Jing Jihan’s eyes were deeply black, and he lowered his head to calmly gaze at her. His shirt with a few buttons undone faintly revealed his collarbones.

A man’s collarbones can also look this attractive, even to the extent of... leaving one parched.

At this mont, Shi Su suddenly felt that Jing Jihan exuded a sense of allure.

"No more fever?"

"Mm, no more fever."

She had been here recuperating for two days already. If the fever persisted, it would an this flu virus was unusually severe.

Seeing that Shi Su’s spirit had indeed improved a lot, he held her waist with one hand, his voice low and clear as he said, "I’ve been so diligent in feeding you, yet you’ve still lost weight. What do you feel like eating?"

These past few days, Shi Su had been treated like a pig, though she didn’t eat much at each al due to discomfort and lack of appetite. Still, she had at least five or six als a day, and she still lost weight?

"I’m not hungry yet; no rush to eat."

Jing Jihan’s serene eyes watched her. Being held in this position made them almost intimately close. Suddenly, he let out a deep and brief chuckle, and with their bodies so close, she could distinctly feel the vibration in his chest as he laughed.

"I’m in a rush."

His words carried a double aning.

Just as Shi Su was about to be kissed, with his hand gently holding her chin, she suddenly pushed against his shoulder and said, "I had the worst of it when I was here with you, and you didn’t catch it? Are you that healthy, or were you faking with all your complaints of pain before ?"

Jing Jihan didn’t reply; he just silently gazed at her incessantly talking mouth, using his eyes to wordlessly reiterate the two words he had just spoken.

"..."

In her mory, Jing Jihan had always been self-controlled and ascetic, embodying a cool and serene deanor. Yet ever since returning from Z City, Shi Su sensed she was at a loss in dealing with his newfound assertiveness.

Finding her hands on his shoulder too obstructive, the man raised his hand and pulled them down, enveloping her completely in his embrace while kissing.

Shi Su couldn’t evade in ti, letting out a couple of muffled sounds as the man picked her up by the waist.

With her feet off the ground, Shi Su’s heart raced wildly, feeling flushed and hot. She wasn’t resisting but recalling the old saying that a flu virus is most contagious right before recovery. Was Jing Jihan intent on catching it with her?

He carried her toward the bedroom. Because of Shi Su’s inescapable low hum during the kiss, he abruptly pressed her down onto the sofa they had just passed by.

Seeing her sick for two days.

Seeing her dazedly sleep in his arms for two days.

Shi Su could distinctly feel his patience and indulgence during her worst sickness. To help reduce her fever, he held her, burning hot like a furnace, in his arms for two whole nights.

During which he took countless cold showers, vaguely rembering at least more than three tis.

She was pinned against the wide, soft sofa, initially wanting to shrink away from infecting him, gradually gave up resisting, and unconsciously her hands found their way to his shoulders, then to his neck, gripping his collar, trying to respond.

The man above her paused slightly, and what followed vividly demonstrated what losing control like a city under siege ans.

Just as Shi Su ca out of the bedroom, her phone, casually placed on the coffee table, suddenly rang. Instinctively, she wanted to pick it up.

Jing Jihan turned her face back to him with his kisses. Outside, the winter night was clear and bright with moonlight pouring in from the large floor-to-ceiling windows, yet her sight was entirely filled with the shadows cast by the man surrounding her, as if a small fireball had ignited the atmosphere.

Shi Su was kissed to the point where her thoughts were about to escape. As she tried to cling to him, her hand could only weakly and helplessly grab his shirt sleeve, with her entire being almost sinking into the sofa, all thoughts montarily forgotten.

Yet the phone kept ringing persistently, pausing briefly before sounding again, and this continued for several minutes.

Who could be calling? Why so urgent?

Could there be an ergency?

In her distant, jumbled thoughts, the ringtone repeatedly pulled her back. Out of necessity, she stretched out her hand to fumble aimlessly in the direction of the coffee table, but without finding the phone, she instead knocked over a cup, which fell to the carpet with a thud, not breaking, but splashing out a good amount of water, so of which spilled on her hand.

"Ah." Shi Su instinctively exclaid.

Jing Jihan abruptly let go of her, seeing the scene on the coffee table, he imdiately stood up and pulled her hand up, "Did you get burnt?"

"No, the water in the glass was boiled this afternoon, it’s cool now." Shi Su said as she hurried to pick up her phone, seeing an unfamiliar number displayed, but there had been three or four missed calls, so she quickly answered.

"Hello, is this Miss Shi Su?" A strange male voice.

"What is this about?" Shi Su, with a sense of caution, didn’t answer directly.

"Oh, it’s like this, I’m sorry for disturbing you with several calls. I’m the property manager of Kaixing Mansion. A Mr. Shi wants to see you; his car is parked downstairs, and his secretary is waiting here too." The person on the other end spoke very politely, "He specifically ntioned that his daughter lives here. According to our property records, it shows that Miss Shi Su has recently been living on the thirty-first floor of the Kaixing Mansion. Generally, if a stranger cos to visit without the owner’s permission, we shouldn’t take the liberty to disturb you. However, Mr. Shi’s secretary claims Mr. Shi is your father and is also the president of Shi Hong Group. While we do not make it a practice to let outsiders into the community easily, they were quite insistent that you et him, so we decided to call you, Miss Shi Su, to decide if we should let them in or if you would co down. Mr. Shi is in the car, and his secretary is here; would you like to hand the phone over to him so he can speak with you?"

Shi Lingkang?

The last ti Tong Yuanyuan managed to install a tracker in Jun’s car and followed them to this area, Shi Su knew that even if they couldn’t get into Kaixing Mansion, her residency here would no longer be a secret.

Her gaze drifted, seeing Jing Jihan picking up the fallen glass from the carpet and placing it back on the coffee table.

The room was quiet, and Shi Su hadn’t purposely turned down her phone’s volu, so he surely heard it.

"I’m sorry, but he’s not my father." Shi Su said coldly and indifferently to the phone, "If this person returns again, please have them escorted out directly."

"But..."

"In a place like Kaixing Mansion, should a situation arise where residents are harassed by outsiders, filing complaints against the property managent would be quite straightforward." Shi Su said coldly, "Your property company wouldn’t want to be easily sued, would it? Especially in such a premium location, where property fees are astronomical, there are no such favorable conditions elsewhere."
