Hayes flushed with embarrassnt rather than joy upon hearing how Calista rembered him. Couldn’t she rember it nicely except that for real?
Nonetheless, having her recall her was better than not, so his mood got uplifted in a matter of seconds as he replied, "Um, it’s , big sister. You don’t know how long I have been searching for you!" with an aggrieved expression on his face, he complained.
Calista, seeing the rebelliousness of back then, now acting coy, cringed as she rolled her eyes at him before replying, "Why would you waste ti looking for soone? What if I was dead?"
Hayes grinned at her, seeing how sharp-tongued she was even after so many years.
"Hehe, if you were dead, I would rest until I see your bones and ascertain that it was you. How could you die before I see you in person?" he shalessly responded.
He had heard so much about Calista from the mont he recognized her, or rather suspected that it was her.
Her appearance hadn’t changed that much, to be honest. It’s just the body which grew, and she looked mature now compared to before. However, her deanor remained the sa.
He didn’t even know or think that he would be able to find her so close to where he was staying. He had been searching in many places and yet never got a breakthrough. But this ti, after hearing from a subordinate that the person he was looking for might be found in Liresa City, he got on his horse and left abruptly, which nearly made his family blow the roof of the house.
However, could their objections stop him from finding his savior?
No way that was going to happen.
No one would understand how dangerous it was for him back then. If she hadn’t arrived, he would be dood. That was for sure.
When his brother ca to investigate what happened, he still rembered how he shuddered as he shared his hypothesis. Whatever happened to the people who captured him was very cruel.
It was Calista who dealt with them. As for how, he just knew that in the place where they supposedly died, a very enormous dark spirit seed to be lingering there.
They died with a belly of grievances, unfortunately they had nowhere to vent or who to avenge. The last ti he heard about that place; it was said that the dark energy dissipated on its own. As for how that happened, no one knew.
Anyway, Calista beca soone that he wanted to see, no matter what. It’s just that she was a hard person to find, and it took him twelve years to finally do.
Seeing her right now, and with a bulging belly, he could only smile and be happy for her.
However, he also recalled how that belly didn’t seem to belong to anyone in particular. With an annulled marriage, that baby belongs to Calista. If he were to make a move on her, would she agree?
Would he be able to manage and control her?
He shivered as he thought of that.
There was no way that the two of them would live normally and peacefully. He was too wild, very sharp-tongued, and was used to do whatever he wanted. If he were to be matched up with Calista, all hell would break loose.
Before his thoughts go awry, he decides to cut any lingering feelings of wanting sothing that would get him into hot soup in the future.
Rather than making her his woman, it would be better to beco siblings.
As he looked at her, rolling her eyes as she continued to eat, he beca determined.
Having her as a sibling would be great. She didn’t have anyone and with him by her side, then the family would go bigger.
The more he thought of that, the more determined he beca.
And that’s how another clingy figure was added on Calista’s side.
However, rather than hating Hayes, she liked this new addition the most.
She had co across a lot of people, especially the rich young masters, and yet Hayes was the first person who seed to be born to make her happy.
Everything that he does, says or thinks, it was all for her. Whenever he saw her sulking, or groaning in pain, he would act like a father who had a child in old age. It was simply hilarious and yet at the sa ti, made her feel that having him by her side wasn’t that bad at all.
But that was sothing for another ti.
Returning to the mont, after acknowledging each other, Leeshay didn’t have anything more to worry about. Hayes wasn’t a threat, so they could now return to what they were doing.
However, another thought ca to mind as she looked at him. Why should she use her connections, which might not bring the best when there was soone from the capital with them?
So later that evening at the manor, after eating and when they were admiring the night sky in the gazebo, Leeshay raised her concerns with Hayes.
As for Calista, she was more of a salted fish, especially when she was pregnant now. As long as soone could solve her problems, she could sleep the whole day without even feeling ashad.
So how could she dislike having soone do her chores for her?
And surely, that was indeed the case.
Calista felt grateful as she listened to the conversation between the two. She found it very beneficial to have such close friends like them.
"Young master Hayes, this sister of yours ca to the city for a purpose this ti. I was wondering if you can lend a hand!" Leeshay laid out the story to Hayes, who listened attentively with sparkling eyes.
Wasn’t he looking for a way to repay Calista from the mont he left the house?
"Just tell . As long as it’s sothing that I can do, I will do my best!"
And that was the kind of answer that Leeshay was looking forward to hearing.
