The next thing Rir showed the wolf was how to distinguish between friend and foe.
In the dungeon, there was a cave called the “Cave of Beginning,” where a door leading to the grassland area was placed.
The area within a five-kiloter radius of this cave was the territory of Rir and his friends, so monsters inside this area could be considered allies.
If anyone was unable to make a judgnt, they would be able to quickly determine whether the opposite party was an enemy by exchanging words with them, ntioning their own na.
Be friends with your allies. Even if you belong to different species, do not fight with your allies because you would be spending ti together as one big group.
If there was a species with which you could not get along, do not approach each other. In such a case, Rir and the others would arbitrate the quarrel.
If you adhered to the above rules, this herd would accept you. This forest was a harsh environnt. And as such, to survive, they must help each other.
But as a wolf, it would have the instincts to live in a pack.
As Rir was explaining the rules one by one, Orochi and Seimi, two of Yuki’s pets, were curious about the situation and ca close to him and were making noise as if to ask, “Is this one a newcor, Rir-sama?”
While Orochi could express his intentions with his cries, Seimi neither speaks nor cries at all, so they could only understand her intentions by her hovering movents.
In addition, since they were monsters in the sa dungeon, they could understand each other’s intentions to so extent without having to put them into words, but this was not the case with the other monsters under Rir’s personal control.
Seimi was usually just drifting freely.
She had never shown any signs of anger, nor did she get involved with the subordinates more than she should have.
However, she was clearly a superior individual. Moreover, it was difficult to ascertain her intentions.
Everyone desperately tried to understand her intentions because they could not afford to offend her by doing sothing that would make her feel uncomfortable.
“Kuu.”
Rir nodded and made sounds as if to say, “Yes, it is a newcor, relatively similar to us. Although it is weak, it seems to have the determination to help master, so I think it will be able to do well at our place.”
Orochi and Seimi looked surprised at these words. Neither of them showed any change in facial expression, and Seimi’s only reaction was a light “Heeh”.
“Shooooooo!”
Orochi shrieked, as if to say “It’s quite intelligent, you say?” followed by Seimi moving around to say, “Then, it can certainly do well here”.
She might not be able to express her emotions through sound, but she was wiggling again while facing the wolf trying to imply her ssage to it.
–“Then, do a trick!” was what Seimi was trying to say. But the wolf simply couldn’t understand her intention.
Rir translated for Huge Claw Wolf, who was still staring at Seimi with a confused expression.
“…Gu…guru?”
Huge Claw Wolf, after freezing for a mont, started to break out in a cold sweat again.
It didn’t have any of what they were expecting out of it.
‘What was a trick, anyway? What did they want to do?’ was in its mind.
But it was a request from soone who was absolutely far superior to it.
After a lot of brainstorming, it could only guess that it had to do sothing interesting, so – it rounded its body, and then…
“Gruu.”
Furball, it said.
Silence.
The atmosphere froze.
Later, Seimi assessed.
–“Interesting!” She implied.
“Kuu.”
“Shooooooo!”
Huge Claw Wolf was relieved to hear Rir and Orochi imply, “Good for you, she said you are interesting,” and “You’re doing a great job, newcor”.
It had survived the hardship….
–Having a good sense of reason would only bring suffering…
