273 Ch. 273 Jamie’s Daughter

After trying to find out where Loraine Shu locked i Yin and Jamie for hours without success, Anxia gave up. She tried to search for them in any basent, warehouse, and secret room she had visited but failed to find them.

Anxia was worried, and now she didn’t know whether i Yin was still on her side or had changed her heart. She had only heard from Elliot that i Yin and Jamie were injured severely, but Elliot had not seen them with his own eyes and had only heard from other people. The other person couldn’t be trusted either because Song Lei deliberately said it for one purpose―to make Elliot bla himself.

If i Yin were injured, Anxia would not worry much about it. She knew that i Yin was a tough woman, and no amount of injury could bring her down―it was different for Jamie.

The woman was an ordinary individual without any strong background. The woman would collapse with just the slightest hit due to her frail body.

Furthermore… Jamie was i Yin’s true weakness.

Anxia recalled talking to i Yin about the girl’s weakness.

“i Yin, if you want to believe you, tell your weaknesses. What keeps you from going against my mother? I believe you don’t dare to go against her despite my grandfather’s support because my mother knows your weakness. Is not it?”

“Yes. Your mother held onto my weakness that your grandfather didn’t have. Because of this weakness, I cannot betray her blatantly and only beco her slave.”

“What’s that?”

.....

“Can I trust you? What assurance can assure that you will never use my weakness.”

“Elliot. I swear I will not take advantage of your weakness on Elliot’s behalf.”

“You are willing to use your child to gain my trust?”

“Do you know how much I love my two children?”

“I know.”

“Then you know, that’s how much I want to trust and earn your trust.”

i Yin smiled crookedly, hearing that. “You don’t need to use Elliot since you can guess who is dear to in this place.”

“Who?? So your weakness is a person? Ha!” Anxia gasped in disbelief when she rembered how close i Yin and Jamie were. “Could it be… Jamie?”

i Yin nodded once, confirming Anxia’s guess.

“Why? Jamie is not related to you... so, why?”

“You are wrong. Jamie is my mother―my birth mother.”

Anxia didn’t expect this answer at all, and suddenly her brain felt buzzing as various bits of information gathered together.

“Are you sure? How did you know that?”

“Liam told , and I confird it directly with my mom. Since I learned that Jamie is my birth mother, I have tried to endure the various tornts in this place and did my best to protect my mother from Loraine’s unreasonable punishnts. Master Shu sent here, and I have beco Loraine’s slave, but Loraine brought her here.”

“How old are you?”

“Twenty-three? Why are you asking about my age?”

Anxia stroked her temple as she was digesting all this sudden unexpected news. At that ti, she still had not learned that neither Loraine nor Jamie was her mother and believed Jamie was her mother. If i Yin were Jamie’s second daughter, wouldn’t that make i Yin her sister with only two years gap?

Even though Anxia couldn’t rember her childhood with her parents, she was sure she had no siblings. So from this point, Anxia believed Jamie was not her mother without knowing the test.

Nonetheless, Anxia had felt like a dead fish tossed about by the waves in an uncertain direction. Her expectations, as well as her views regarding her mother, had changed several tis.

While she thought Jamie was her mother, it turned out that she was not. When she believed Loraine Shu was not her mother, the Russian doctor told her otherwise.

“Anxia, ??I adored Elliot like my own little brother. But I put my mother first because she can’t stand the constant beatings. I promised to provide my best protection for Elliot, but... when they hurt my mother, I won’t be able to keep this promise.”

Anxia sighed upon finishing recalling her conversation with i Yin and understood the girl’s warning. Anxia was grateful that the girl was willing to be honest with her and not leave Elliot quietly without telling her anything.

Hence, she didn’t completely bla i Yin for leaving Elliot alone, so Song Lei managed to injure her son. i Yin had told her in advance that the girl wouldn’t be able to keep her promise if anything happened to Jamie.

And exactly what they were afraid of. While Anxia infiltrated Diego’s house to steal the Tiffany II program, Loraine deliberately used this opportunity to punish Jamie in the detention room. That petty woman even ordered her maids to gossip under the balcony of Elliot’s room to lure i Yin out. Loraine and Song Lei deliberately separated Anxia from i Yin so they would not conspire to escape from this place.

One was a lioness, while the latter was a cheetah with impeccable agility and never-ending eagerness.

If Song Lei allowed these two dangerous girls of Deke Shu’s granddaughters to strategize against him, the man had absolute certainty that he would lose. Hence, Song Lei deliberately locked i Yin and Jamie outside the island, where Anxia could not find them.

Song Lei didn’t want Anxia and i Yin to carry out a deliberate plan to prevent him from achieving his goals. One of Deke Shu’s confidants had sniffed out what he had done to Elliot and had indirectly threatened him. He didn’t want the two won to exacerbate further his plan that he had been thinking about for dozens of years.

Unfortunately for Song Lei, he had no idea that bringing i Yin and Jamie off the island would make it easier for the Cerberus team to save them both. And he would never expect that one of Deke Shu’s n had reached Richard―the leader of Cerberus.

They only needed to save Jamie because i Yin would return to help Anxia, while the Cerberus... would aid Deke Shu’s n to get what the old man wanted―Song Lei’s head.
