Chapter 335: What...Had They Done?

The other princes weren’t like him. They often talk sweetly to them and go beyond intimate with them. But the third prince, on the other hand, was as cold as ice, seeking nothing but the coldness of her body.

Draven pulled her closer, burying his face in her neck as though seeking comfort; however, at the sll of her scent, he pulled his head away, completely disapproving of it.

Her scent was normal, however, he didn’t seem to like it. He’d had a scent such as Avelina’s in his mind, but it was the complete opposite.

Avelina’s scent was so comforting for him that he’d often feel like he was in heaven each ti he hid his face in her neck. She slled like paradise to him and was the only solace his soul had ever sought and approved of.

Why had he assud it would be the sa with this woman? Scent differed, but it wasn’t just the sll that mattered. Scents had to do with its gentleness and the level of comfort it could give, and Avelina’s scent was sothing that made him feel like he was lying in a cloud bed.

Not even his late wife’s scent could compare.

A deep breath fled from Draven, and instead of inhaling the lady’s scent, he shifted his whole attention to her hair. It slled nice, so that was sothing.

By the ti Avelina woke up the next day, it was already ten a.m. She blinked her lashes apart and stared at the ceiling for a few seconds, as though trying to digest the familiar surroundings.

With a subtle groan escaping from her, she sat up on the bed and looked around. Her gaze halted at the open curtain, and she frowned at the sound of running water.

"Who’s there?" she asked.

A few seconds passed before the door of the bathroom opened. None other than Camilla and Thalia walked out with a polite smile evident on their faces.

"Bonjour, my lady," they greeted in unison, dipping in curtsy.

Avelina took a soft breath of relief and nodded at them. She glanced at her foot, beaming at the realization that it was no longer hurting. It had healed, just like Mr. Jean told her.

"Would you like to have your bath now, my lady?" Camilla inquired.

Avelina nodded, climbing down from the bed. She walked into the bathroom, slipping out of her dress and stepping into the tub. She sighed the mont the water touched her bare body and slowly shut her eyes, letting Camilla and Thalia do all the work.

Amidst her bath, she couldn’t help but suddenly recall the incident with Edward. Her body quivered at the recollection of it, and she instinctively wrapped her arms around her body.

Never would she have assud that Edward would attempt to do such a thing to her. He seed so nice and appeared to be such a gentleman. A book really shouldn’t be judged just by its cover.

What if Draven hadn’t co on ti? What would have happened? Would she have been abused and—

Speaking of Draven... Avelina fluttered her wet eyes and turned her head to glance at Thalia. "Have any of you seen my husband?"

He was supposed to be in the room with her, wasn’t he? Where could he have gone? His villa? She was curious.

Camilla and Thalia both glanced at each other. Thalia smiled awkwardly at her, seeming as though she would rather not say a word.

Avelina furrowed her brows, suddenly sensing that sothing might be wrong. But what could it be?

"Is sothing wrong?" she probed.

Thalia shook her head at her. "N-no, my lady. Do not mind my expression, haha." She cackled dryly. "My lady, I would rather you not go to find his highness."

"Huh? Why?" Avelina was seriously bewildered at this point. Did sothing happen to Draven? Why was it better not to see him?

Thalia looked at Camilla as though searching for so sort of backup, but Camilla simply shrugged at her.

Avelina looked at each of them, and the more ti they wasted to answer her question, the more her expression crumpled. "What is going on? Did sothing happen while I was unconscious?"

Thalia smiled at her and shook her head. "No...nothing happened. His Highness is in the second bedroom, my lady. You can find him there."

"Oh?" Avelina was still quite suspicious. "Why did you waste so much ti to let

know? Gosh, you both had

worried for absolutely nothing."

She scoffed, annoyed.

Camila and Thalia looked at each other with pessimistic expressions and continued to wash their bodies.

Clad in a new light green dress that bounced just at knee length, Avelina slipped her feet into her slippers and adjusted her hair, letting it drop almost to her waist.

She glanced at herself in the mirror and, satisfied with her looks, she curled up her lips into a warm smile.

Avelina turned around and walked toward the door. She opened the door and looked to the side, hoping to see Santino, but Santino was nowhere to be found. She wondered if he’d gone on an errand or sothing.

Shrugging, she slamd the door shut. She was going to see Draven and talk with him about what happened yesterday.

She proceeded to the next room, where Draven was, and knocked on the door. But no response ca, even after a minute.

Worried, she turned the knob and opened the door. She stepped inside and approached the bed with a full smile on her face.

"Drave—" Her smile fell the mont she saw the duvet move and a woman pop her head out.

She lowered her eyes, and her gaze dropped on Draven, who was tightly holding onto the lady, comfortably asleep.

What...had happened? What had they done?

Avelina felt her stomach twist and a sudden lump she couldn’t seem to swallow until that mont erged in her throat.

Her eyes flickered rapidly, and she slowly began to take a deep breath, abruptly feeling so kind of dizziness overwhelm her.
