The plane took off from the ground. Little Seven, who was on a plane for the second ti, was not as nervous as before. Her hands under the blanket were not about to break the armrests.

However, her complexion was still sowhat pale with a feeling of weightlessness.

On the return trip, they were still in business class, with two people per row.

This ti, the chairman sat with her in one row, while Steven sat in the row next to them.

Little Seven ate so snacks. It was said that eating snacks would eliminate the discomfort of taking off in a plane.

She accidentally ate all the snacks of both the chairman and Steven.

Although Xiao Shengzhou was holding a newspaper, he could actually see Little Seven in the corner of his eye eating snacks with bulging cheeks. At this mont, he felt that she was really just a freshman, just a little girl. Usually she seed too serious and disciplined.

When the plane reached the stratosphere, the stewardess ca out again to walk around, and the atmosphere on the plane beca more relaxed.

Little Seven breathed a sigh of relief and took out a Japanese novel to read. It had Chinese-Japanese bilingual text so she could check the Chinese when she didn't understand sothing.

This allowed her to both learn Japanese and enjoy reading novels at the sa ti.

Xiao Shengzhou was no longer surprised to see Little Seven's Japanese novel. He had already experienced how hard this little girl tried to learn. He suspected that the only ti Little Seven rested was when she was working and training on the ranch. Otherwise, she would be studying all the ti.

Little Seven was seriously reading the book. She was reading Yamashita Toyko's "The White Tower", which was made into a very popular TV series in 2003.

The book was very thick, even thicker with the Chinese-Japanese bilingual text. Just the first volu was already half a finger thick.

She shouldn't have brought such a thick book when traveling light, but the novel was so good that she couldn't resist bringing it along. It was about Deputy Professor Caizen Goro's efforts to beco the first professor of surgery, and his eventual success. The protagonist was not a traditionally good, kind and beautiful main character. In order to achieve his goals, he would stop at nothing. His personality had cold, selfish, and vulgar sides, yet he still moved people, making them unconsciously identify with this character, wondering what they would do if they were Caizen Goro.

Caizen Goro could be described as a Phoenix man who started from a low point but was very hardworking and excellent. Little Seven felt quite relatable to him. If she were Caizen Goro, she wouldn't be able to do those things or do them well.

However, after Caizen Goro finally beca a professor through so much effort, even compromising his conscience to climb upwards, crisis erged again, because he misdiagnosed a patient who died from the mistake... Little Seven also disliked this side of Caizen Goro, but at the sa ti felt anxious for him. He had tried so hard and used every ans possible to beco a professor. Could it just end like this?

As expected of the protagonist, with the help of lawyers and other doctors, Caizen Goro won this lawsuit. Just as it looked like he would reach new heights by winning the mber election for an academic conference, he found out that he had an incurable illness...

Little Seven had already read the Chinese version of this book and was deeply moved by it. Although the protagonist Caizen Goro started from a low point, he was truly an extrely capable and charismatic person. Little Seven felt that she was less than one tenth of him, but soone so outstanding had made so much effort, even compromising his conscience to move upwards, yet ultimately still lost to illness and reality.

It left her with complex feelings that were hard to describe, a heavy feeling that was hard to let go of after finishing the book.

Little Seven felt that maybe the translation was wrong, so she looked for the Japanese version to read carefully again.

Since she would have plenty of ti to read during her travels, she decided to bring this book along.

Reading the original text, she realized there were still subtle differences. So details felt strange in the Chinese translation but made more sense in the original Japanese, clearly issues arising from translation.

At this mont on the plane, drawing from past experience, Little Seven wore comfortable sportswear - sweatpants and a hoodie. If she wanted to sleep and was worried about getting a headache from the air conditioning, she could just pull up the hood. Business class allowed her to change into slippers, and wearing sweatpants let her sit cross-legged, making the long flight more comfortable.

Xiao Shengzhou also wasn't in the habit of chatting with girls. He always felt that when together, he had to co up with sothing to talk about or find topics, which was quite tiring.

However, interacting with Little Seven a few tis felt very natural. Last ti...last ti she fell asleep in his car. This ti, they simply read their books separately, and the atmosphere was good.

Little Seven had a very pleasant sll, a very clean sll.

In fact, it was just a lack of any strange odors. Because of her sensitive nose, Little Seven would rinse off thoroughly even after using shower gel, unless it was a scent she liked.

As she read about Caizen Goro's father-in-law bribing others by pushing over a box of money to help Caizen Goro get elected as head of surgery, doing it all with a righteous look on his face as if discussing sothing important, without any furtive awkwardness, she wasn't sure if this was Japanese gift-giving customs or just thick skin. In any case, it felt quite interesting to read.

Overall though, Little Seven still found the book heavy and complex.

Watching the already successful elite Caizen Goro still struggling upwards, thinking the darkest day was over only for it to end up all for naught.

Although the story was about the dical community, dical systems, doctor groups, dical ethics, etc., it was also a microcosm of society, a corner of society. For a student like Little Seven who was still in school, it made society seem overly complicated, giving her a slight social anxiety.

Just the competition for a position already felt like a life or death struggle.

Little Seven was engrossed in reading when the stewardess ca by to serve the al, interrupting her.

She looked forward to the business class airplane food.

From the beginning, Little Seven flew business class. She had sneaked a peek at the economy class als, which looked like boxed lunches, while the business class als were individually plated with cutlery and a small vase with a flower for ambiance, although completely useless but contributing to the sense of occasion. Sohow it made the food seem tastier.

She ordered the beef rice, which not only had piping hot braised beef but also separate fluffy rice sprinkled with sesa seeds, thick sliced beef tendon, fruits like fresh dates and bananas, and a separate packet of chili sauce. The soup was egg drop soup with seaweed, served in a pretty white porcelain bowl.

The bowls and plates were small but complete.

Surprisingly, the chili sauce was especially delicious. Originally ant for the beef tendon, Little Seven directly ate half the leftover packet as a snack, even taking a picture with her phone to note down the brand, Miaolajiao. She made a ntal note that after getting off the plane, she could buy so online. Her dormmates would probably like it too, it was so tasty.

Happily eating, Little Seven suddenly heard a chanical voice in her mind: "Host's attentive reading and empathy with the characters' emotions has been detected. Rewarding host with 1 random study card for book characters. A random character will be selected and a random ability of that character. Use this card?"

Little Seven didn't understand how the system randomly gave out rewards. She read plenty of books daily, but this reward was so random. Was it because she was particularly attentive this ti, or did she scratch her feet while reading?

"Use," she responded.

Then the chanical voice flatly said: "Host has successfully selected Caizen Goro's father-in-law Caizhen Youyi's shaless thick skin. Learn this ability?"

Little Seven: Pfft...the last piece of beef tendon in her mouth flew out.
