Shi Su changed back into her own clothes and removed her makeup, ready to find the director to discuss tomorrow’s script. Just as she arrived outside the tent used by the director for resting, she heard noises from inside. She peered through the seam at the edge of the tent.

Mr. Cai was also there.

No one knew when Cai Hong and Jing Luozhou established such a good relationship. Despite being twenty years older, Cai Hong was in there, shoulder to shoulder with Jing Luozhou, calling each other brothers and lighting each other’s cigarettes.

Jing Luozhou wasn’t fond of smoking. Having developed the habit at the dical academy, he seldom smoked before. However, in social gatherings, there’s always soone offering a cigarette. He casually took a few puffs before extinguishing it in the ashtray beside him: "Today, my brother went back to the Jing Family. Having nothing to do, I took his car out for a spin. I’ll have to return it soon, or else our family’s increasingly youthful elder will swing his cane, and I’ll be bedridden for a day."

"Jiang Jing Ru Hua invested so much money. Isn’t visiting the set part of your job as the company president? What could your old man be dissatisfied with?" Cai Hong laughed.

"He’s trying every way to find a wife for . The strategies he used on my brother didn’t work, so now he’s using them on . Any girl he fancies, he wants to et. I’ve almost gasped for air, so let’s not bring this up."

Jing Luozhou waved his hand, tucking one in his pocket, and suddenly glanced towards the tent’s entrance.

Though it was already evening, and almost dark, the lighting equipnt at the set was abundant, making it bright outside the tent. Shi Su stood in a visibly observable spot, not particularly hidden.

Seeing Shi Su, Jing Luozhou imdiately raised his eyebrow, with a hint of unclear aning in his eyes, but said nothing more, only chuckling before asking, "Shi Su, are you looking for Mr. Li? How long have you been standing outside?"

Simultaneously, he directed his words towards Shi Su: "We’re all old acquaintances, I’m not so wild beast. No need to hide outside without coming in."

Shi Su: "..."

Who is hiding?

She simply didn’t know what important matters they were discussing, not wanting to intrude.

She straightforwardly went inside, nodded towards Mr. Cai and Mr. Li, and said, "There’s an important scene tomorrow. I intended to review the key plot with Mr. Li before heading back. I didn’t expect guests, so I stayed out. Wasn’t disrupting you all, was I?"

"No, no." Mr. Li appreciated Shi Su’s acting skills and dedication to filming, smiling at her, "Co sit down, let’s talk."

As Shi Su was about to take the script over, Cai Hong suddenly asked, "You’ve removed your makeup? Why does your complexion still look so bad? This afternoon, when watching your shoot, your face was so pale I thought it was a makeup issue, are you sick?"

"It’s nothing, just caught a chill." Shi Su sniffled, unconcerned.

"It’s about thirty degrees today, caught a chill?" Jing Luozhou still stood with a hand tucked in his pocket, glancing at her.

Being in the sa circle, Shi Su had encountered Jing Luozhou a few tis in the past two years, but hardly ever spoke. Occasionally bumping into each other, she rely nodded at him. The occasionally profound mockery in Jing Luozhou’s eyes, she pretended not to see.

Today, they t again, and this Mr. Jing clearly had no intention of treating her as a stranger, his intent to nitpick was obvious.

Shi Su didn’t look at him, only addressed the other two: "I’m not feeling well. Today, maybe the ’punishnt’ scene was bound too tightly and worn the wet clothes all day, but it’s not a big issue, won’t affect tomorrow’s filming."

Shi Su spoke subtly, not intending to directly reveal the props team’s little tricks, to avoid being too fussy and affecting everyone’s work progress, but didn’t completely hide it either.

Jing Luozhou noticed the issue and remarked coolly, "Bound too tight? Where do you hire your props team from?"

Mr. Li suddenly realized: "Those scenes you fild this afternoon, your tremors were so realistic I suspected you’d been dunked in cold water; the props team didn’t actually prepare cold water, did they?"

Shi Su was silent for a few seconds before saying, "Probably, but a realistic shooting effect is good, it’s nothing serious."

Mr. Li exchanged a glance with Mr. Cai, aware of the situation. However, saying more directly wasn’t feasible, as several issues can’t be resolved rely by surface comnts. After all, the network of relationships in the crew — even a seemingly insignificant staff mber’s backing — wasn’t easy to discern. If discerned, it’s even more inappropriate to expose openly.

"Seeing your complexion, I hesitate to delve into the plot with you. We’ll discuss it when we’re on set tomorrow." Mr. Li said, "Did you drive here yourself today? The camper usually only transports on set, won’t take you ho, so when Mr. Jing heads back, he’ll pass through the city. Let Mr. Jing take you ho."

Shi Su: ?

Jing Luozhou: ?

Seeing their bewildered looks, Mr. Li was surprised, "You’re not acquainted?"

Years ago, Jing Luozhou used Jiang Jing Ru Hua’s official account to slyly criticize Yijia Entertainnt’s incompetence, even attempting to recruit Shi Su to his company. Although few in the circle discussed this, those familiar with Jing Luozhou’s style knew Mr. Jing and Shi Su were likely acquaintances.

"We’re acquainted, but there’s no need for his help. My assistant can drive my car and take ho." Shi Su stood with the script, feeling her visit seed a bit redundant.

Mr. Li and Mr. Cai didn’t speak imdiately, but looked at Jing Luozhou.

Jing Luozhou observed Shi Su’s pale complexion, noticing her discreetly placing a hand on the abdon while the script covered her. Without careful observation, her stomach discomfort was indiscernible.

He pressed his tongue against his cheek and raised a brow, "Why stare at ? The situation’s laid out here; wouldn’t it be ungentlemanly of not to offer a lift?"

Mr. Li and Mr. Cai exchanged silent looks, but clearly consented.

Shi Su’s lips twitched, "It’s really unnecessary."

Jing Luozhou made a "tch" sound, "Alright, let’s go, superstar."

Shi Su didn’t move.

Jing Luozhou was almost at the rest tent’s entrance drapes when he suddenly turned back to look at her, "Still need to invite you?"

Shi Su looked at him speechlessly once more. Seeing Jing Luozhou standing there looking back at her, evidently determined to confront her, she reluctantly bid Mr. Li and Mr. Cai farewell, rising to follow him out.

Upon reaching her camper and that new Bentley, Shi Su didn’t go over to him but headed straight to her camper.

She thought Jing Luozhou was probably uninterested in dealing with her, so they could part ways without exchanging pleasantries.

However, after tidying up in the camper and preparing to get off towards her vehicle, Chuyi suddenly tapped her shoulder, drawing her attention over there.
