"With so much you are doing for the village as well as the other villages, I want to thank you. However, that isn’t the main reason why I am here. With the achievents I am certain you will get in the future once your factory is up and running, I was wondering if you think is possible to open a shop or a few in town?" Sir Henrich asked his gaze on Madam Solace, who seed to be digesting what he was saying.
"I am not stopping you from opening the market street you wanted. However, before the market street is boosted, you can start marketing your products over there and ...."
Roughly, the councilor didn’t want to let go of an opportunity to boost the town where he lives.
Which was understandable to Calista. Every person was selfish. At least this man’s selfishness and greed didn’t seem to harm her in any way.
It was going to take a very long ti for the street market to be how she wanted it to be. Ro wasn’t built in a day that she understood greatly.
By opening a shop in Silverbroke town, she will get a chance to promote her goods as well as the village where they co from.
In the future, when people get used to what she has to offer, they might co willingly to the street market.
There were so many things to consider about the prosperity of the street. The village was several hours from the nearest towns and when it ca to cities; it was days away.
What makes cities and towns appealing to passersby and guests is the availability of accommodation as well as attractions. Currently, she lacks everything. She was just starting, so it was understandable.
So, when she heard the councilor’s suggestion, she didn’t object to it hastily but took her ti to break it down and list down the pros and cons of the matter. After so thought, she found one solution which she could agree to.
One that can save her ti and resources.
If she wanted to open a shop in Silverbroke town, the person managing the shop, if from the village, must travel ten hours a day. Did that even make sense?
There was no way she was going to kill her fellow villagers with fatigue every day.
If they wanted to open the shop early, then leave the village at night and co back at night. Just because of so asly copper and silver coins, she didn’t dare risk that.
She didn’t trust anyone who wasn’t her friend or villager who she could settle scores with if that person betrayed her, which ant that there was no candidate for the shop’s manager. And since there wasn’t one, why not choose another path?
She was going to open a factory in the future. Instead of taking the retail route, she might as well take the wholesale route. Those who want her products, let them co and buy them from her in the village. There were many rchants out there.
"I thought about it and your suggestion sounds pretty good but not doable at the mont!" with a deep sigh, Calista responded to Sir Henrich’s earlier suggestion, her words startling both n.
What was she talking about?
Their shock was written all over their faces, making Calista feel like bursting into laughter for a mont. However, she held herself.
"It might not be possible for to open a shop there. It’s too risky and wastes a lot of ti for or anyone else from the village if done every day. I don’t dare play with anyone’s health.
So rather than opening a shop there, I can offer one thing. In the future, when the factory is working. The produce from the factory will be sold in the shops at the street market, and all rchants from Silverbroke as well as the eight villages can purchase at a local discount different from others.
As for where they are going to sell the staff, I won’t even ask. But I will make sure to offer a price that can make everyone benefit. Whoever wants to open a shop can do so. I am too lazy to manage sothing that far away, which is why I decided to open that street market. It’s closer to and even if I am too lazy to go there, I will be forced to.
So, Sir Henrich. Once the factory is working. We can do it the way I suggested. This way, I can also promote the street market. If I were to open a shop in Silverbroke town, I am not even certain how long it would take to promote it!"
Calista didn’t hide her thoughts from the two n but laid out the truth and her thoughts about everything.
The more Sir Henrich listened, the more he found out how Madam Solace’s thoughts were different from the rest.
She was full of ideas, and yet her laziness was her bane. At the sa ti, if he pushes aside the laziness part, he acknowledges her reasons very much.
It was indeed a very long distance to travel every day. And even if it was for the sake of earning money, it was too risky and might risk the people in charge of falling ill. But wasn’t there a solution to that?
Rent a house in town and send soone with the stock once in a while?
He didn’t believe that she didn’t think about it.
She just didn’t want to do so.
At least she provided another solution which was going to benefit a lot of people.
If she sold the goods to others, it ant that the rchants would have a chance to earn money as well. With the influx of rchants coming and going, the boost to the town and the villages would be high.
He also understood that just like him, she wanted to focus more on the place where she lived and honestly; he didn’t have anything to condemn her for.
So, with their discussion revolving around that discussion, they passionately continued with their discussion as the main course arrived; roasted fish, rice, salads, juice and soup.
By the ti the al was done, the two had agreed. They would follow Calista’s suggestion and when the factory starts selling, only the rchants who et a criterion and follow Calista’s conditions would have a chance to buy from her.
Not any Tom and Jack can get things from her just because they have a thick wallet ready to be splurged.
