covered by the mask looking very serious, as if he was being owed.

"You are standing in my courtyard wearing such a face. Are you perhaps thinking of how to finish ?" she scowled at him as she stood a short distance from him, her lips curled upward into a smirk.

Shadow looked at the woman whose face now fit perfectly with that little girl of that year and the urge to smother her right there overwheld him. However, he contained himself. He wasn’t going to let her get on his nerves, but was she willing to let him go?

Seeing him desperately trying to contain herself, Calista’s eyes curved into crescents as she confird sothing. The murderous intent of this man was simply too high. While Orson felt fear, doubt, and confusion towards her, Shadow wanted to kill her.

They had just t, and yet he felt this strongly against her. Didn’t that an that he was guilty?

She couldn’t help but snicker as she continued to look at him before tauntingly saying, "You failed last ti and might be thinking of repeating it, aren’t you? Tsk. Tsk. But what can you do now? Trust , if you don’t co at at this ti, I will co at you. I will make sure that you ...." Since there was no need to hide from each other, Calista felt that it was important to let the man know that she knew and she was indeed that person.

Unfortunately, when she was in the middle of saying such things, she heard Orson approaching, so she could only stop midway. From what she was seeing so far, Orson might not have a clue, but that won’t wash his sins clean. Without giving such instructions, how could Shadow do that?

Since he was coming, there was no need to taunt Shadow more, so she harrumphed at him before swaying her body and leaving the scene.

As for Shadow, he was in a mont of shock as he digested the words that the woman had said. If he wasn’t mistaken, she had just acknowledged her identity. If that was the case, was she a ghost or not?

What was happening?
