Chapter 270: Chapter 269 - Ais’s Cofession?
Before leaving ho, I washed my face and drank so water. ’Damn, I really am hungry. Did playing on the computer make
this hungry?’ Well, quite so ti had already passed.
I left my room as quickly as I could and headed toward the Hostess of Fertility, the place where the eting had been arranged. When I walked through the restaurant’s front door, I noticed Syr wasn’t serving custors.
The last ti I ca here with Hestia, Lili, Mikoto, and Haruhi, I didn’t see her either ’Did she quit working here?’ I looked around for Ais, and when I spotted her sitting at a table, I approached with a smile.
"Ais, I’m sorry I’m late."
"Don’t worry, I got here too early."
"No, really. I was busy with sothing and ended up running late." I should have arrived half an hour ago. I was pretty late! Fortunately, Ais didn’t seem too bothered by it.
I sat down, and one of the waitresses ca over to take our order.
"Will you be ordering now?" the woman asked Ais. Ais’s face turned red.
’She must have been waiting for a long ti.’ I smiled and told the woman, "Yes, we’ll order. Can you bring
a large mug of beer and a portion of roasted at? That’s enough for . And you, Ais?"
"Bring
a portion of roasted at as well."
"You’re not going to drink anything?" I asked. "Don’t you like beer?"
"Bring
a red fruit juice, please," Ais told the woman. "I don’t really like drinking alcohol."
"Oh, I didn’t know that," I said, clearing my throat. Both of us fell silent. It was so awkward that Ais’s face began to turn slightly red.
So, I decided to start a conversation.
"So, how have you been?"
"Huh?"
"I an... the Loki Familia. How’s everyone doing?"
"Everyone’s fine. Bete has fully recovered, and we’ve been exploring the dungeon almost every day."
"Oh. Unfortunately, I don’t have much ti for that. And whenever I do go to the dungeon, people recognize
and start asking for autographs."
That’s a lie, since I hardly ever go to the dungeon. But I’m sure that if I did, so people would start asking for autographs. That would be annoying.
"That must be pretty irritating."
"Yeah, it bothers
a little." Just as I finished speaking, a woman approached. She was older, but stunningly beautiful.
"Could you give
an autograph?" She handed
a copy of the first volu of Roo and Juliet along with a pen. I signed her book with a smile, but the mont she walked away, I sighed.
"Haha," Ais laughed. "You really hate being recognized, don’t you?"
"At first I thought it was cool, but nowadays it’s unbearable."
"Have you ever thought about wearing a disguise or sothing like that?"
"Hm, that might actually be a good idea."
We kept chatting for a while longer about my fans and my books until our food arrived.
Once it did, we talked about all sorts of things—though nothing about dating, marriage, or anything that might make
nervous. After more than an hour, our plates were finally empty.
"Phew~~" I sighed. "I’m full. I thought it’d be a small portion of at, but it was huge."
"I’m really full too."
"So, what should we do now?"
"Huh?" Ais looked confused by my question.
"Do you want to head ho already? I was thinking of taking a walk around the city. You have sothing you want to tell , right? We could go sowhere a little more private." I tossed out the bait.
I had the feeling she might give up on going through with her plans.
"Ah..." Ais froze for a mont. "Sure, we can walk a bit." Her lips curved into a smile as she stood up. I got up too and paid for our food and drinks before leaving the restaurant with her.
As soon as we stepped outside, a crowd of people rushed over, asking for autographs.
"Luan, please sign this!"
"Luan, hug , please!"
"Luan, give
an autograph! I’ll do anything for one!"
I sighed and grabbed Ais’s hand.
"Huh?" She looked very surprised, but I didn’t care.
I activated my teleportation ability and took her sowhere quiet where no one could bother us: the rooftop of a random building far from Orario’s center.
"Wow, you scared ," she said, visibly nervous. Then she sighed. "You could’ve warned
first."
"Sorry about that," I said, sitting down by the edge. As soon as I sat, the wind picked up, and Ais’s hair began to sway. I looked at her and felt my heart race.
’She’s really beautiful. I can’t wait to take her to bed.’
"Luan... I..."
The mont those words left her lips, I held my breath.
’Is she going to do it? Is she going to confess?’
Ais turned toward
dramatically, and my heartbeat grew even faster.
She took a step forward and sat down next to .
Once seated, she let out a sigh, her cheeks turning slightly red.
Then her lips slowly parted.
"Luan, I am—"
