Chapter 78: Chapter 78 A Word Becos a Prophecy_1

Lin Yue rembered that last night she repeatedly reminded Zhao Erhu to wake her up when he got up, but when she woke up, the person beside her had already left, and the other half of the bed was cold and chilly. Anxious, Lin Yue quickly bounced out of bed, threw on a piece of clothing haphazardly, and ran out of the room, praying in her heart that Erhu hadn’t already left; otherwise, all the special trouble she had gone through to prepare the food yesterday would have been in vain.

Fortunately, when Lin Yue got to the kitchen and saw the oil lamp still burning, she knew for sure that the man hadn’t left yet. She breathed a sigh of relief and hurried into the kitchen. Zhao Erhu was already wearing his bow and arrows on his back. If she had woken up any later, she really would have missed him.

“Brother Erhu, why didn’t you wake up! I reminded you so many tis last night, really,” she said.

“I thought it was still early, I had everything ready for going into the mountains, and there wasn’t much for you to help with even if you got up, so I didn’t wake you. I didn’t expect you to wake up on your own. It’s so bright in the morning, how can you just put on such a thin piece of clothing? What if you catch a cold? Go back to the room and sleep a little more. I’m about to leave,” Zhao Erhu said, furrowing his brows as he held Lin Yue’s sowhat chilly hands and led her back toward the house.

“Ready for what? Are you planning to go into the mountains without eating or drinking? How co I don’t know about any food you’ve prepared? Or were you planning to feast on the northwest wind?” Lin Yue was truly a bit angry. How could this man not know how to take care of himself? Was he the only one who knew how to feel concerned about others?

After being chided by Lin Yue, Zhao Erhu wasn’t angry at all; his little wife was concerned about him. “Niuniu, you’re talking nonsense. Do you think your Brother Erhu is that foolish? There are so many wild animals in the mountains. If I’m hungry, I can just hunt and eat them. I won’t go hungry. Don’t worry about ,” he said.

“Stop treating like a child, okay? Even if you go into the mountains, it doesn’t an you’re guaranteed to catch ga right away. And even if you did, would you really allow yourself to eat three als a day? I know you. You always try to save what you can. Unless you’re really starving, you wouldn’t roast the ga to eat. But how can you stand to be constantly hungry, especially when hunting requires strength? If sothing happened, what would the children and I do?”

Lin Yue’s words were ant just to remind Zhao Erhu to be cautious and careful while hunting, to consider his own safety a bit more for the sake of her and the children. She hadn’t expected that her words would beco a regrettable prophecy. Knowing that the events that later happened were not related to her words, she still couldn’t help but bla herself for jinxing it, for not sending Erhu off with a good on. Fortunately, Erhu eventually ca around. Otherwise, these words might have haunted her for the rest of her life.

After finishing her speech, Lin Yue went back to her room to get dressed, and she specifically asked Zhao Erhu to wait for her to co out before leaving. When Lin Yue finally erged, dressed and holding a bundle in her hand, which contained the food she had prepared the day before, she handed it to Zhao Erhu while giving instructions.

It was only when Zhao Erhu received the bundle that he realized where Lin Yue had stashed yesterday’s prepared food—in their room, which explained why he couldn’t find it in the kitchen. It hadn’t occurred to him that his little wife had been so busy the previous day preparing food for him. His heart felt warm, and for the first ti, he realized how fortunate it was to have a wife.

Even though he had been married twice before, he had always made his own preparations for each hunting trip, with no one taking care of these things for him. The Li Family’s woman was so coquettish and lazy that he was always the one attending to her. As for the Zhao Family, perhaps she was just too upright and considered it improper to inquire about a man’s affairs outside the ho, so she had never done these things for him either.
