Chapter 160: You Should Mind, Avelina

Draven, who had arrived next to her, grabbed her waist and lifted her off the floor.

"Are you okay?" He knew that fall must have definitely hurt.

Avelina nodded at him. "I’m fine, but...not completely. My legs feel so wobbly."

Draven sat her down on the bed.

"I know. You shouldn’t move too much yet. I really ant it when I said you are fine now."

Avelina tilted her head. "How did you save ? I an, tomorrow is the seventh night, aning last night was not the end?"

Draven tucked the few strands of her hair behind her ear and began to explain to her. As soon as he was done clarifying her, Avelina flickered her eyes.

A wide smile slowly erged on her face, and she broke out into laughter.

"Oh, my goodness! Natasha really hates ." She was rather amused.

Draven nodded. "It seems so."

"Draven, we are having breakfast with the whole family today, right?" Avelina inquired.

"Yes," Draven replied. "Why do you ask?"

"Nothing." Avelina’s lips curled into an ugly smile. "I just can’t wait to see the look on Natasha’s face. Ugh! It will be so satisfying!"

Draven watched her in silence, as though thinking. Abruptly, he cackled and ruffled her hair.

Avelina glanced at him. "Why are you laughing?"

"Nothing." Draven shook his head. "The look on your face is adorable, that’s all." He pulled her cheek and stood up to his feet.

"Co." He carefully lifted her into his arms as though she were a baby.

Avelina wrapped her arms around his neck and interlocked her legs around his waist. Draven walked into the bathroom and shut the door behind them. He strolled over to the sink and sat Avelina down on the sink countertop.

He grabbed Avelina’s brush and gave it to her. Avelina stared at him as she slowly put the pasted brush in her mouth to brush her teeth.

She could not help but notice his elongated fangs. They were usually not out—well, a little bit, but it never showed this vividly unless he willingly lengthened them.

"Draven, your...fangs are out." She spoke in a muffled tone.

Draven glanced at his teeth in the mirror. "It has been itching for a while now," he said.

"Huh?" Avelina spat into the sink.

Draven gave a nod. "Yes. It’s quite annoying, and I often feel the urge to pull them out. Irritating if I must say."

"But...why? Why do they itch?" Avelina asked.

Draven glanced at her and shifted his eyes to her neck. "Because it’s gone."

"What is gone?" Avelina was confused.

Draven shrugged. "Your mark. The one I gave you back then."

"Oh..." Avelina touched her neck. "That’s why your fangs itch?"

"Yes." Draven nodded. "The mark has faded, and as long as you are near , my fangs will always itch, because I have the strong desire to mark you again. And since I cannot do that, it will always itch. It’s pretty botherso, and that is why I have been avoiding eating."

Avelina was at a loss for words. "So...that’s why...that’s why you have been rubbing your teeth with your tongue lately?"

"Yes." Draven spat into the sink and scooped a palmful of water to wash his face. "It makes it less irritating."

Avelina bit her lower lip.

"So...if you mark

again, will it stop?"

Draven glanced at her. "Yes, but do not worry, I will not do that." He half smiled at her.

Avelina took a deep breath. "Is there another way you can stop it?"

"Yes," Draven nodded. "I will simply have to find soone else to mark. Once I do that, it will stop, and neither will I have the desire to mark you anymore."

"Oh..." Avelina was sure that she felt her heart skip a bit at his statent.

"So...um...if you do mark soone else, doesn’t that an you will continue to mark that particular person?"

Draven nodded at her. "Yes, I’ll have to. Like I told you, once I find soone else to mark, I will no longer feel that strong desire to do it to you. That is why we have mates, Avelina."

"Oh..." Avelina blinked her eyes. She was aware of what mates were to their kinds. "So, w-who is your mate?"

"I do not know." Draven shook his head.

Avelina was stunned. "Huh? why? What about your late wife?"

"She is not my mate," Draven clarified. "I have not found my mate. I think it is because I cannot feel love and so emotions. So, I don’t feel mate bonds either, which ans that even if I t my mate, I wouldn’t know, because I cannot feel the mate bond."

Avelina furrowed her brows. "If that is so, then how are you sure that your late wife is not your mate?"

"She really is not," Draven replied. "She never felt it. If she was my mate, she would have felt it even if I didn’t."

Avelina nodded her head as everything suddenly made sense to her. She lowered her head and took a deep breath.

"W-will you go and find soone else to mark?" she probed.

Draven looked at her. "Yes. I don’t like the itchy feeling. I want it to go away."

"Ah..." Disappointnt washed over Avelina and she looked to the other side avoiding his gaze. "Draven, what if...what if I want you to?"

"Huh?" Draven blinked his eyes. "Want

to do what?"

Avelina cleared her throat. "T-to um...to m-mark

again?"

Draven was montarily stunned. "What? Avelina—"

"I don’t mind, Draven." Avelina shook her head at him. It was better than letting him go out and mark so random woman. She hated the idea and it annoyed her the second Draven affird he would do it. It’s not like she said no...

Letting him do that was sothing she suddenly could not stand.

Draven frowned.

"You should mind, Avelina. Don’t you know that it would keep rging my scent with yours the more I mark you? Although humans may not sll it, my kind will. They will perceive my scent on you."
