Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Embrace

Wen Garden Villa had a storage room specifically for all sorts of alcohol.

The first thing Yun Yuwan did after flying back to Shanghai from Belgium was to ask the butler to open the wine storage room; she wanted to grab a bottle of red wine to help her sleep.

However, tonight of all nights was ill-fated, the key was worn almost round, and she couldn’t open the vintage door.

The butler didn’t understand why she insisted on opening this door, as she hadn’t been fond of drinking in the past.

After almost letting everyone in the house know that a door was broken, Yun Yuwan had the servants call Wen Yangzhi’s secretary’s office to tell him to co ho to open the door.

Wen Yangzhi, who hadn’t visited the old house for several years, actually ca ho for such a trivial reason.

He, of course, managed to open the door,

by breaking it.

The house servants, while removing the dismantled vintage fir caged door, cleaned up the broken parts and sawdust on the floor.

Yun Yuwan looked up, her deer-like eyes bending as she watched him.

Wen Yangzhi had little patience, lifted his thin eyelids, his gaze shallowly covered with a thin layer of frost: “Such matters, don’t have soone call

in the future.”

It had been a long ti since they had seen each other.

It had been nearly three years, and the first thing he said was not to call him.

But having soone call him wasn’t for a bottle of red wine, it was only because of the love letter he had sent from miles away, she wanted an excuse to see him imdiately.

Pining for him for seven long years, she finally waited for a response.

Even though only her butler had read that love letter, she hadn’t had the chance before it was lost, she didn’t bother to look for it, and flew back to China overnight, a fifteen-hour flight, only to see him once.

She was afraid of missing the opportunity.

At this mont, she surmised he wasn’t disgusted, probably just too busy.

Clutching a bottle of Screaming Eagle, her eyes still brimming with laughter: “Okay.”

She stared at his handso, cool face, her red lips lightly parting: “Brother.”

Waves of light from the room’s lamps washed over his cold features repeatedly, night breezes layered outside the window.

He must have just finished work, removed his suit jacket, wearing a waistcoat and shirt, the black waistcoat hugging his lean waist into his trousers, pants enveloping his long legs, his sharp chin exceptionally aloof and cold, the richly dark eyes indifferent, a mature, experienced aura exuding, captivating enough for a young girl at first sight, a stark difference from when she had left.

The next morning, unusually, Wen Yangzhi stayed at ho for breakfast.

As Yun Yuwan ca downstairs, she saw a calm, tall figure sitting silently beneath a dark purple sandalwood screen.

She was sowhat surprised yet couldn’t help feeling secretly pleased.

He must have stayed because of her to have breakfast at ho.

She sat opposite Wen Yangzhi, and as expected, he said nothing; Wen Yangzhi always disliked having soone sit across from him.

But he continued watching the financial reports, silent.

After a long silence,

Yun Yuwan suddenly said: “It wasn’t forceful enough.”

Wen Yangzhi lifted his eyelids, his expression still pale.

He held the tablet displaying the financial reports, his prominent Adam’s apple gliding along his crisply lined neck: “What wasn’t forceful enough?”

Yun Yuwan’s clear eyes directly t his, boldly stating: “You weren’t forceful enough last night.”

Her face was as innocent as a callia, in stark contrast to her words.

Even Uncle Deng, the butler, was so amazed that he slightly bowed his head, unable to listen.

Wen Yangzhi, on the other hand, watched her leisurely, with a trace of disdain in his eyes: “Last night, you an?”

Yun Yuwan’s eyes flowed with laughter: “Yes, you didn’t use enough force with the key last night. If you had pushed harder, perhaps you could have broken through the door. I think it should have been forced open.”

Wen Yangzhi quietly watched her for a mont, making her feel sowhat at a loss.

Thinking that even though he liked her now, she shouldn’t be joking like this with him.

Wen Yangzhi wasn’t that kind of person.

Seven years ago, when Mr. Wen had introduced her in front of Wen Yangzhi, he had the sa expression.

Listening to Mr. Wen saying she was the daughter of an old friend, her parents had died unexpectedly, hence she was temporarily being taken care by the Wen family.

A sprawling maple spread above his head, shadows flickering on his ashen, handso face, his expression unreadable.

Wen Yangzhi didn’t need to frown to have a mountainous, oppressive aura.

No one knew whether he actually liked this suddenly appearing sister.

But back then, Yun Yuwan was very afraid of him, so scared that she wouldn’t go ho right after school, always waiting until she calculated he had already entered his room before going ho.

Seven years later, they sat at the sa table, yet she was saying such things to him, sothing the forr Yun Yuwan wouldn’t dare to imagine.

Yet he had sent a love letter to her from afar.
