Chapter 308: Chapter 302: Sorrowful Rembrance_1 Chapter 308: Chapter 302: Sorrowful Rembrance_1 Compared to Zhao Erhu’s worries, Lin Yue was sowhat blissfully lost in an all too vivid dream at the mont. She dreamt of the past, her childhood, her grandfather, and all that followed, including the man she once had a crush on but didn’t dare to approach because of her own inferiority.

That man’s na was Qin Lang, her senior during university who she interacted with a few tis by sheer coincidence. Qin Lang wasn’t just from a good background and academically excellent, but he was also incredibly handso, making him the object of affection for all the girls in school, including her. Such an outstanding man, yet he bore not a hint of arrogance. He was polite and gentle to everyone, and his smile was always brimming with warmth. It was his warmth that ensnared Lin Yue, and from a few subsequent encounters, feelings nad affection uncontrollably grew inside her until Qin Lang graduated and left school.

Lin Yue never expected that she would run into such a coincidence in her new job, where Qin Lang turned out to be her superior. Their interactions beca more frequent. Lin Yue was excited, but she understood even more that a man like him was out of her league, whether in terms of family background or personal abilities and appearance. Even though sotis she felt that Qin Lang treated her a bit differently, other tis she thought she was overthinking it. After all, Qin Lang was always so courteous and polite to everyone, not just her.

Later on, at a company gathering, Lin Yue accidentally learned that Qin Lang had gotten engaged. This piece of news struck her as if it were a calamity, piercing directly into her brain. Although Lin Yue knew an impossibility when she saw one, when the last sliver of hope in her heart was extinguished, she finally tasted the feeling of heartache.

Knowing she could no longer face Qin Lang, and without even seeing him one last ti, Lin Yue left behind a resignation letter and departed to start her entrepreneurial journey. Years later, Qin Lang sohow found her out of the blue and inquired why she had left without saying goodbye. Lin Yue’s heart was filled with a gloomy turmoil. Her unrequited love was hardly sothing she could speak of, so she could only hang her head in silence under Qin Lang’s still warm gaze, her mind in disarray.

Following that encounter, Lin Yue didn’t even know how she ended up exchanging contact information with Qin Lang. By another stroke of fate, they coincidentally t a few more tis. Qin Lang always enthusiastically invited her for als or to have coffee together. If Lin Yue wasn’t aware of Qin Lang’s social status and his fiancée, she might have almost believed he was pursuing her. Such a thought as soon as it arose, Lin Yue suppressed it fiercely, fearing she’d entertain so unwelco fantasies. She imrsed herself even more in her work, trying to numb herself, but then ca the night she fell into a deep sleep and awoke as if she had beco another person.

Lin Yue’s spirit floated through many places, eventually arriving at the location where she once worked with Qin Lang. Every arrangent, every blade of grass there was exactly the sa as when she left, without a speck of dust on the desk, obviously well maintained by the current occupant.

Moving through walls, Lin Yue saw the man who had once haunted her dreams and left her feeling so humble and sorrowful—the only man she had ever loved. He was now carefully examining a photograph with a sadness and nostalgia on his face that Lin Yue had never seen before. Once his handso face was always filled with a warm smile that seed to radiate warmth to anyone who saw it. Now, when had such grief taken hold?

Who was in that photograph? Lin Yue was suddenly overtaken by an intense curiosity. She desperately wanted to see for herself who was in the photograph. Was it Qin Lang’s fiancée? Had sothing happened to her to cause Qin Lang such distress?

When Lin Yue’s gaze finally settled on the photograph, she saw a familiar face, and disbelief surged through her. It was herself in the picture, from her ti at school, sitting on a bench by the garden, engrossed in a book. The person in the photo was focused and peaceful, unaware that she was being candidly captured, and this photograph was in her senior’s possession. What did this an? Did he truly like her? Maybe her past impressions weren’t illusions, and her senior did have feelings for her.

Although it was clearly a dream, Lin Yue felt her heartbeat race at this mont, overwheld with a sense of happiness that filled her chest. But it quickly subsided as she rembered Qin Lang’s fiancée, like a bucket of cold water poured over her head in the heat of sumr. If her senior really liked her, how could he get engaged to another woman? By now, they must have married or perhaps even had a cute child, considering their age. With Qin Lang’s family background, it’s unlikely his family would not have interfered if he wasn’t married. The more Lin Yue thought about it, the more sour she felt inside; if it weren’t for being in a dream, she probably would’ve cried her eyes out.

The secretary knocked and entered, “Mr. Qin, the car is all arranged; we should set out for the hospital.”

“Understood, let’s go.” Qin Lang nodded upon hearing this, put the photo away, and treasured it in his wallet. His face no longer betrayed any emotion, nor did it carry his usual warm smile. His expressionless deanor felt cold and distant, yet Lin Yue couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache.

Lin Yue floated along with Qin Lang to the hospital. When she saw the person lying there, she beca even more unsettled—it was her own self! She had thought that with her current situation, her modern-day self would’ve already died. She had fallen asleep at ho and had not woken up; how could she be lying in the hospital, connected to all sorts of tubes and monitoring equipnt, with an IV drip attached to her hand, seemingly a vegetative patient?

“Mr. Qin, you’re here.”

“Doctor, how is my girlfriend doing now? Can you determine the cause of her coma? Why can’t she wake up despite her vital signs being normal?” Qin Lang’s gaze was filled with deep affection as he looked at the girl lying on the bed. Lin Yue’s skin was an unhealthy pale from lying in the hospital room too long without sunlight, making her appear especially frail and pitiable.

In Qin Lang’s mory, Lin Yue had always been a vibrant and energetic girl, resilient like a tough wild grass, always facing life with optimism and strength, rarely showing such a fragile side.

Lin Yue froze upon hearing Qin Lang refer to her as his girlfriend in front of the doctor, seeking to confirm that she hadn’t misheard.

“Mr. Qin, as you know, our hospital has the most advanced dical equipnt and dical staff in the country. Despite using the latest technology and instrunts to examine Miss Lin, we’ve found her body to be perfectly normal. As to why she still hasn’t awakened, we really can’t find a reason. It’s a phenonon science cannot explain.”
