"Young master, are you sure that it’s okay to do this?" the young man beside Hayes asked worriedly as he looked at the two won in front and his master who had faced such humiliation in public and yet couldn’t do anything about it.
Hayes smiled mysteriously as he looked at his male servant and responded, "Um. Now that I have found her, do you think that I will let her go easily?"
The male servant’s lips twitched as he digested his master’s words. The woman his master had been searching for was pregnant and had been married twice. How can his master’s interest be this heavy?
There were a few mistresses at ho. He can’t possibly be thinking of adding this one on top of them all, would he?
Won’t there be havoc at ho if that happened?
This lady seed to be a hot and short-tempered one. Won’t the backyard blow up if she joined it?
Besides, would she even agree to be associated with his young master?
The more the manservant thought of this, the more worried he beca.
anwhile, despite the distance between the two groups, they all finally arrived at Leeshay’s restaurant.
Leeshay took the two of them into a private room and ordered so snacks and beverages for everyone to munch on as they dissected exactly what was going on right now.
Inside the private room, Calista sat lazily on a cushion as she ate so lon seeds, glaring at the young man seated in front of her.
With Leeshay’s intervention, she was able to calm her anger down. In cases like these, being rational was the only way to go and yet no matter how hard she racked her brains, she just didn’t get who this person was.
Could it be that a demon from her past had erged?
She really hated demons and ghosts like these, especially if their appearances were likely to affect her reputation and bring to the surface so things that should have remained locked in Pandora’s box.
Unfortunately for her, Leeshay wanted to get to the bottom of this and now they were here.
Leeshay noticed Calista unhidden glaring towards young master Fischer and couldn’t help but lant at how hard this whole diation was going to be.
On the other side, the young master maintained a smile on his face, without any anger showing at all. It was as if he was looking at her the way an adult looked at a child. Very accommodating and doting.
And the more she looked at that, the more curious she beca. There was indeed sothing happening between these two.
Could it be that there were once childhood sweethearts or sothing close to that?
She couldn’t help but wonder.
However, she knew that being curious without getting to the bottom of the story wouldn’t solve anything. She might as well ask and see where the young master was coming from.
Maybe with a bit more flesh to the story, Calista would recall.
With the way she looked, it didn’t seem like she was faking not knowing young master Fischer at all.
"Young master Fischer, as you can see. My friend here doesn’t seem to recall you. Do you mind shedding so light on what is really going on here?" Leeshay went straight to the point.
She didn’t have any strength or ti to play hide and seek anymore. Calista was not a patient person. If she gets irritated before the whole story is in the open, who knows what she might do?
Hayes felt relieved when he heard Lady Garth suggesting that.
Maybe it was indeed the case. It’s been a very long ti since they last t. It was also possible that he might not have made a deep impression on her when they t that ti.
Since that might be the case, then bringing back those mories might be the only way for him to be acknowledged by her.
"Okay, this can be done!" he agreed to the suggestion as he looked at Calista, who was rolling her eyes as she munched on her seeds, completely not fazed by him at all.
’Looking at her like this, it doesn’t seem like she had changed much from back then!’ he couldn’t help but muse as he found her very cute and relatable.
Unfortunately, he didn’t have ti to admire her cuteness right now, as he was more worried about her recognizing him more than anything else.
Without wasting too much of anyone’s ti, he opened his mouth and started narrating the past.
And the more Calista heard the more her brows furrowed as she tried recalling a certain mory hidden among many.
***
Eleven to twelve years ago, Hayes was just a fourteen-year-old rebellious ho who wanted nothing more than to run away from ho and away from his controlling parents.
Having two older siblings who were very outstanding and revered by many youths in the city, he suffered while growing up.
Every single second of his life, he was compared to them constantly. It started getting on his nerves.
He was himself, and his brothers were other people. So why did they have to compare them all the ti?
Why did he have to hear praises of them and only scolding when it ca to him?
Just because they were siblings, was it a must that they all should follow the sa path?
Why did no one ever ask for what he wanted to do?
Just because he was their child, did he have to suffer like that for the rest of his life?
At that age, he thought that enough was enough. So, he slipped away from ho when no one was expecting and ran away.
Unfortunately, he was just a child and didn’t know how the world operated. In a world filled with wolves and foxes, how could he a cub that hadn’t been weened survive?
With so much money on his body and his clothes selling his noble status, he was targeted by thieves. It was the most horrible mont of his life which taught him a lot, even until this very mont.
These thieves weren’t even satisfied with stealing what was on him but also wanted to sell him for a good price.
He couldn’t even fight them and he didn’t have any guards to protect him. It was the first ti in his life he understood why his parents and brothers were so adamant about letting him learn martial arts.
Growing up, he was forced to train, but at so point; he started refusing, and they ended up giving up on him. They simply thought that since they were guards to protect him, forcing him wouldn’t solve a thing.
And yet, at that very mont, he wished he had faithfully learnt.
