The fierce battle never ceases.
Duanmu Huai, wielding a War Hamr, clashed repeatedly with Kane. The spear danced up and down, weaving through the gaps of sword shadows like a swimming dragon, aiming for Duanmu Huai’s body. Purely in terms of combat skills, Kane lived up to the na of War God. Its divine skill in spear techniques was dazzling to behold.
Duanmu Huai did not choose to clash head-on in terms of combat skills; on the contrary, he opted for a simpler and more direct approach.
Trading blows.
"Clang!!"
The spear pierced through the sword shadow, hitting the thick shoulder armor of Duanmu Huai, tearing a gash into it. The sharp spear tip dug in like the stinger of a venomous bee.
However, this was exactly the mont Duanmu Huai was waiting for.
He roared, his muscles tense, biting down tightly on the spear. At the sa ti, Duanmu Huai bore the pain and sprang forward, bringing down the War Hamr straight onto Kane’s head!
In the last mont, Kane chose to release the weapon, twist its body, and deliver a spinning kick to the Chainsaw Sword that Duanmu Huai was swinging down, deflecting it. But Duanmu Huai did not relent; he lowered his off-balance body, charging forward like a wild boar, crashing into Kane’s arms. Kane extended both hands to grip the spear impaled in Duanmu Huai’s shoulder, contracting its body while kicking both feet against Duanmu Huai’s chest, using the recoil to evade the near-fatal midsection blow.
Then, it executed a fancy backflip in mid-air, landing back on the ground again.
At the sa ti, Duanmu Huai’s War Hamr caught up, smashing into the ground in front of Kane.
"Boom!!!!"
The earth within hundreds of ters around them collapsed and exploded, mud and stones flying everywhere, blinding Kane’s view. Before it could grasp the spear and regroup, Duanmu Huai burst forth from the other side like a Tyrannosaurus Rex breaking through a waterfall, throwing his head high and then crashing it down onto Kane’s head.
The strength of the War God was mighty, and the power of the God of Destruction was equally formidable. The heavy helt Kane wore cracked under Duanmu Huai’s blow, with bright light gleaming through. Duanmu Huai stepped forward, gripping the long handle of the War Hamr like a stick, jabbing Kane in the abdon, curling the War God up like a shrimp. Then he swung the War Hamr, drawing a circular arc in the air, bringing it down on Kane once more.
"Bang!!"
This ti Kane couldn’t dodge in ti, and it had to raise the spear in a hard confrontation to block Duanmu Huai’s attack, then was sent flying backward. Along the way, it shattered countless high towers and buildings, leaving a deep furrow in the ground.
When Kane stood up again, the right side of its body was already in ruins, and the armor covering it was riddled with web-like cracks.
Duanmu Huai opened his mouth, a violent breath spouting from his mouth and nostrils. The sharp pain from his shoulder only fueled his nerves, making him more excited and agitated.
He believed Kane felt the sa, for at this mont, the War God was poised for battle once again.
Then, the battle resud.
A battle between two Gods was far beyond the realms humans could interfere with, whether it be the Netherworld warriors or Night Guards, under their respective commands, all evaded this war zone. No one would be foolish enough to intervene in a battle between two Deities, nor could they achieve anything.
However, the morale of the Spirit race had already plumted; nothing was more despairing for them than witnessing the deity they worshiped and adored being defeated. They knew nothing of the God of Destruction; they only knew War God Kane, the Deity who had been safeguarding them since the conception of the Spirit race, was beaten down by an unknown figure!
Could it really be the end for the Spirit race?
The Night Guards’ morale soared while that of the Spirit warriors plumted. The roles reversed, and the battle resud.
Yet, for the Spirit Lord observing the battlefield from afar, this was clearly not good news.
Why had it co to this?
The Spirit Lord clutched the railing firmly, glaring at the distant battlefield. There, War God Kane was as brave and fierce as ever, undeterred by danger, unafraid of life and death. Before this, as long as they were under its leadership, the Spirit race would be invincible.
It should have been so!
They were the Spirit race, they had the right to trample the stars unimpeded! They were the masters of the Milky Way! Nothing could stand in their way!
But that ugly monster!
The Spirit Lord vowed, this damned monster was even more hideous and abhorrent than the Insect Swarm in the void, yet it not only blocked the War God’s attack but even counterattacked, injuring it!
What blasphemy and insult!
That terrifying face seed like the embodint of all ugliness and terror in the world; daring to glance even more would feel as if one’s soul was utterly defiled and shattered, beyond restoration to its forr sanctity.
No choice left.
The Spirit Lord clenched its fist, making a decision.
Although it felt it shouldn’t have made this decision, now, it seed like it had no choice.
"—————!"
Thunder Warhamr tore through the air, once more colliding with the Doomsday Spear. Duanmu Huai roared, gripping the War Hamr tightly with both hands, pushing forward with great force. Kane withdrew the spear, its agile form dodging Duanmu Huai’s charge like a shadow. Then it suddenly halted, drawing a circle like a venomous bee in flight, aiming the spear straight for the back of Duanmu Huai’s neck.
Simultaneously, Duanmu Huai stomped on the ground, the trendous force driving the War Hamr in his hand to swing backward, deflecting the spear aid at him. Letting go of the War Hamr, Duanmu Huai allowed it to fly forward, aiming for Kane’s body. The latter hastily withdrew the spear to block it across its chest, forcibly withstanding the straightforward blow.
