Chapter 213: Chapter 113: Gilding the Tower
Hong Sheng and Yuwan,
Hong Sheng and Yuwan.
Wen Wei’s heart surged with waves.
Recalling the scene just now, Wen Yangzhi holding Yun Yuwan, Yun Yuwan leaning against him, punching a fist to cover her cough. Wen Yangzhi just looked at Yun Yuwan like that, with no expression but an unfathomably deep gaze. Being a man himself, of course, he could tell what it ant.
That kind of love and invasive desire that seed ready to devour, watching her quietly yet resembling a shark lurking in the deep sea, waiting to swallow her in one gulp—Wen Wei had felt the sa in his youth.
So it turns out that Hong Sheng liked Yuwan.
Wen Wei carefully recalled every trace. Wen Yangzhi sotis said he wanted soone beautiful, sotis soone young who could be presentable and beco the mistress of the Wen Family; after all, he desired Yun Yuwan.
It was because he had always liked Yun Yuwan in his heart.
He had always thought that Wen Yangzhi hated Yuwan.
No wonder, back then, Hong Sheng let her enter Jing Building and supported her, saying that they should give her a trust fund as her dowry, with Hong Sheng insisting that it must not be given.
He really had aged, to think that was because he disliked Yuwan!
His son had been single for so many years, yet as soon as Yuwan returned, he declared he had a girlfriend. What a coincidence!
If not uncovered, he might have never understood the connections, but once uncovered, traces were everywhere.
Yuwan had been staying at Hong Sheng’s place for such a long ti, no wonder it was always Hong Sheng who personally brought her back. Considering how busy the bank matters were, Wen Wei knew better than anyone; there was no ti for such trivial tasks!
Wen Wei imdiately called the old mansion’s butler: “Uncle Deng, check the ho surveillance, mainly the highest floor targeting all corridors and rooms, and see the dynamics when Yuwan and Hong Sheng were both at ho.”
Uncle Deng thought that the sky had finally broken, so there was no need for him to keep it tight anymore.
In a mont, Uncle Deng sent over the video.
Wen Wei watched the surveillance screen,
In the deep night, Wen Yangzhi carried Yun Yuwan back to the room, not leaving once throughout the night, and until morning. Every ti Wen Yangzhi was at ho, Yun Yuwan never slept alone.
And in the spots they couldn’t see, Yuwan always followed him around, like a shadow.
Wen Wei initially thought that was all, but, in the end, the video showed Yun Yuwan going downstairs late at night looking for ice cream, Wen Yangzhi followed her down, she took a bite, and Wen Yangzhi suddenly bent down to kiss her. The two of them kissed openly in the living room, making Wen Wei almost lose his grip on his phone.
Even if caught once, actually, it could not be concealed, but he had never once stumbled upon them like this!
Whilst shocked, Wen Wei clearly understood that their relationship was not a misunderstanding; they were truly together.
He and Wanyi hadn’t beco a pair, yet his son was in love with Lou Wanyi’s daughter.
When Zhao Qin was going downstairs, Zhou Fei just happened to co up smiling, holding Zhao Qin’s evening bag, lightly tapping his forehead:
“Auntie, look how confused I am. Just now I placed it in the regular VIP room, but sohow rembered it as Wen’s resting room.”
Zhao Qin just took the bag without speaking.
Zhou Fei looked concerned: “Aunt Qin, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
Zhao Qin was distracted: “It’s nothing, you go on.”
Zhou Fei smiled lightly: “Alright.”
Zhao Qin, leaning on the railing, didn’t know how to face it; it was both ridiculous and sad.
Lou Wanyi’s daughter… and her son.
Yun Yuwan didn’t expect to be caught by Zhao Qin, unsure how to deal with it:
“What should I do?”
Wen Yangzhi spoke incongruently, simply opening with a calm, waveless tone:
“Since they know, I’ll move back tonight.”
“What does that an?” Yun Yuwan was a bit puzzled.
Wen Yangzhi extinguished a cigarette in the ashtray: “Let them co at .”
“What if Aunt doesn’t agree?” she worried.
He glanced at her: “She doesn’t need to agree.”
He was so calm it was as if nothing had happened, lightly patting her back:
“It’s okay, go downstairs first.”
Yun Yuwan hesitated at the door.
Wen Yangzhi walked up behind her: “What?”
Yun Yuwan turned to look at him, her gaze sowhat timid: “I’m a bit scared.”
Wen Yangzhi reached out, drawing her into his embrace, his sturdy and broad arms encircling her, curling her against his chest, gently patting her back: “It’s okay.”
His scent was like a vast and clear sea, carrying a cool dry tobacco fragrance intertwined with an enticing and warm woody aroma that enveloped her warmly.
She suddenly felt the stabilizing presence of an older man; with him, she was fearless because she knew he was reliable and strong. He knew how to handle everything she feared might bring the sky crashing down; he would stand with her on the sa battle line.
