Xiao Yichen noticed her reaction, and his heart ached. He stared at her in silence, wanting to say sothing but unable to find the words.
They remained in this silent standoff for a long while.
Lin Wan knew Xiao Yichen had been squatting by her bedside, but she didn’t know how long he’d been there. After contemplating the situation, she finally broke the silence. “You… go to sleep,” Lin Wan said.
Upon hearing her words, Xiao Yichen was relieved. He quickly replied, “Alright.”
Xiao Yichen lay on the bed, gently pulling Lin Wan into his arms.
He was careful not to apply too much pressure, as he was concerned about her emotions and well-being.
As he gazed down at the woman in his arms, he spoke softly, “Wan’er, do you believe ?”
