"Uncle before I go, there is sothing I need to talk to you about!" from nowhere, Calista who was supposed to leave after dropping a bomb said, freezing Ba Susan who was digesting how he ended up agreeing to host a wedding the other elders in the villagers would roast him for ages.
"This ... you .. what is it again?" he asked nervously.
After what Calista did just a while ago and now this, he was scared that she would request sothing crazy again.
Even Ma Susan and Susan, who were preparing to leave with Calista, found themselves sitting down again.
Calista nearly chuckled out loud upon seeing how tense the village chief had beco once again.
"Uncle, are you always thinking bad of to react like that?" she asked sulkily as she looked at the man.
Ba Susan coughed embarrassingly as he looked away. How could he be blad when Calista was the one who traumatized him many tis?
"Your Uncle is just shy, don't mind him!" Ma Susan said smilingly as she looked at Calista.
Susan, upon seeing all that, couldn't help but chuckle softly, finding her father very cute. Whenever he was facing her, he was a bit stricter and yet, being in front of Calista, he would be turned into a scaredy cat. How did she wish Calista would do that to her father every day?
"Anyway, what is it you want to discuss?" after getting his bearings, Ba Susan asked.
Calista smiled amusedly as she looked at Ba Susan and said, "It's not anything horrific, but I just wanted to let you know that I am very grateful for everything you have done for ."
Upon hearing that, three sighs of relief were heard in the room.
"This is nothing. You were the one who did us a favor first, and all we did was return it!" he answered dismissively as he recalled how Calista saved Susan back then.
"Still, if it wasn't for your magnanimity, I wouldn't have a place to stay or be close to my late husband. So, for that, I am grateful, and I want you to always know that."
"Those who do kind deeds always get rewarded!" Ba Susan said wisely.
"Indeed, they do, which is why I have decided to stop sitting on my hands and do sothing about our village!" Calista said with determination.
Ba Susan was startled when he heard that. He fidgeted in his seat as he looked at Calista with inquiry.
"Child, what do you an?" his voice trembled as he asked.
"I have been too lazy for far too long and since I am starting a new family, I don't plan on doing so again. A big family requires a lot of money and money is sothing that needs to be earned. For money to be earned, one needs to work sohow, and that's what I am talking about."
"Could it be you want to work? Do you want to buy fields? We still have a lot of high-fertile lands available!" Ba Susan asked excitedly.
However, Calista half shook her head as she responded, "I will never do any farm work no matter how much I want to change. I would rather support others and continue to buy. What I want to do is different. All you need to do when that ti cos is to support . But buying land, I would love to do so. And it will be preferable if the land is closer to the road."
"This ... do you want to build a house?"
"No, my tree house is perfect for now. Just sell the land and you will see what I will do with it in the future. Of course, I don't mind also getting the piece of wasteland over there. It's pretty suitable for what I have in mind."
"Are you sure you want that piece of land?" Ba Susan asked hesitatingly.
That was a wasteland that no one in their right mind would even bother to buy.
"Trust , you will see what I am talking about in the future."
"If that's what you want. I will trust you then."
Calista had never hard the village at all. Of course, people talked, but who didn't?
Calista discussed for a while with Ba Susan before she bade him farewell.
Susan was the one who sent her away and when the two were walking, they couldn't help but talk again.
"Are you sure about the marriage thing?" Susan was still worried about her friend.
Calista grinned as she looked at Susan. "Don't fret. He is handso, so I have no regrets!"
When Susan heard that, she stopped in her tracks and looked at Calista with an 'I should have known it' kind of expression.
With how Calista was a sucker for beautiful things, she definitely wasn't the kind of person who would settle for less.
"Is he really that handso?"
"Very, you will see him pretty soon!" Calista said smugly as she recalled that handso face she had to scar simply because she was afraid that he would be stolen by Vixens in the future.
"Huh, that's good then. I hope that he is worth it!"
"Even if he isn't. I will make him be!" with a serious expression on her face, Calista said firmly.
"Hehe, you are indeed my friend. Very domineering and mighty!" Susan said chucklingly, loving how Calista still was the sa person who loved showing her dominance whenever she could.
"Hehe, a man can never change . If I can't dominate him, then he isn't supposed to be mine!" she scoffed as she thought of other won suffering under the rule of n.
Life was already tough as it was and having a man to rule her just as what society expected wasn't sothing that she liked. Screw tradition and customs. From the second she was graced with a second chance; she threw everything out of the window.
