Chapter 176: Please...Stay Away

As they were about to take the last three steps to reach the second floor of the building, the sudden lody of a piano began to reverberate.

Olive imdiately furrowed his brows. Lucien looked around, confused.

"Who is playing that? Could it be—"

"Co." Olive moved up to the second floor with her. The closer they got to the room where the sound was coming from, the louder the lody.

Standing before the supposed room, he grabbed the handle and slowly opened the door. Lucien stepped in with him.

At the center of the room, a lanky figure sat with his dark hair cascading down his shoulders. His slender fingers were effortlessly moving on the keys.

"Who’s there?" the figure asked.

Olive’s eyes instantly broadened. That voice! He knew it!

"Valentine!" he hollered.

"Huh?" The silhouette imdiately stopped playing. He turned around, and the second his gaze t that of Olive’s, he went still.

"You! What are you doing here? Why are you here?" he questioned. This person was Valentine. From how comfortable he was in the old mansion, one could tell that he must have been coming there quite often. Even to the point of having a piano installed.

Olive loured, baffled. "I should be asking you that."

Valentine stood up from the chair and walked toward him. He stared at him and fluttered his eyes.

"Why are you here?"

"To find soone," Olive replied. The last thing he would have imagined was eting Valentine here in the middle of his mission.

Valentine arched his brow. "Soone? In this place?"

"Yes," Olive responded.

"But no one stays in this place." Valentine shook his head at him.

"You’re wrong," Olive disagreed. "Soone does live—" he imdiately went quiet.

Lucien was right beside him. How could he have forgotten? With a slow motion, he turned his head to glimpse Lucien, who was gazing at him with a fallen jaw.

"Lucien—"

"You two! You two are friends?" Lucien’s voice was high. Deep shock was an understatent of what she was feeling at that mont.

How could they be friends? This young man was their boss’s younger brother, and Olive knew damn well that being friends with him was totally unacceptable. Don would be furious if he found out!

"Lucien, I can explain," Olive said to her.

Lucien blinked and cleaned her eyes just to be sure that the person she was seeing was Valentine. She looked at Olive. "How could you two be friends?"

"He is not my friend!" Olive’s tone was filled with annoyance.

"What?!" Valentine was stunned. "What do you an by that?"

Olive shifted his gaze to him.

"Listen, we are not friends! I never said we were, and we will never be! I don’t care if you assu that we are or try to force it just because you have none and want to fill that void. But one thing is for sure! We can never be friends."

"Just because I let you into my ho and took care of you does not make us friends. I only did that because I felt sorry for you. No one in their right mind would see you in that pitiful state and not help. So please, just stop. You are getting on my nerves, and I don’t like it at all."

He took a deep breath. "I don’t understand why you haven’t understood that. You are forcing your friendship on , and I hate it. If I wanted to be your friend, I would have done so without any reluctance."

"Stay away from

and just leave

alone, okay? I don’t want you around because you are only going to cause unnecessary trouble for , which I do not want. So please...stay away."

Valentine blinked his eyes. He was not sure if the person he was currently staring at was Olive. The sa person who was there for him and took literal care of him in a way that nobody has ever done.

Why was he saying all these terrible things to him? He deeply exhaled to compose himself.

"Oh..." From his tone and the sudden change of glint in his eyes, one could tell that he was hurt. He didn’t even know what to say at that mont.

Even Lucien did not fail to notice.

"I see..." Valentine scratched his neck. "Well, I am sorry. Yeah...you’re right." He nodded. "You’re right, and I apologize. I’m sorry for not realizing sooner and leaving you alone." He smiled gently and stuffed his hands into the pocket of his pants.

He walked past them to leave. Lucien, who felt sort of bad about the way Olive spoke to him, glanced at him.

"Hey, va—"

The sound of sothing falling to the ground reverberated from the last floor, causing Valentine to imdiately co to a halt.

Olive and Lucien looked around, confused.

"What was that?" Lucien queried.

Valentine furrowed his brows and began to walk down the stairs to the third floor. Olive and Lucien followed behind him. The mont they took the last step, their gaze fell on a tall man, 6’7 in height, staring down at a broken vase.

From the way he stood, one could imdiately tell that the vase had slipped off his hands. His entire hair was gray and curly. His skin was not quite smooth, and all over his arms, he had scars. From what? No one knew.

Valentine blinked his eyes perplexed. Olive and Lucien glanced at each other, and Lucien swallowed hard.

"O-olive... he is an S grade."

Olive knew she was right. Just the man’s appearance alone was intimidating, and he had to be an S-graded ancient vampire. How unlucky and lucky they are at the sa ti.

Draven had always hoped for an S grade, and he finally got it. He was sure that if Draven knew it was an S grade, he would have co by himself. They were extrely rare, and therefore no one expected that this one would be an S grade.

Lucien was already trembling on her spot. Sure, werewolves were stronger than normal vampires, and even as strong as Olive was, she was matched with him in combat, but this one standing right before them, she stands not even a tiny bit of chance.
