Chapter 130: Sick?

Draven brushed his fingers against her hair and tucked the strands that fell over her face behind her ear.

In that position, he sat with her in his arms throughout the night. He was unmoving, and despite the fact that his arms and fingers were sore, he still held her while caressing her hair nonstop. He figured that it cald her down, so he wasn’t going to stop. To him, it was the least he could do for her.

"Young master." Santino’s voice sounded as a knock ca at the door.

Draven’s weary eyes glanced at the bright window and looked at the early morning blue sky. He allowed Santino in.

Santino opened the door and stepped inside. He walked over and took a bow.

"What...is the ti?" Draven asked.

Santino replied, "It’s currently six thirty am, young master."

"I see." Draven let out a soft breath. "Please get the maids. I need them to take care—"

Avelina’s soft moan abruptly sounded, followed by a yawn. She fluttered her large hazel eyes open and raised her pupils, only for her gaze to et Draven’s own.

They stared at each other without blinking or averting their gaze.

"Draven..." Avelina spoke his na. Her voice sounded a bit perplexed, and her face still looked as pale as it did last night.

Draven flickered his eyes. He tucked her hair behind her ear before instinctively wrapping his arms around her, tightly hugging her. Avelina, who was locked in his embrace, appeared very confused.

She was batting her lashes, unable to comprehend what was going on. She has never seen Draven like this, at least not with such a relieved look on his face.

"I’m sorry..." Draven whispered to her. "Are you okay?"

Avelina did not understand why he was apologizing to her, but she still responded, saying, "I am not sure if I am. I had a terrible nightmare, Draven. It felt so real, and I really thought I was going to die."

Draven exhaled softly and looked at her face. He dismissed Santino and gently cupped Avelina’s cheek with his free hand.

"Avelina...it’s not a nightmare like you think."

"Huh? What do you an? I don’t understand." Avelina shook her head at him.

Draven stayed quiet for a few seconds. He was pondering how to explain it to her. He took a deep breath and asked, "Do you rember when I told you that Natasha was going to make a move, a big one, but I was not exactly sure what it was?"

Avelina tried to recall and nodded her head. "Mhm, I do."

Then she queried, "Is sothing wrong?"

Draven took a mont before proceeding to elucidate it to her.

"Avelina, there is sothing that witches call "la mort dans le somil."

"La mort dans le somil? What is that?" Avelina inquired. She was yet to grasp an understanding of his words.

Draven let out a soft whiff. "It ans death in sleep."

"Okay... What does that have to do with—"

"It is a brutal thod that the witches use to kill. They would use your fear to torture you in your sleep, and if you’re not able to face it in seven nights, you will... die," Draven clarified, interrupting her.

Avelina’s mouth was slightly agape in shock. She was staring at Draven, as though she had yet to comprehend what he had just said to her.

"Are you saying that...I am—"

"Yes. Natasha t with a witch, and she must have told her to use that thod to kill you," Draven said before she could complete her sentence.

"WHAT!!" Avelina exclaid. "W-why? Why would she do that?" She was starting to panic. She was finding it hard to believe that those nightmares weren’t just nightmares.

"Avelina, calm down. I will explain—"

"Young master, the maids have co." Santino suddenly spoke, causing silence to prevail.

Draven glanced at the door. He looked at Avelina and sat her down on the bed before permitting them to co in.

The door was pushed open, and Camilla and Thalia stepped inside.

"Bonjour, your highness," they said before glancing at Avelina. "Bonjour, my lady."

Draven gazed at them. "Take care of her." He got up from the bed and left to take a bath in the hot spring.

While they were filling up the bathtub, Avelina, who was still seated on the bed, furiously blinked her eyes.

What was going on? What exactly was Draven saying? She buried her face in her palms, feeling quite exhausted.

She would normally wake up energetic every morning, so why was this morning off? She had never felt such tiredness before.

"Let’s go, my lady." Camilla smiled at her in a soft manner.

Avelina nodded and climbed down from the bed. She stood up and followed them, but as though she had no strength left in her body, she dropped to the floor, face flat.

A shocked gasp fled from both Thalia and Camilla, and they rushed toward her to help her up.

"Oh my goodness! My lady, are you okay?" They were panicking.

Avelina nodded her head. She was not just weak, but she was feeling dizzy as well. With their aid, she stood to her feet.

They led her into the bathroom and set up the bathtub. With Camilla holding onto her hand, Avelina slipped off her dress and slid into the bathtub.

She sat down and took a deep breath as the water touched her body.

"How do you feel now, my lady?" Thalia inquired, a bit concerned.

Avelina glanced at her. "Why do you ask?"

Camilla and Thaila looked at each other, quite confused.

"Well...you have been sick for two days now. We were not able to see you, but the young master did say you were ill," Camilla explained.

"Sick?" Avelina frantically blinked her eyes.

That was not possible. She never felt sick—she doesn’t even rember being sick. Co to think of it, what do they an by two days? The last thing she rembered was suddenly feeling dizzy at the bathroom sink. She recalled falling, but not what happened after that.

If she had been sick for two days now, then why can’t she rember what had happened in those two days? Or was it today that she fell? No, no, that is not possible. She woke up in Draven’s arms.
