Cliff?!

Shi Su suddenly stared at those two words and then looked at the newspaper containing the half-familiar figure. Sothing in her mind seed to almost instantly connect into a complete line.

Suddenly, while the nanny car was smoothly driving on the bridge across the river, sothing with imnse force collided with it fiercely, and the sharp sound of brakes and Chu Jiu’s scream pierced her ears: "Ah—"

In the next mont, Shi Su raised her eyes but hadn’t seen what was happening outside the car. Both the car body and her body seed to lose weight as they fell downward from the side of the river bridge, where the railing was suddenly destroyed!

The nanny car swiftly plunged into the turbulent river water—

The white Land Rover sped by and drove into the old residential area.

The car stopped at the unit entrance, Shi Su raised her hand to touch the huge cervical immobilizer on her neck, her movents were stiff as she reached to push open the car door and get out.

Sitting in the driver’s seat, Jun looked at her with a worried expression: "Are you sure you don’t need to help you upstairs?"

"No need, you go to the hospital to check on Chu Jiu first. At the ti, in the car, she was always using her body to shield ; otherwise, I couldn’t have just such a simple injury as cervical dislocation." Shi Su waved her hand: "When you took out of the hospital, the doctor was still taking her X-rays. I don’t know how it turned out."

At the ti, the car fell straight into the river. Fortunately, they were lucky, a worker boat cleaning the river surface happened to pass by and rescued her, Chu Jiu, and the driver of the nanny car.

When the incident happened, Chu Jiu instinctively rushed over and pressed Shi Su onto the seat to protect her, but the pressure underwater and the gravity from the fall caused the car body to spin rapidly in the turbulent river water, Chu Jiu’s arm was hit severely inside the car, it’s unclear whether it was dislocated or fractured, the driver also had a significant head injury, Shi Su had cervical dislocation, but fortunately, they all survived.

After being urgently sent to the hospital, Shi Su borrowed a phone from the nurse to call Jun.

Though cervical dislocation isn’t considered a severe injury, even a slight movent would cause Shi Su pain that made her grimace, so she dared not move at all.

The doctor put a large cervical immobilizer on her neck, making any movent inconvenient, instructing her to always wear it, only taking it off if it was too uncomfortable when sleeping at night, but the pillow must keep her head and the back of her neck even. The requirents were quite strict. In short, she had to wear this huge device, and considering her injuries, the doctor said the immobilizer should be worn for at least a week.

During this week, Shi Su had no choice but to take sick leave from the film crew. With her condition, not to ntion filming action scenes on wires, she couldn’t even stand behind the lead actress as a background extra; her neck hurt with the slightest movent.

Shi Su slowly went upstairs, the height of five floors, which she usually climbed swiftly, taking just a few minutes. Today, she took a full half hour, finally crawling like a turtle to her front door.

When the car fell into the water and they were rescued, her ID and keys were thankfully intact, but her phone got waterlogged and couldn’t be turned on for quite a while.

She stood before the door, struggling to fumble in her clothes pocket for a long ti, unable to lower her head, unable to see the exact position of the pocket, even raising an arm or shoulder would tug her neck, leaving her standing at the door, wishing she could turn into a statue, petrified just like that.

Probably her obvious noise while rummaging outside was too noticeable; before she could find the key, the door suddenly opened from the inside out.

Jing Jihan opened the door, the sight being Shi Su with a huge cervical immobilizer around her neck, looking shocked as she stood at the door.

Her hand remained in the posture of rummaging through her pocket, her mouth agape due to the surprise of the door being open, making her expression look oddly peculiar given the thing around her neck.

"Ah, I forgot you were at ho. I should have known to knock." Having just narrowly escaped from death, Shi Su’s brain was still in a shutdown state, speaking without any coherent logic, standing stiffly in front of him: "Well, could you please move aside, let in first."

Jing Jihan’s calm, dark eyes looked at her: "How did this happen?"

Shi Su swallowed, unable to explain, she just stepped forward but was stuck in the awkward posture at the door, feeling asking him to move wasn’t a solution. She simply beckoned to him: "Hey, hey, don’t go, help, help in, I’m paralyzed, my waist is numb, my whole body is numb! Can’t move!"

After saying that, she stiffly put down her arm, feeling that just moving her arm slightly earlier made her neck ache as if it was about to break.

Seeing her in such pain, Jing Jihan’s refined brow furrowed slightly, reaching out to help her inside.

"Slow down, slow down, yes, slow down... I need to turn around, I have to take off my shoes first..." Shi Su said as she walked, the shoes were rather easy to take off, but finding the indoor slippers was troubleso. Before she could say anything, the tall man in front of her had already grabbed the indoor slippers from the shoe cabinet and placed them at her feet.

She turned her stiff eyes away, raising a hand to hold the thing on her neck while she awkwardly slid her feet into the slippers, then suddenly stared at Jing Jihan. She thought about it, didn’t say anything, turned to walk toward the sofa, but her movents were still slow and stiff. His hand lifted again and held her wrist, guiding her to the sofa.

When Shi Su finally managed to sit down painstakingly, she exhaled a long breath after enduring so much difficulty, finally on the sofa at ho. She instinctively pressed the power button on the phone beside her, tossing it aside, not knowing if it would turn on.

She habitually wanted to lean back but this action caused the cervical immobilizer to strike the back of the sofa, instantly making her "ow" in pain and sit upright imdiately, her face turning pale from the sharp pain.

Jing Jihan’s dark, calm eyes looked at her. Shi Su was wearing a set of clothes Jun had temporarily brought her to the hospital, a short-sleeved cotton won’s T-shirt and sporty shorts, making the bruises on her arms and legs plainly visible.

Feeling his gaze examining the not particularly serious external bruises on her body, Shi Su hissed in pain for a mont and then slowly turned her head towards him.

After glancing at him, their gazes directly t, she quickly turned her eyes away, thought for a mont, then looked back at him again, finding he was still looking at her, hurriedly averting her eyes once more.

This happened repeatedly; she simply turned her eyes back to him, staring directly at his face, thinking for a second, glancing at him twice.

After a brief silence, Jing Jihan ignored her neurotic stares at him during the mont of back-and-forth. He spoke in a deep voice: "Where did the injuries co from?"