The Thunder Warhamr thudded as it fell to the ground because Duanmu Huai had no intention of picking it up. Instead, he charged toward Kane, reaching out to draw a Chainsaw Sword from behind his waist.
The rotating roaring blade tore into Kane’s body, Duanmu Huai gripping the sword hilt, fiercely chopping downward. The beast-like teeth clamped tightly onto Kane’s shoulder while the latter reached out to seize Duanmu Huai’s wrist, halting him from delivering final death and destruction.
But Duanmu Huai clearly had no intention of stopping there.
"Die!"
He roared and once again slamd his head against Kane’s. The already battered helt shattered completely, revealing the head inside, condensed from burning high-temperature flas. anwhile, Duanmu Huai let go of the sword hilt and reached out with both hands towards Kane’s head.
Next, with just one strike, Duanmu Huai could completely annihilate this old fellow!
"———————"
Just then, an ancient, cold, and cruel will suddenly appeared, the surging spiritual energy almost transforming into a towering wave, rushing straight towards Duanmu Huai and Kane.
Nothing was more shocking than the appearance of the Tyron Swarms.
Under the star’s radiance, countless insects converged into a river that obscured even stars, crashing into the battlefield before them without any warning. The massive tentacles ford by billions of swarms began a relentless attack on the prey in front of them. Their goal was simple: engulf and transform everything.
"Damn it!"
Duanmu Huai shook his head, blocking the spiritual energy roar from the Insect Nest Will. At the sa ti, the tall, smooth do of the Ark shattered, with countless void beasts descending from the sky to join the battle.
"Damn it, does it ever end?"
Duanmu Huai felt like nothing went smoothly after his return this ti. Fighting the Titanium Clan, he faced a bunch of Green Skins, Space Undead, and Chicken Thieves. Now, fighting the Spirit race, the damned Insect Nest Will also had to join in?
The question was, what to do now?
Duanmu Huai and Kane locked eyes, falling into silence. After a mont.........
"Screw it, I’ll deal with you first!"
After weighing his options, Duanmu Huai decided to first take care of Kane in front of him, then deal with the Insect Nest Will.
As for the swarms......he believed others could handle it!
But the Spirit race must die!
Thinking this, Duanmu Huai reached out to pick up the War Hamr beside him and charged at Kane once more.
As Duanmu Huai and Kane started their second round of combat, the cosmic battle had already descended into chaos.
Although Aikute realized the Tauren Army’s arrival instantly, she found herself in a dilemma—to abandon the Spirit race siege and turn to fight the Tauren, or to first suffer massive losses but eliminate the Spirit race fleet, then turn to deal with the Tauren.
Aikute wanted to contact Duanmu Huai, but with him and Kane locked in a deadly battle, there was almost no chance of any signal getting through amidst their divine power clash.
Luckily, as Aikute worried and felt indecisive, Allah brought Hei Chuan Chi Yin over, who, after so thought, gave her opinion.
"Eliminate the Spirit race first! No matter what, we can’t let the Spirit race escape! It’s not too late to deal with the swarms once the Spirit race is wiped out!"
"But this way, the fleet will suffer heavy losses........."
"For the Tribunal, eliminating the Aliens is always the top priority."
Hearing this, Aikute no longer hesitated and made her decision.
In contrast, Ogis and Mary inside the Ark had no such choice. They couldn’t choose who to fight. The descending Insect Race wouldn’t care about the difference between Humans and Spirit race. To the swarms, all life was biomass to be hunted, regardless of race. Ultimately, they would all be absorbed, assimilated, and beco part of the Insect Nest Will.
Well, from a certain angle, the swarms were the most aligned with the universe unification ideology.
But whether others were willing was another matter.
"What should we do now?"
The girls led by the Night Guards took a Spirit race building as a stronghold to temporarily fend off the swarm’s attack, but this was clearly inadequate. If it continued, what would happen was uncertain. They couldn’t assist Duanmu Huai; the disparity in skill was too great. Even though Duanmu Huai and Kane seed like street thugs brawling, being swept into their fight, even lightly, could crush them into pulp.
This was truly a battle between deities; even as Duanmu Huai’s followers, they had no chance to intervene.
"Hold here until Mr. Duanmu defeats that War God and moves?"
Mary proposed a cautious idea, since they seed unable to do anything rash.
Ogis remained silent; she didn’t care about plans and seldom proposed them, much like a puppet—well, she was indeed a puppet.
That’s all right then.
Lorena wasn’t skilled in this area, though punching enemies into pieces was her forte.
So that left.........
"Keep moving forward."
Frieren’s expression was very calm, with no sign she’d just blown hundreds of swarms away with magic.
"The swarm destroys everything, and the Spirit race clearly intends to flee. When we wiped out the Demon Clan, we encountered similar situations—letting the Demon Clan escape led to endless trouble. In comparison, the Insect Race is easier to handle. As long as Your Honor, the Judge, eliminates that War God, freeing us up, defeating the swarm is only a matter of ti. But if those Spirit race escape now, it will be difficult to catch them again."
"But where should we start?"
Frieren thought for a while, then pointed towards a nearby High Tower group.
"Start from there first."
