Just a Demon Lord
A few days after the Magic Festa.
“So, it looks like the punishnt of the Imperial Family will be taken care of, as well?” (Yuki)
Alveiro replied to my question, “Yes. They will be punished based on their cris. I think it is safe to say that most of the festering waste has been drained out of the country.”
“Well… after all that has happened, it’s finally over. I’m relieved that you’ve taken care of everything for , as well.” (Yuki)
“You’re speaking for yourself.” (Alveiro)
“I’m just an honest guy.” (Yuki)
Alveiro chuckled as he shrugged his shoulders.
Even with the Magic Festa over, the hectic pace of Alveiro’s life did not return to normal.
Well, although there was still so work for to do, I was now able to relax, but Alveiro on the other hand would be dealing with the clean-up and would have a busy schedule befitting an emperor.
At the opening performance of the Magic Festa, it was announced that Alveiro Verbaan would be the next emperor, but that didn’t an that he was going to be the emperor imdiately.
The paperwork for this had already been completed to so extent beforehand, but there were so many things that could not be done until after the event. We were currently taking care of those tasks.
Even looking at Alveiro like this, I could see the dark circles under his eyes. Hang in there.
Later, I offered him an advanced potion as a gift.
Calcade, the Imperial Castle Butler, said, “Your Majesty Yuki…excuse , Yuki-sama… You are no longer the emperor but still, we will obey your words. You have really helped us a lot. If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to rely on us.”
Calcade was the head of the Arbent, a secret spy organization, and a man who was protecting the current Rogard empire without being known to anyone.
Since Alveiro had beco the new emperor, Calcade would be working as Alveiro’s subordinate from now on. I have been requested not to reveal his identity to anyone either as he was basically like a super secret agent.
Even after all this ti, it was still quite rare for to have acquaintances who were secret agents or covert operatives. Another one I know was Renaugill, the Demon King’s right-hand man.
The next to speak was Helger Landros, Deputy Commander of the First Royal Guard and also a mber of the Arbent.
“Well, it will be a good opportunity to be able to communicate with Yuki-sama directly once this group is ford. I will no longer serve you as a retainer, but as a mber of the group, I will still obey the leader. If you have any orders, I am at your service.” (Helger)
Helger, too, had been relieved of his position as my subordinate and would now follow Alveiro, but his relationship with would continue to be the sa.
I replied, “Oh, thanks, guys. I’ll be counting on you then. On the other hand, if sothing gets out of hand over here, you can call . If it’s monster-related, I’ll probably be the first to notice, but if it’s only human-related problems, there’s a good chance I won’t notice it.”
–This gathering today was for the formation ceremony of a new order of knights.
A group that would only be allowed to use force if it were to protect this country, [the 0th Order of Knights].
At first, it was intended to be a provisional na, but since no other na was proposed and forming this group as an order of knights apparently offered many conveniences, it was accepted as it was.
I was the Commander.
The mbers of the Order were these three people present here. Alveiro, the 24th emperor; Calcade, the head of Arbent’s Secret Service; and Helger, the vice-commander of the 1st Royal Guard.
There was a possibility that the number of mbers would be increased in the future, but these four were the core mbers of the group.
Few people knew about the formation of this group, and the only other people who knew about it were the Demon King Finar and several high-ranking officials of the country. It sounds like a secret society, which was kind of exciting.
It appeared that there would be a little bit of an allowance paid to us, but I didn’t need it. However, I didn’t particularly object to it for their sake, since it seed to be offered to the other mbers of the group as well.
I guess the three of them were not in a position to be bothered with money either, but in the outside world, it wouldn’t be a problem to have it.
…Well, I guess I should have so of it, for now. Even though I could earn money quickly if I wanted to, it was better to have so money that I could use right away when I needed it.
I would be sending Illuna and the little girls to a school outside as well as my future children if I had more.
Although most things could be prepared in the dungeon, I would like to have at least the base currency of each country in case I need to give rewards to others, such as dical fees to Xena, the grandmother from the demon race who cos to our house occasionally to take care of Lefi and Lyuu’s health.
