Chapter 141: What Do You an By That?

With a swift, almost primal motion, Draven captured Avelina’s lips with his own, his tongue delicately licking the blood. He sucked on her lower lip, not even letting one drop slip.

He moved to her neck and licked right from the streak line of blood that had trickled down onto her dress up to her jaw, making absolutely sure that there was not even a drop left.

He stared at Avelina with his deep crimson eyes, taking a deep breath to calm himself down. His attention moved to her lips, and he frowned.

It was...healed? Her wound, he was sure that it was right there before he sucked off her blood, but why has it disappeared as though she never injured herself from the beginning?

Draven was heavily bemused. Did he hallucinate or sothing? No, that was impossible! He could still feel the taste of her blood on his tongue.

He took a soft breath and tightened his grip around Avelina, embracing her.

"I’m sorry," he apologized while slowly resting his face on her neck. It has already been three nights now, leaving only four nights left. If only ti could run fast, he would want this to be over as soon as possible.

"Avelina..." he whispered her na in the most gentle tone ever.

He exhaled and abruptly lifted his head the second he felt a warm liquid drop onto his bare back. He frowned and pulled away to look at Avelina’s face.

She was...crying.

"Avelina!" Draven dilated his pupils and quickly began to wipe away her tears with his palm. What exactly was happening in her nightmare? Was she no longer able to endure the pain? Is that why she was crying?

He cannot explain it, but there was this awful feeling he was sensing in his heart each ti he watched that drop of tears slip from her eyes. He felt like his chest was being pierced with a sharp knife, leaving him in a bit of pain which was sothing he rarely ever felt.

"Avelina, please stop crying. I don’t like it," he pleaded even though he was aware that she could not hear him.

He tucked the few strands of her hair behind her ears and cupped her cheek in his palm.

Should I kiss her forehead? Will she feel alright? Will she stop crying? Draven was pondering.

Avelina once did it to him, and it did make him feel alright. Maybe, just maybe, he could give it a try.

He took a deep breath and tenderly placed a soft kiss on her forehead. He pulled back and looked at her face, but Avelina was still crying.

It didn’t work? He deeply frowned.

Again, he kissed her forehead and kept doing it over and over again. Only when he stopped hearing her soft sobs and sniffing did he stop. He glanced at her face to see that no tears were falling from her closed eyes anymore.

"Avelina..." He caressed her hair and gently hugged her. "Stay with ...please. My heart...it hurts."

Santino, who was standing guard outside the door, could only lower his head, saddened.

The one ti his young master was able to unexpectedly find soone who genuinely made him happy, she, unfortunately, fell into such a condition.

A soft breath fled his nose, and he straightened up, resting his gloved hands behind his back.

——

Early the next morning.

The royal mansion was as quiet as it could be. This was because everyone was asleep, except one person, Natasha!

Instead of letting her maids dress her up, she had actually clothed herself. It was unusual, which would leave anyone wondering why. Where was she going off to?

With a hearty smile on her face, Natasha left her room. She proceeded out of the mansion and walked to the car. Her chauffeur started the engine and drove off onto the road.

From the shadows, none other than Valentine stepped out, with Adam following beside him.

"Where is she going, young master?" Adam asked.

Valentine vehently narrowed his eyes and smirked. "We’ll have to find out. Start the car." He got into the passenger seat.

Adam drove off into the road and carefully began to follow Natasha’s car from a bit of a distance.

For Natasha to be sneaking out like that, sothing must be going on. This, Valentine was sure of. His instincts were screaming at him that she most definitely had sothing to do with Avelina’s condition.

Twenty minutes passed, and Adam ca to a halt as soon as he saw Natasha’s car take a turn and stop in the middle of an area surrounded by gnarled, dark trees.

"Young master...what is this place?" Adam’s face was contorted in confusion, having never heard or even known that such a place existed in their town.

Valentine shrugged.

"A witch’s house, obviously. Let’s go."

"Wait, what? I-in there?!" Adam’s pointing finger was trembling.

Valentine glanced at him with an arched brow. "Of Course! Stop being a chicken and get down from there. No one will hurt you, so relax."

He stuffed his hands into his pocket and began to follow Natasha.

Adam moved beside him, grabbing his arm every now and then when he noticed a sudden change in the atmosphere.

"Witches are so much more spookier than we can ever be," he comnted in a quivering tone.

Valentine nodded, agreeing with him.

...

Ceicei raised her brow at the sight of Natasha, who had stord into her house.

"What are you doing here?"

Natasha slamd the door shut. "Are you even sure you know what you are doing?" Her shoulders were rising and falling in vexation.

"aning?" Ceicei deeply frowned.

Natasha took a deep breath to calm herself down. "You told

she would be dead by now, no? You said she would not be able to endure the pain and die, so tell

why—"

"My lady, you seem to have bad ears. Have you perhaps gone for a checkup or sothing?" Ceicei interrupted her.

Natasha’s expression fell. "What do you an by that?"
