Chapter 169 – Overlord.
When night ca, I decided not to go to Hestia's room to update my Falna. It doesn't really matter if she updates it or not.
I stayed in my room all night, waiting for sleep to co.
However, even after it got dark outside and everything fell silent (most people went to bed), I couldn't sleep. I got up and grabbed my notebook to start writing.
I should work on the fourth volu of Re: Zero, but there's no need to rush.
Besides, I feel like writing sothing different.
"I've thought about a few works before, but… I can't decide. Maybe I should write sothing original this ti?"
I'm not entirely confident in my writing, and my [Writer] skill is still low. I think writing sothing successful in my old world is better and will likely be a hit here, too.
It has to be a fantasy story.
"Maybe Overlord?"
I think it's a good idea. There's no concept of VRMMO gas in this world, which might make it a bit harder for readers to understand… But I can write sothing original to explain it all.
People were already impressed by the glimpses of the original world ntioned in Re: Zero; imagine if I wrote an entire chapter about a futuristic world with such a fantastic concept as VRMMO.
It's ti to focus!
I started writing, and several hours passed.
I didn't stop for a second.
Throughout the process, I tore out so pages and bit my nails. I struggled a lot with the first chapters. The reason is simple: I haven't read the Overlord novels.
I've only watched the four seasons of the ani.
I rember a friend who read them telling
about the story's future, but that's not enough to write all the volus.
"But maybe the computer can help
with that."
By the ti the sun rose, I had only written half a volu.
I closed the notebook and stretched.
"I think I'll keep this work a secret from Hestia and Lili for now."

I went downstairs and prepared breakfast. It was very early, so everything had gone cold when Hestia ca down.
But she didn't mind and ate anyway.
She ate in silence. I tried talking to her, but she wasn't in the mood. 'She's still upset.'
"I'm going to the library to talk to Elma, then to my room to write on the computer. I'll be gone for a few hours."
"Mhm…" Hestia looked at , then went back to eating.
I sighed and left the mansion. When I got to the library, many people were outside. The third volu of Re: Zero was released. I looked at its cover and smiled.
The cover was, once again, illustrated by Bella.
"Beautiful."
The artwork was perfect.
It featured Rem and Ram on the cover. Both wore beautiful maid uniforms, and Bella's unique style made them look cuter. The original Volu 3 had Beatrice on the cover, but this cover is excellent…
'I need to ask Bella to illustrate the covers for Overlord, too.'
The covers and art for Overlord are stunning. Bella could reach 60% of that quality. Even if it's just 60%, it'll be good enough.
When I entered the library, Elma wasn't there.
Three won cared for the library, but Elma was nowhere to be found. I approached one of the won and asked, "Is Elma around? Let her know Luan is here to talk to her."
"Luan?" The woman's eyes lit up. "Of course, I'll be right back."
Damn it, she left!
This is going to take even longer!
Damn it!
People began complaining as the woman left to find Elma. Minutes later, Elma appeared with a smile on her face. "You finally showed up. What did you think of the new cover? It's incredible, right?"
"This ti, you didn't even ask for my opinion."
"Are you angry?"
"Of course not. But next ti, talk to
when you're ordering the art. I've got so ideas for the covers."
"Got it, I'll take care of that. So, what brings you here? Were you curious about the third volu?" I followed Elma to the stockroom. "The third volu is being very well received. We started selling it yesterday, and sales have already surpassed 15,000 copies."
"That's insane."
"Isn't it?!"
"But I'm not here to talk about the third volu."
"Then you're here to talk about the fourth volu?!"
"I'm here to discuss a new book I will publish."
"If it's not a fourth volu, then that ans…" Elma, who was preparing tea for us, froze. "You're starting a completely new story? Are you kidding ?"
"Don't worry, it won't interfere with the release of Re: Zero. I can handle writing two stories simultaneously without a problem."
"It's not that I don't trust you… But… maybe readers will worry that you'll neglect Re: Zero, and sales might drop."
"That won't happen." I laughed. "I'll keep publishing volus regularly, so don't worry."
"I'll trust you!" Elma's eyes sparkled. "But… What's this new story about? I'm curious. Is it like Re: Zero? Or is it sothing completely different… Maybe a romance?!"
"It's a world where magic exists, like in Re: Zero, but the story is completely different. It's not as dramatic, but it's still excellent."
"I'm already intrigued!"
"When I finish the first volu, I'll bring it for you to read. Oh, and let Bella know she'll also illustrate this new story's covers. I want her to do illustrations for the book as well."
"I'll tell her. I'm sure she'll be thrilled to hear that."
