The doctor said Jing Jihan’s wound is deep, but the surface is not large. With the advanced stitching techniques here in Hong Kong and by applying dicine and paying attention to diet in the future, the scar will almost not be left.

The reason for the deep wound is because of the tal hook on the chandelier that fell down.

Their survival is due to her position at the ti, which was not directly under the center of the lamp.

Shi Su’s foot has already been bandaged. She just stepped on so fragnts, and after disinfecting and applying dicine, it was wrapped with dical gauze. The doctor gave her a pair of hospital sterilized slippers for convenience when changing dicine, and reminded her to avoid walking and rest her foot for a few days.

But under current circumstances, Shi Su couldn’t really lie down and rest in the clinic or ward.

Upon exiting, she heard crying and wailing in the hallway of the ergency room on the first floor, where she just stood.

"Oh, it’s too tragic. Those who were just pushed in have basically no hope—they were directly hit by the chandelier from above, from the height of the third floor. And the height of each floor of that hotel is really high—tsk tsk..."

"I heard there was also an old lady who just turned a hundred years today below?"

"Yes, there were two grandsons too. The old lady died on the spot, and the two children are still in ergency care. The children’s parents have been crying for half the day..."

"And two others were imdiately killed too. They seed to be there to congratulate the old lady on her birthday. Who would have thought that after saying so auspicious words, they’d be gone in an instant."

"That tal hook was both long and sharp, pierced alive and dead—really tragic..."

After hearing the whispers between nurses and the cleaning lady in the corridor, Shi Su waited for them to finish chatting before asking about where the first ergency patient was sent.

The nurse noticed the gauze on her foot and listened to her asking about the patient’s room, rembering that she seed to have stood at the ergency room door for a long ti. She realized who she was and directly asked her, "Are you one of the injured from the Zijin Flower Hotel? You and your boyfriend are truly lucky, although you didn’t completely avoid being hit, you at least avoided fatal injuries."

Shi Su glanced at the nurse, didn’t say anything, nor explained about the boyfriend matter, just politely nodded.

She couldn’t imagine if she had been directly under there and hit, whether she would have been pierced through the brain by the tal hook like the others, dying instantly.

She didn’t know where exactly Jing Jihan stood at that ti, and didn’t pay attention, just went downstairs to accompany the film crew to congratulate the old lady—it was just a word of wishing longevity. Who could have thought a mont later there’d be blood everywhere.

She almost couldn’t recall what happened at that crucial mont, only rembering a strong force that pushed her away from the extrely dangerous position under the chandelier.

Police were investigating the incident at the Zijin Flower Hotel in the hospital. Judging by the expressions of those officers, it’s guessed they already realized it was another dispute among local wealthy families, proceeding with routine investigation and evidence collection, indifferent to the cries around them.

...

The ward was located on the sixth floor of Block C in the hospital. With gauze-covered feet and wearing slippers, Shi Su was assisted by a nurse to walk over to the inpatient departnt.

Upon reaching the door of Jing Jihan’s ward, Shi Su said thank you, to which the nurse replied, "No problem. Are you a family mber of the patient? After you co out, rember to complete the patient’s information and procedures. Since the incident happened suddenly today, everyone brought by ambulance to the hospital was treated first; currently, we don’t even know the gentleman’s na, and identity information needs to be completed."

Shi Su pushed open the ward door and looked inside. Since the dical staff didn’t know who he was, it was an ordinary room, but fortunately a single room, very quiet and clean. Jing Jihan was still asleep due to the anesthesia.

"I’ll go with you to complete the procedures now," Shi Su said softly as she closed the door.

"But miss, your foot..."

"It’s okay, it’s just a minor injury. I can walk slowly."

Despite saying so, the nurse still helped her with the procedures until all of Jing Jihan’s hospitalization docunts were completed. The nurse then quietly asked her, "Although Hong Kong sees many celebrities, your companion is from the mainland, right?"

Shi Su nodded, maintaining rare patience for this kindly nurse.

On the way back to the inpatient departnt, the nurse whispered again, "Your boyfriend was injured by the heavy impact, plus lost too much blood, but the injuries aren’t very serious. Once he wakes up and heals well, there shouldn’t be any major issues. We heard about the situation at that hotel then; your boyfriend was protecting you. To have soone so desperately in love with you, really is happiness!"

Shi Su: "..."

People in Hong Kong, although able to recognize her, clearly weren’t familiar with her background’s gossip, even unaware of her "married" status.

Shi Su’s lips moved, saying, "Not a boyfriend..."

But thinking about it, explaining wasn’t necessary.

The nurse seed sowhat puzzled by her half-uttered explanation but didn’t ask further, only saying, "When your boyfriend recovers and is discharged, if it’s convenient for you, could you send an autograph?"

Shi Su neither nodded nor shook her head—this matter would at least wait until Miss Chen and others co to the hospital. She currently didn’t have even an autograph photo herself, let alone personal identification or a mobile phone.

Thanking the nurse after being helped into the ward, she closed the door imdiately.

The hospital was saturated with the sll of disinfectant, from corridor to ward. Shi Su walked to the bedside, took a chair beside it to sit down, watching the still-sleeping man. She glanced at his face, pale and bloodless due to excessive blood loss; for a mont, ti seed to rewind to two years ago when the man lay injured in her ho, as she stared bewildered at the pale, unconscious man.

She watched for a while, confirming Jing Jihan was indeed asleep and hadn’t awakened, before moving again to pour so water. Returning, she opened the nightstand drawer, found disposable sterilized cotton swabs, dipped them in water, and gently wiped his pale, bloodless, yet slightly chapped lips.

Carefully wiping, she saw from the angle and stance leaning at the bedside, that there was still a bit of blood marking his neck.

Although ergency room staff cleaned him, during ergency actions, most efforts focused on the wound area, leaving any blood in other places possibly not thoroughly cleaned.

Shi Su straightforwardly opened the drawer’s package of disposable towels, fetched a basin of water after turning around, and carefully wiped his face and neck. After cleaning, she glanced at his collar, hesitated for a mont without unbuttoning, opting instead to wipe his hands directly.

While wiping his hands, she wavered on whether she should also clean his body.
