83 Ch. 83 Use Her Words Against Her
Seeing Richard still not wanting to look at her made Anxia feel restless. She knew she had gone too far. Should she apologize to her husband?
Why should she be the one apologizing? It wasn’t like Anxia was angry for no reason. Furthermore, Richard caused her to fall to the floor. To make it worse, that shaless bastard didn’t help her and walked away!
Didn’t Richard say he wanted Anxia to act spoiled with him? How could she do it when he was sulking as if Anxia didn’t buy the toys Richard wanted?
Anxia felt she had two children and had to attend to the kids’ mischief.
Anxia really wanted to go back to her room and leave the man who was still cranky there. But... because she still wanted to et Ling ng and find out about her friend’s condition, like it or not, she had to reconcile with her husband.
In the end, Anxia stood up and walked over to Richard. She stood next to him while observing Richard’s face.
It was tough to read a man’s mind if he showed no facial expression.
“Richard, I’m sorry. It’s not that I don’t want to depend on you, but... for my entire life, I only had myself to rely on. You also know what kind of work I am. I can’t easily trust people.”
“That’s why I want you to quit your job.”

“You know I can’t. Let’s say I quit; I’m still . All my instincts and reflexes always react as a hitman. I can’t just change it.” Anxia trained hard to the point of making it a habit. She couldn’t change all her habits overnight.”
“But I will change my routines slowly and try to rely on you more. For starters, how about you help find a way for to et ng ng?”
Richard humd, hearing the honey-like words from his wife’s pretty lips.
If Richard didn’t know Anxia’s real personality, he would have been fooled by this sweet play on words.
He knew Anxia would never want to try to rely on him. But she said that only for Richard to grant her wish.
Only because of Ling ng, Anxia was willing to be sweet and spurted ear-pleasing words. What would happen if the girl found out his true feelings? He wasn’t sure he wouldn’t fall for her lovely words, considering Anxia could give it all to seduce him, lure him into fulfilling every one of her wishes.
What Richard thought was indeed accurate. Anxia had no intention of placing her trust in her husband because she deed Richard as an ordinary powerless-against-evil individual.
Maybe Richard could deal with jerks because he knew martial arts, but when he faced an assassin or a ruthless man like Master Yu, Richard would have died at their hands long ago.
The proof was the man almost died in her hands last night. The man’s life was in her hands, even if only for a mont. But if Anxia had a heart as cold and ruthless as Master Yu, she was confident that Richard would not have been able to see the sun this morning.
Because of that, Anxia had no interest in placing her hopes on Richard. It would be like the blind leading the blind across the road when she relied on soone weaker than her.
But that didn’t an Richard was useless trash. She never thought that a businessman like Richard would be able to reach Cerberus and manage to save Ling ng.
That’s why Anxia was still willing to approach Richard even though her whole body wanted to return to her room and leave him.
It’s a pity that Anxia didn’t know who the real Richard was. Richard was a Cerberus leader who led the phantoms to save Ling ng without being tracked down.
More importantly, Anxia forgot the most crucial thing. That night, Richard did not counterattack her.
Even though Richard’s condition was unfavorable due to the lack of lighting and the sound of the waves camouflaging Anxia’s movents, it did not an that Richard’s fate had been decided right then and there.
If his opponent were not his wife but another assassin, Richard would fight back and not allow his opponent to get sand into his eyes.

If Anxia had realized her husband’s actual ability, perhaps she wouldn’t have such a skeptical mind.
“I could have asked Cerberus to bring you two together, but are you sure you want to do that?”
“What do you an?”
“I’m sure the Cerberus team will carry your unconscious friend out of their base. If soone with like that injuries, unconscious is brought out and attracts attention....”
“Stop!” cut Anxia, understanding where her husband was speaking. “Okay. I’ll wait for her to wake up. Let know when she wakes up.”
“Why should I tell you?”
Richard’s unexpected question left Anxia speechless.
“Don’t you want to believe you?”
“I do. But after what I did to you, to your friend, you still doubt . So why should I waste my energy on making you believe if, in the end, you distrust ?”
“...” Anxia couldn’t answer the question.
If she had given an unflattering answer, Richard might not inform her of the developnts in her friend’s condition.
Anxia bit her lip in frustration, feeling like she had to rack her brain twice as hard to face her husband as to carry out her forr master’s dangerous mission.
“I already said I would give it a try. Why don’t you believe ?”
“How can I believe you without proof?”
Anxia blinked her eyes a few tis at the man’s question. Why does she feel dejavu?
“If you want to believe your words, I want proof. After all, soone told that no one could believe another without proof.”
Anxia glared at Richard while he grinned triumphantly.
How dare that man use her words against her!!
