Glancing sideways at Theodora as she proudly showed Qiong Xing the hair ornant she had just bought, Scion exchanged looks with the others and stepped outside.

They had not said anything to Theodora, but knowing her, she had probably already figured out what they were about to do.

More than that, she was deliberately keeping Qiong Xing distracted for their sake.

"Hey, you people over there. Why don’t you co have a little chat with us?"

"Huh? Who the hell are you?"

The mont their eyes t, Scion understood.

These guys were beneath them.

Maybe they had only recently beco Rank A adventurers or perhaps they had used so trick to obtain the rank.

He suspected the latter, but anyone who thought that would fool everyone forever was simply an idiot.

"That doesn’t matter. More importantly, what are you doing hanging around a place like this? There isn’t anyone inside who’s friends with the likes of you. So who exactly are you waiting for?"

"None of your business. Besides, they’re just not our friends yet. Once they co out, we’ll get along just fine."

As expected, their suspicions had been correct.

They had not known whether the target was the Guild Master and the others or Qiong Xing, but judging by that answer, it was clearly Qiong Xing.

Scion had no idea what these n considered "getting along," but he had no intention of letting people like them get any closer to that boy.

In fact, he did not even want Qiong Xing to have to see them.

"My, my, what a funny joke. Even if you got down on your knees and begged, a child like him would never give you the ti of day. Besides, his older sister would never allow it."

"No, since when did you beco his sister? And even if that were possible, you’d be his older brother since you’re a ma..."

"Ouch!"

"Be quiet, mutt. You’re one to talk when you’ve already been completely won over with food."

Every ti Gideon saw Qiong Xing, he asked if there was anything to eat.

And because Qiong Xing was too kind to refuse, he always handed sothing over whenever asked.

At this point, Qiong Xing was practically Gideon’s owner.

Rubbing the spot where he had been smacked, Gideon did not even try to argue back.

He was probably aware of it himself and had no intention of changing.

Not that Scion or Theodora could complain.

They took advantage of it every chance they got as well.

"Well, Qiong Xing’s cooking really is good. He gave us a ton of food today too. Sotis I forget which one of us is actually older."

Scion nodded in agreent.

He was not the type to openly say it himself, but whenever Qiong Xing invited him to eat, he always joined in, which showed just how much he enjoyed it.

In fact, it was more accurate to say that Qiong Xing was the one who always noticed and invited him because he was too reserved to ask for himself.

"That’s right. He’s always helping us, after all. Tis like this are exactly when we should help him as the older ones."

Qiong Xing would probably manage sohow on his own if it ca down to it.

But with Danan and the others here, there was no reason for him to dirty his own hands.

"Now then, you lot. Let’s settle this before that child cos out, shall we? If you promise to leave right now and never show your faces in front of him again, we’ll let you go. But if you can’t make that promise, then we’ll be your opponents..."

Seeing the n staring down at them with vulgar grins plastered across their faces, Danan imdiately understood they had no intention of leaving.

"Well, now. If your target had only been the Guild Master and the others, I might have let it slide. No... on second thought, that’s no good either. If anything happened to them, that child would be heartbroken."

Danan and the others were active adventurers themselves.

They knew how strong the Guild Master and Vice Guild Master were.

They also knew they were no match for them.

That was precisely why those people would be capable of handling things themselves if targeted.

Even so, Danan did not want to see the look on Qiong Xing’s face if he ever found out they had been hard.

"That child was soone who truly saw for who I am. So I won’t hand him over to the likes of you. As his older sister, I’ll protect him. Co on then! Bring it on!"

"...Your real personality is showing."

Whatever Gideon was muttering, Danan could not have cared less.

There was sothing he had once asked Qiong Xing.

Why he never asked questions.

Why he never comnted on the fact that Danan, despite being a man, dressed and spoke in a feminine manner.

Why he never said anything at all.

"If Danan likes being that way, then why would I need to say anything? Besides, I think it suits Danan very well."

That was right.

This was who Danan wanted to be.

Ever since he was young, he had admired won and wanted to be like them.

That was why he adopted a way of speaking and dressing that most n never would.

Danan had been insulted and ridiculed more tis than he could count.

Even his own parents had hurled cruel abuse at him, calling him a disgrace to the family before throwing him out.

Yet he had never stopped.

He could not abandon either his pride or his admiration.

Thanks to that stubbornness, he had eventually t his current companions.

Even so, they had been wary of him at first, thinking he was strange.

Qiong Xing, however, had been different.

The first ti they t, Qiong Xing had looked slightly puzzled, but he had never said anything negative.

He had simply treated him normally.

No one could understand how precious that was.

And hearing him say that it suited him had brought Danan nothing but happiness.
