Chapter 33: Chapter 27 Can’t Chase Back

Looking at Wen Yangzhi’s indifferent deanor,

Jiang Jianqing pondered and decided to speak his mind, even though he clearly understood that Wen Yangzhi was a person with extrely clear boundaries, “If there’s even a slight bit of likability, you could try opening up your heart. You surely won’t be able to marry soone you don’t like at all, right?”

Others might not understand.

But Jiang Jianqing knew all too well.

Male NPD sufferers, when rejected by the opposite sex, are likely to fly into a rage and verbally abuse.

But it’s not the sa for female NPD sufferers; once they are rejected by the person they like, they will imdiately withdraw all their care and attention for that person.

She won’t say an extra word and, under certain circumstances, she might even make a complete and clean break with absolutely no possibility,

or at the very least, it’s almost impossible to reverse.

In complete silence, she would end the past and future with soone in the most decisive way.

To win her back, you would have to present your pride on a silver platter for her to trample upon.

At least, that’s the theory.

A precipitous breakup is still manageable. Complete estrangent is also normal. If you truly love her and want to win her back, unless she sees you shattered to pieces in love for her, abandoning everything for her, just to beg for that slight affection of hers, only then might she be slightly moved and condescend to grant you her favor.

This is NPD.

NPD is when she loves you, you can be deeply loved by her; when she doesn’t love you, she will completely treat you like air. It is neither loathing nor aversion, just indifference.

The most difficult to sway is the uninterested heart.

She simply doesn’t care about you and doesn’t want you; she doesn’t even hate you, so how could there be a chance to win her back?

Jiang Jianqing once had a girlfriend with NPD and no matter what he did, he could not win her back. She treated him as if he was air, even though he was once her unforgettable first love.

He lost all face, apologized non-stop on the electronic screens of taxis throughout the city, spent millions to beg her to return, bought the seaside villa she once longed for, and even gave her an island.

All to no avail.

This kind of personality,

is both the most passionate and the most ruthless.

This kind of girl is too charming and lets go too decisively.

No matter how much she once liked you, she won’t tolerate you.

But after all, Wen Yangzhi is different from him; Wen Yangzhi likes to act rather than talk.

Since Yun Yuwan could say to him, “I love you too,” it must be because Wen Yangzhi responded to her in his actions.

A response in actions is still a response.

At least from what he saw, Wen Yangzhi had never been so tolerant with anyone else.

On further reflection, it’s actually quite clear that Wen Yangzhi likes her, and even if it isn’t liking, it must be a level of fondness higher than ordinary.

Though he doesn’t know whether it’s because she is in the position of a younger sister, or because Wen Yangzhi is fond of her as a mber of the opposite sex.

Moreover, there’s the incident today—although it might not have developed into anything serious, their relationship is almost unquestionable.

Yun Yuwan’s condition doesn’t seem very severe, just a slight tendency toward NPD.

But that’s only based on the current encounters.

Wen Yangzhi’s jade-like long fingers pressed against the lid of the Sui White Cup, the white porcelain and his hand complenting each other like fine jade, as he poured the tea into the cup, “If you’re really that bored, find a ntal hospital to send you off to work.”

Jiang Jianqing imdiately refused, “No need, if I wanted to work, I would have studied business in the first place.”

Wen Yangzhi chuckled softly.

Yun Yuwan sat in the car, still feeling an indescribable sensation.

Her brother had given her purple Phalaenopsis orchids, so why was he so distant with her in front of others?

Did her brother not like her?

Or did he think showing his affection for her in front of others was embarrassing?

It shouldn’t be like this.

Her hand clutching the clothes couldn’t help but tighten slightly.

As dusk approached, the streets outside bustled with traffic, and she, holding Wen Yangzhi’s jacket, couldn’t stop spacing out.

An evening breeze blew through the car window, lifting her waterfall-like tresses, while the girl just sat there staring blankly. Suddenly, the driver braked, but still collided with the Barbossa SUV in front.

Yun Yuwan was jostled by the inertia, and the jacket in her arms fell onto the car’s carpet.

The vehicle in front stopped, and a young man dressed in a double rider motorcycle leather jacket got out of the rugged black Barbossa, slamd the car door, and strode toward Yun Yuwan’s car.

His hand, adorned with vintage stacked rings, knocked on the driver’s side window, and the driver hurriedly prepared to get out.

But Yun Yuwan lowered the backseat window and, leaning on it like a mushroom, said, “Talk to .”

The evening wind made her long hair flutter like a sprite, her round eyes harmless, her delicate and petite nose and lips endearing. She just looked at him, sowhat dazed, truly like a mushroom without a brain.

Her expression was so innocent, as if fearing nothing and oblivious to danger.

The man suddenly looked down and smiled, “What a coincidence.”

Yun Yuwan cocked her head, “Do I know you?”

“The French restaurant.” His crisp voice was brief and to the point.

Yun Yuwan suddenly recalled the last ti she dined with Lin Chu at the French restaurant, there was a man. She would go left, he would too, she moved right, he mirrored her movents, stubbornly repeating this for over a dozen rounds, probably trying to ask for her WeChat, which she had declined.

She realized in an epiphany, “It’s you.”

He removed his aviator sunglasses, revealing a pair of affectionate phoenix eyes, “Have a chat?”

She reacted defensively, “I won’t give you my WeChat!”

He found the girl amusing and coaxed patiently, “I don’t want your WeChat, I just want your money.”

He pointed at the rear of the Barbossa, an indent was on it.

She then realized that it was her driver who had hit soone else’s car.

She responded with an “Oh,” admitting defeat, “Let’s settle this privately. Send

your paynt code, and I’ll transfer the money to you.”

Her pretense of nonchalance was laughable.

He was quite patient, bending over to talk to her amiably with a soft smile, “Sister, that’s not how you compensate soone. I’m in a hurry today. Add

on WeChat, and I’ll let you know how much to pay after I’ve had it fixed at the 4S shop.”

She thought, as expected, he still wanted her WeChat.

But after glancing at his car’s rear end, then back at him, she knew she was in the wrong first.

Finally, she reluctantly took out her phone and let him scan her WeChat QR code.

She decided she’d delete him as soon as she settled the paynt.

Such a frivolous person she did not want in her phone contacts.

He scanned to reveal an account whose profile picture was a nose-picking Pig Man; her brow twitched slightly.

She noticed he wanted to laugh and imdiately said:

“Is that funny?”

“No wonder you’re so afraid of people adding you on WeChat,” he chuckled nonchalantly.

Yun Yuwan retorted at once, “That’s not why.”

“Ok,” he drawled, “how should I save your contact info?”

She puckered her lips, sowhat aggrieved, and told him her na, “Yun Yuwan.”

The young man suddenly looked up at her, eyebrows lifting slightly, “Yun what?”

She crossed her arms, confident and a bit petulant, “Yun Yuwan, clouds for ‘Yun,’ desire for ‘Yu’, and evening for ‘Wan’.”

The man with the phone slid his fingers across its case, his gaze lingering on her face for a mont.

He said with implication, “What a coincidence.”

Yun Yuwan really was fed up with these pick-up tactics, and challenged arrogantly, “Another coincidence? Your surna is Yun too?”

He smiled, “Not exactly, I’m surnad Jiang.”
