"Jiang City TV news report, today a black Bentley on Wangxi Road was attacked by an unknown entity, the car fell off the edge of the cliff..."

"It is reported that the Bentley’s license plate is Jiang AXX88, which is the private car of Yu Jing Group’s president Jing Ji Han. Yu Jing Group has dispatched all their security personnel to search for the whereabouts of the vehicle and those inside. Currently, Mr. Jing’s life and death are unknown—"

"Mommy, why hasn’t this uncle woken up yet?" Four-year-old Shi Mianmian stood by the bed, her face full of curiosity.

"How would I know? You insisted on bringing this blood-covered man ho, who knows, maybe like that rabbit you rescued last ti, he won’t survive two days."

Shi Su brought over an electronic thermoter, placed it on the man’s forehead, then raised the thermoter and glanced at the little curious creature by her leg: "What’s the rush, do you even recognize numbers?"

Shi Mianmian protested, raising her head: "I’m four now! I can count to one hundred!"

Shi Su showed her the thermoter with an amused expression.

"Mommy, does it say 39 here in the front?"

"Thirty-nine degrees." Shi Su glanced again at the half-dead man on the bed: "Injured like this and with a persistent high fever refusing to go to the hospital, if sothing fatal happens, your mother will have to take you on a vacation to the police station."

"Mommy..." The little one started hugging Shi Su’s leg, speaking in a soft, gentle voice: "Please save him..."

"He’s a grown man, how can I save him? Ever since you were two and a half and brought ho that stray cat on the verge of death, you’ve been bringing little animals every few days. Now you’ve outdone yourself, insisting I bring back a man who’s almost dead! Do you realize we’re in for trouble?"

Shi Mianmian turned her head, crouched back by the bed, looked innocently at Shi Su, and placed her small hand on the injured man’s hand.

Just like she would bring back little animals to her room for fear of her mommy throwing them away.

Shi Su rubbed her forehead in frustration.

She only had herself to bla for not being clear-headed then, if she had been just a bit sober, she wouldn’t have brought ho soone with an unknown identity.

Two days ago, Mianmian’s kindergarten had a sumr camp event, and when Shi Su was preparing to pick up the child that evening, an unexpected situation occurred. She couldn’t help but drink a few glasses of alcohol and had a designated driver take her to the destination, arriving a bit later than the scheduled ti.

Because Mianmian waited too long, she suddenly said she needed to go to the bathroom. The sumr camp site was a wilderness at the bottom of a cliff without a restroom, so Shi Su had to take her to the nearby bushes.

There lay a man.

A man covered in blood, uncertain if he was dead or alive.

A few dozen ters away from him was a high cliff, with a mountain road above. Shi Su estimated that the man should have fallen and died, covered Mianmian’s eyes, and was about to leave the scene quickly.

Just as she turned to leave, her ankle was suddenly gripped by an icy, bloody hand, causing the hairs all over her body to stand on end as she stiffened in place.

"Don’t go." A low, weak, hoarse male voice sounded from below her.

To bla was the fact that she had drunk excessively at the ti, rendering her not clear-headed. Mianmian, probably used to rescuing small animals, didn’t grasp the situation due to her young age and instead of being frightened, begged her to save the man. In a mont of heat, she dragged him out of the bushes with all her strength...

The designated driver got out to smoke, and in the dark with the distance of the road, he didn’t notice an extra person in the car.

The next morning, when Shi Su woke up from the alcohol, she was so frightened by the sight of such a man on the verge of death in her ho that her soul nearly left her body—

She seed to have even cleaned the blood off the man and changed his clothes by utilizing that bit of drunken courage from the night. How did she even manage that?
