After leaving the highway rest area, the bus hit the road again. It was already night, and everyone’s energy was nearly depleted. The interior of the bus was quiet, with only the occasional snoring from a few male guests, including Mr. He.
It was only after the bus entered the ring road highway of G City that there was so activity, as everyone tried to stay awake.
A male guest at the back stretched lazily while opening the curtain on the bus window to look outside, only to see the streetlights and the pitch-black night.
"This really is the city with the most water bodies in the country. We haven’t even reached the Coastal Area or rmaid Immortal Island yet, but both sides of the road are filled with lakes. Building the highway must have been quite an effort," Hao Jin said, glancing out the window.
Upon hearing his voice, everyone turned to look outside.
"We’re almost there, right? Better get energized, because we won’t be able to sleep once we’re on the island," Luo Fang said, thumping his own sore shoulder and then giving his wife’s shoulder a squeeze.
Xv Qingqing swatted his hand away and took so cooling ointnt out from her bag, applying it on her forehead to keep herself awake.
"Where did you get the cooling ointnt?" Fang Lihua turned around from the front and looked towards Xv Qingqing, attracted by the sll.
Xv Qingqing held up a small red box in her hand: "I bought it at a small supermarket in L City, to prevent motion sickness or too much drowsiness. Aunt Lihua, do you want so?"
"Sure, I’ll put a little on my temples too," said Fang Lihua, getting up to go over.
Xv Qingqing quickly stood up to bring it over.
"This cooling ointnt can also stop itching, right? How many did you buy? When we’re on the island and get bitten by mosquitoes at night, we’ll rely on this to stop the itching," Luo Fang said as he rummaged through the travel bag and saw two or three more.
"There are two or three more, anyone who needs it can use it," Xv Qingqing said, casting a special glance at Shi Su as she walked to the back of the bus.
Shi Su hadn’t spoken much during the journey, and she was still worried that Shi Su might get carsick and nauseous, given her previous symptoms.
Shi Su was half-asleep and half-awake, resting on Jing Jihan’s shoulder, not opening her eyes, unaware of Xv Qingqing’s concerned gaze.
Jing Jihan glanced back at her, his eyes calm and reassuring, indicating there was no need to worry.
Xv Qingqing nodded and returned to the back.
An hour later, the bus stopped by the dock for rmaid Immortal Island, and the guests needed to take a speedboat to reach the destination in ten minutes.
Once everyone was wearing life jackets and on the island, they saw that the legendary rmaid Immortal Island was shrouded in darkness, with only a few lights from the show’s production team for filming. There was no other illumination.
Ami yawned and glanced at her phone.
It was 1:30 in the morning.
"Wow, this really is a survival on a deserted island, huh?" Lin Xu looked back at the production crew.
The crew, expressionless, held their caras at the guests, without responding. Mr. He was talking to the producer, and since everyone had just arrived, they needed so simple preparations before starting the formal recording of the second episode.
The live broadcast was currently turned off, so all the guests were considered to be in resting mode in front of the caras.
"Did the director say everyone has to stay in a cave tonight?" ng Li asked, catching up to Shi Su with her backpack.
"From what they said earlier, that seems to be the case. It just rained here, and there’s no place to put things on the beach, let alone rest. Let’s first find where the cave is and then find so clean places to put down our luggage," Shi Su also looked ahead.
