Chapter 169: Chapter 94 When Love Matures
Yun Yuwan washed her face clean and ca out of the bathroom, walked into the room, and looked towards the terrace.
His back was turned to her, sitting in the rattan garden chair on the room’s terrace, extinguishing a cigarette, his long fingers pinching it out in the ashtray.
Outside the terrace, the broad-leaved trees split the light from the street lamps behind into many thin lines, passing through the neat gaps of the branches and leaves, dispersing into conical shapes made of nurous straight lines, like the fiery brilliance of diamond light, which, under the cara, would sparkle and scatter light rays at multiple angles.
The light fell softly onto Wen Yangzhi’s body, making the light on him appear sowhat gentle, his pajamas soft, the night breeze blowing his hair so light it seed it could fly, giving the impression of being very close.
The night was serene, the terrace light was not too bright, she took advantage of the hazy evening breeze and sat next to him, “What do you want to talk about?”
Wen Yangzhi glanced at her from the corner of his eye, even his skin tone was soft under the night light, slightly softening his sharp features, making him look tender and affectionate towards her rather than commanding authority as he spoke relaxedly:
“That depends on what you want to talk about.”
Yun Yuwan imdiately brightened up, eagerly asking, “What can we talk about?”
“What do you want to talk about?” Wen Yangzhi slightly raised the corner of his eyebrow at her, a push and pull between them, his arm resting on the chair’s armrest, his broad shoulders leaning against the backrest, curious to see what she would reveal.
Yun Yuwan’s hand was resting on the edge of the table, her body leaning slightly towards him, her eyes sparkling as she asked the question she most wanted to know the answer to:
“Then can you tell
why you like ?”
“There are many reasons.” Wen Yangzhi’s answer was sowhat evasive.
Yun Yuwan’s curiosity was piqued even more; her curiosity was hanging by a thread.
He held the handle, poured the tea from a white porcelain teapot, and said, “But I will only ntion one.”
Yun Yuwan kept asking, “So what is this reason?”
“Can’t help it.” Wen Yangzhi put down the teapot and gave an unexpected answer.
Yun Yuwan was surprised, “Huh?”
She didn’t understand what he ant, “What do you an by ‘can’t help it’?”
He placed the filled teacup in front of her, his tone was light as air, his straight narration as if he was removed from the situation, “For the first six years, I deliberately avoided you.”
Yun Yuwan didn’t understand what this had to do with being unable to help it, but hearing him talk about deliberately avoiding her, and thinking about the six years of her crazily growing longing and restraint, it hurt her heart.
Her eyes were clear as if torn fabric, letting in bright light that stung.
But she didn’t expect his next words to take the conversation to new heights: “Every ti I see you, it’s like this morning, I want to sleep with you, I want to kiss you.”
His low voice was sexy, his bluntness left one at a loss, his eyes were as deep as a pool, they flickered at first glance, but were as rich as a drenching rain ant only for a lover.
She didn’t know that he had such thoughts about her, she uttered a small “Eh?”
“Is it always like this with you?”
Wen Yangzhi’s tone was casual, “Whenever I see you, it’s always like this.”
Yun Yuwan couldn’t help but laugh softly.
Wen Yangzhi placed his phone on the table, his hand resting naturally on the armrest of the rattan chair.
But in those years, she kept her distance from him, cherishing the hard-won second ho she had found, not wanting to also lose her place in this ho.
Of course, he wouldn’t be so an, to pursue her for his selfish desires, she was still young, but he was already an adult, he should be able to distinguish right from wrong.
He spoke like a sage who could see clearly the desires and benefits, objectively assessing the situation from a third-person perspective: “So desires can’t be suppressed, if I couldn’t have you, then I just had to keep my distance from you.”
Yun Yuwan felt a stir in her heart, got up from the chair beside her, hooked his neck, straddled his lap, embraced him intimately, allowing him to continue speaking steadily.
Wen Yangzhi’s large hand supported the back of her neck, leaning back against the chair, his gaze ambiguous, his thumb rough as it brushed past the back of her ear, speaking lightly,
“How did you end up here?”
Truth be told, Yun Yuwan hadn’t expected Wen Yangzhi to feel this way about her, a warm current peculiarly coursed through her body:
“Because I think I kind of understand what you an.”
Wen Yangzhi was indifferent, “Understand what?”
She was smug as could be, “Wen Yangzhi wants to snuggle with .”
Wen Yangzhi was slightly surprised, found her use of such childlike language amusing and indulged it with a light laugh, “Yes, I want to snuggle with you.”
Yun Yuwan proudly lifted her chin.
Seeing her beco happy again, Wen Yangzhi stroked her face, her hair, as if petting a cute otter baby.
He brought up another matter seemingly casually, “There’s one more thing.”
“What is it?” she was curious.
Wen Yangzhi spoke plainly, “I have always regarded you as a woman.”
Yun Yuwan was already quite pleased with herself, but at his words, she froze.
