Volu 14 Chapter 52: Keith Vs Aidiun

"Hah, guess we're suffering for their cockiness." The others were probably suffering, facing off against the instructors. He could hear it now.

"Haha." Aidiun chuckled, "You're taking this surprisingly well." The child was way too calm and collected. Well, he was always composed.

"Because it was going to happen sooner or later." Acceptance. He just had to accept it and move on.

"But I thought I would be facing Instructor Tennol or Shire." There was sothing he didn't anticipate; those two were the likely ones in his mind to test him, not Aidiun. Tennol was the one who taught him how to use the shield, while Shire was an amazing mage.

“No, you will be facing off against . They have others to deal with."

"...I see." So, one of them is after Herrick and lor.

“Understood, what do you want to use?” Keith was confident,

“You can use whatever weapon you want against .” The elf summoned a staff into his hand.

"Eh?"

"Your final is simple; defeat ." No tricks or any hidden agenda; it was a straightforward test.

Keith nodded, "Understood." The mont he did so, lightning spears flew across the room, aid at Aidiun! However, mounds of shields appeared before the elf, colliding against them. With all that smoke and explosion.

Block!

Aidiun raised his staff, blocking Keith's sword. The boy frowned, "So Professor Aidiun isn't a mage." That was what he had always thought. With how he prioritized magic, he thought the elf was a mage.

"Learning close combat is necessary to guard against warriors." Having so basic knowledge would protect them from sneak attacks.

"What was that large amount of mana?" There was another matter; those bolts of lightning required a large amount of mana.

"That's because I can't hold back against Professor Aidiun." A gut instinct. Cutting corners against the elf would spell his defeat.

"Fair. However, do you think you can talk while we fight?" As Aidiun pushed him back, a rain of magic equal to his rained down!

Keith quickly raises his guard to block against all of them. But they were easily broken in rapid succession. Aidiun smiled, "You made two mistakes; you didn't finish off in the beginning, and you shouldn't have held back." He smirked at the boy. Even as he told him he wasn't going to hold back, he held back.

"..."

"When you're fighting against a much stronger opponent, there's no need for you to talk. You go for the kill with your very first strike." The first strike was quite significant; it was when your opponent was the least wary.

"But I also need to grasp my opponent's abilities." Figuring out what your opponent was capable of allowed him to make plans.

"That's only if the person is equal to you in strength. That's not the case right here." With a simple wave, he started to fire off magic again. Keith continued to block them by creating shields.

"You won't beat by only guarding." It was a loss. Each ti Keith created one, it broke not even a second later.

“Keith, do you think those childish antics will defeat ?” Aidiun's eyes showed sothing the boy had never seen before. It was that of a beast. Kill. Those eyes showed all the bloodlust, yet not at the sa ti. It was the feeling of superiority.

Go all out! That was what his body told him! Keith waved his hand. A wave of lightning bombarded the elf one more ti. However, mixed with this lightning were earth lances. The elf had used a specific elent to block against his lightning.

"Oh," Aidiun quickly added another elent into the mix, blocking the ear. Before he could counter attack,

A giant pressure pressed down on his entire body. You're finally using that magic. Gravity. Besides pushing down his body, there was another effect.

Swoosh! The magic he cast in the air sped down even faster, raining down like bullets. Through this bombardnt ca Keith rushing at blinding speeds!

Aidiun calmly took out Keith, and yet…Shatter. There was nothing there. It was only a block of ice. Keith dashed from behind. Got him! With his sword raised, he slashed. However,

“To use your ice magic to make a double. I have to admit, that was a smart decision.” “Eh?” Keith felt his sword stuck. It wouldn't budge from his body.

“However, tricks like that won't work against !” A gust of wind sent him flying! Keith’s eyes turned dangerous, and that was when he started to chant and write at the sa ti.

A one-shot move. He was gambling, but he needed to use his best move right now. However, Aidiun did the sa. But this caused Keith to freeze!

Aidiun was casting grand-level magic!

“Ragh!” A giant torrent of lightning vs a gust of wind! It was so strong that

However, out of the rubble, there was only one winner. “Keith, you lose.” Aidiun stood there unfazed as he stood tall.

“...”

"Do you know why I wanted to fight with you?"

"Hmm?" Keith was wobbling back and forth.

"To show you there's more to the world." For the student's growth. There was sothing odd. S-class students were strong, but that was only from a school standard. The instructors needed to bring them down a peg.

“However, you’re different.” Keith was the only outlier to all of this. He was the one who took this seriously, and he was going to try his best to do all of it.

"You passed the finals." The elf said nothing more as he walked away.
