"You’re quite diligent, young man, coming this early..."
Oliver, who was enjoying his coffee, suddenly heard Evylin’s voice. He imdiately straightened his back and stood up quickly.
He saw the woman descending the stairs, wearing a dark blue pajama set.
Her hair was slightly ssy, though still in its usual style.
It seed she had just woken up.
Even so, she was already smoking, clearly enjoying every puff.
If she weren’t a Cultivator, she probably would’ve died young.
Oliver waited for her to approach before greeting her.
"Good morning, Master!" he said with a bright smile.
Evylin looked him over again, from head to toe.
"Seems like your life is full of good fortune," she said with a strange look.
"Mm... it does seem that way," Oliver replied sowhat awkwardly.
"Did you consu a Special Protein?" Evylin asked.
"Yes, I was quite lucky. Soone stole a goose egg that turned out to be a White Goose Boss Egg. It had already cracked, but the thief was being chased by the mother goose. He tried to use to fight the goose while he escaped. Of course, I didn’t let myself be used. I took the egg from him—even cut off his hand—so this morning the police ca looking for ."
Oliver imdiately recounted everything as he confird it.
"How did you get away from the police?" Evylin asked.
Just after asking that, she chuckled.
"No need to answer. You must’ve used my na," she said.
"Correct..." Oliver smiled sheepishly. "I said I wanted to contact my teacher. As soon as they heard it was you, they left."
Oliver had actually brought it up on purpose—he wanted to see her reaction to him using her na to resolve a legal matter.
Luckily, Evylin didn’t seem to mind, since she simply laughed.
"Any other stories you’ve got?" she asked again.
"I also got lucky and obtained a Tier 1 Spiritual Pill. I plan to use it to help my mother reach the First Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm. Her body is weak to the point she’s nearly crippled—she struggles to move—so this should help normalize her body. Master, is there anything else I need to do when helping her take the pill?"
"Spiritual Pills contain very pure Spiritual Energy, compatible with the body, so even ordinary people without scripture knowledge can absorb it quite easily. That said, there could still be issues—so bodies may not handle a sudden increase in power well. Usually, people take a slow approach, absorbing just 10 units of Spiritual Energy per day for ten days. But you seem to have started mastering Life Force—you can use that for your mother. Any side effects can be minimized, allowing the process to go smoothly in a single cultivation session." Evylin explained, addressing his concern.
Oliver nodded repeatedly as he listened, thankful for having a teacher who always answered his questions thoroughly.
"Follow ," Evylin said again.
She headed toward the back of the house where the dining table was located.
"I haven’t had breakfast yet. Give so of that fish from yesterday—I’ll cook it," she said upon arriving.
Oliver rolled his eyes at that.
He thought she was going to help him restore the snake scale sizes right away.
But since he hadn’t eaten either, he figured this wasn’t so bad.
Fortunately, there was still so fish left.
He hadn’t cut them all. About a third of each fish remained, including the heads.
Oliver brought them out, surprising Evylin.
Her gaze then turned sharp.
"Did you catch another one after I left?" she asked.
"Mm... yeah..." Oliver replied a bit nervously.
As an experienced angler, he knew how frustrating it could be when soone else caught a fish while you didn’t—even more so when it was in the exact sa spot.
Yesterday, Evylin had fished there for quite a while but didn’t catch anything. It wouldn’t be strange if she were annoyed.
"The kitchen’s behind that door. You can clean the fish there. I want them fried," Evylin said next.
At first, she said she’d cook the fish herself, but now it seed she wanted him to do it.
Oliver, already used to cooking, just smiled. He didn’t mind—it wasn’t hard for him.
He took the two fish to the kitchen, which was almost half the size of a regular house and fully equipped.
With such a kitchen, cooking was incredibly easy.
All kinds of spices and vegetables were readily available.
Oliver eventually cut up all the at from both fish and fried it all.
He placed everything on a large serving plate and brought it to the dining table where Evylin was already waiting.
She looked pleased with the result.
"Seems you’re pretty skilled at this," she said.
"I cook almost every day. Please eat, Master," Oliver responded politely.
"Get so iced water from the fridge," Evylin said next.
Oliver quickly fulfilled her request—after all, she was the one helping him today.
Of course, Evylin also invited him to eat breakfast with her and Lisa, whom she had just called over.
As soone descended from a royal bloodline, Evylin really had a unique way of eating—relaxed and elegant. Even the way she drank was sothing hard to imitate.
Still, she ate quite a lot—and Oliver, ever since becoming a Cultivator, had also started eating much more than usual.
His powerful physique apparently required large amounts of nutrition daily.
In the end, every bit of the fish Oliver had cooked was completely devoured.
Evylin looked very satisfied after the al and imdiately lit a brown cigar that looked extrely expensive.
"Oliver, place the scales here," she suddenly instructed, tapping the table in front of her.
Oliver quickly did as she asked.
He laid out all the snake scales he had collected.
Then, Evylin suddenly absorbed them into her Storage Ring—probably also an Observation Ring.
Oliver wasn’t sure how she would restore their original size.
"Wait about three hours—they’ll return to their original size," Evylin said.
"How did you do that, Master?" Oliver asked, curious.
"I forced my spiritual energy into the scales. It’s that simple, though it does require a special formation and can’t be done by soone with your current low cultivation level. Your energy isn’t strong or large enough to penetrate the scales," she explained, giving Oliver new knowledge.
"If you have anything else you want to ask, go ahead," she added.
Given such an opportunity, there was no way Oliver would let it go. He imdiately started asking her many questions—about cultivation and the Chaotic World, which he still barely understood.
